Ok I am about to change my oil in my John Deere I have changed the oil in my vehicles and push mower this is my first time for the zero turn thank you very much ❤️
I do the same basic service yearly on my 3 year old JD E120 with 64 hrs on it currently and it still looks and runs like new. I expect it to see several hundred hours without trouble.
Perfect Video. Just about to go out to the shed to service mine now I know how ;-) Edit - After following your instruction, I found the best way to get the fuel filter off without removing skin was to move both the clamps and then twist the filter (whilst holding the hose) as it breaks the seal with the hose and then is slips off the filter quite easily ;-).
Hey Scott, I have a couple questions. I’ve had my Z345 for a year now and I’m getting ready to do the maintenance kit tune up. 1) Is spark plug gap mostly factory set? 2) I was going to let engine warm up before changing oil and also going to put a block under rear wheel opposite the drain hose thinking that will improve drainage. Do you think this would help?
I'm picking mine up Monday . But , after a year I have to ask you if you noticed right away, or later that you put the fuel filter on backwards ? Look for the arrow !
I would say that the sensor on the fuel tank is bad. @@ScottBurnette Ugh, i can’t share pictures on here so I can show you guys. I’m going to call John Deere if I could just get it replaced before even putting oil in it. It’s a little concerning. Lowes doesn’t have any more in stock.
This is a far cry short of a yearly service on the mower. He's missed about 26 more steps that should be done. So please don't get the idea this is all you need to do or this is all your mower mechanic does on a mower service because its not. What He's done is simply service the engine and thats all and I say that in the most basic of ways. Everything he did do was done correctly, not knocking that but if this is all you do to your mower on a service year after year, it won't last you long. This is a basic engine service. Not a lawn mower service.
Buddy you don’t understand how much this helps. Appreciate it boss.
THANK YOU. Never changed oil before and your step by step really helped.
Such a beautiful machine will be getting this model sometime this month

Thanks! Got a new mower last year and time to service it. This video makes things simple!
Thank you for making this video. I just got a z335e and have really enjoyed it. Looking forward to using more in the coming weeks.
Thanks for the comment!
Thanks!

I hope it went well. Thanks for the comment.
Fuel Filter backwards? 5:38 looks like fuel filter put on backwards! Not following arrow of flow direction
Good eye, I changed it off camera.
Nice video thanks
Great informative video. Thank you so much.
Thank you for the comment. Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for the video I just got mine and I love it
Do you have a video on changing the hydrostatic drive belt on the Z335e?
No, I haven’t had to change it yet.
I backed up the video. It appears you put the fuel filter on backwards. Am I right? Ty for the video.
I did at first, couldn’t see the arrow. I switched it around. Thanks for the comment.

Yes I should have added that. Let it run for a minute and yes the gap was at factory spec.
@@ScottBurnette thanks

I did but I saw my mistake and switched it.hard to see the arrow that day. Hope you have good luck with it.
Thanks for the video! Have you had to change the belt for the deck?
No I haven’t. Had it for three years.
Would you recommend Putting some new oil in the new filter ?
All I do is put some on the seal. You can add some but it would make a mess where the filter is.
@@ScottBurnette I see ..appreciated
The low fuel light is on, and honestly has been on the whole time I have owned my 355r, is there a way to fix that?

This is a dealer part.
Can you tell me where the grease points are on the Z335E? I can’t seem to find them.

Just got mine today! Excited but a bit concerned. Question, do y’all’s have a lot of rust on the top of the intake behind the seat?
No, no rust on mine .

@@Bjordy7 it must have sat outside for a while. Hopefully you can get it resolved.
I have a 42 in h zero turn John Deere. It now only runs when it’s on choke and dies when you select mow. I’m think a carburator issue. Ideas?
Have you checked the air filter? If so , yes I would say carburetor
Is there anywhere to add hydraulic fluid mine has 150hrs on it and just wondering if there is a place to check/add oil
I think it is a sealed unit. I will check.
Would you recommend the z335e ztrak or going with the z345r ztrak?
So I looked it up and it gives you two more horsepower and a heavier frame with a cup holder for about the same cost. I would look at it .
Is it important that I put oil on the spark plug threads? I forgot and already put them on…
I like to put a light coat of grease on them for easier removal later
Did you put your fuel filter on backwards here? Just cause I watched ya flip it around?
Maybe… I am left handed.
Gotcha just wanted to make sure I put it on right on my end! Great video though helped me a lot!
I also think you put the fuel filter on backwards. There is an arrow indicating the direction of flow from tank up to the engine.
@@davidsackett5817 I saw that and turned it around. Dang thing was hard to see
What size spark plug socket?
Spark plug sockets come in two sizes: 5/8 inches and 13/16 inches
Does anybody know what kit do I deed for the same zero turn ?? They have different kits online
www.johndeerestore.com/jdb2cstorefront/JohnDeereStore/en/John-Deere-products/Genuine-Parts/Maintenance-Kits/Riding-Mowers/Home-Maintenance-Kit-for-D-and-Z-Series-Mowers/p/LG276
Are these maintenance kits available at a local John deer ?
I am not sure.
Where’s the transmission oil located on this model zero turn
Z300 Transmission Oil And Service Interval
The transmission used in the Z300 Series is a “sealed unit”. Therefore, the oil cannot be changed.
This is what I found online .
Adjust mower deck please
Do you want me to show how to adjust it ?
