    Intel's Core i9-14900K and i9-13900K CPUs have been experiencing an unusually high failure rate of around 50%, according to findings shared by Unreal Engine developers. These failures appear to be linked to issues with the silicon quality or manufacturing process, which can severely affect the stability and performance of these processors, particularly under demanding tasks like game development or 3D rendering. The situation has sparked concerns among users and industry professionals about the reliability of Intel's latest high-end CPUs, as this level of failure can disrupt workflows and reduce productivity. It's crucial for Intel to address these problems swiftly to maintain user confidence and protect their brand's reputation.

    I bought 13th gen with the thought that because it was the 2nd gen on a socket, all the bugs would be ironed out. Now I am regretting that decision.

    • @AcidGubba
      @AcidGubba 21 день назад

      You couldn't have known that. Intel had known about the problem for a while and only now admitted it. Before that they blamed it on the motherboard manufacturer. My i7 6700k, which has been running at 4.7ghz for 5 years, will probably have to last until gen 15.

    My 13900k, my 14900k, and 3 x 14900ks all had stability issues. The 13900k had the least stability issues though and was fine at stock settings once it wasn't overcooked. The 14900k / ks cannot even run the default settings now.

    I am done with Intel processors for an extremely long time, until Intel proves they care about customers who get sold broken products straight out of the box. AMD, Apple and NVIDIA are miles ahead of Intel currently.

      ya the fact they arent offering replacements is insane.

    • @Dhruv-qw7jf
      @Dhruv-qw7jf Месяц назад

      @@DanDoesPC What replacements CAN they even offer at this point? If this is a manufacturing or fabrication issue that has now been solved, only then they can offer better/fixed replacements. If this is a fundamental problem within the architecture, then what replacements are they even going to offer? I mean, they can maybe offer equivalent Arrow Lake CPUs, but firstly, everyone will have to buy new motherboards for that, which really don't come for cheap nowadays, and second, who's to say that the manufacturing or design flaws didn't carry on with Arrow Lake as well? Modern CPUs take about 3-5 years to design and manufacture, it's very likely then that if Intel failed to catch a now known flaw then that it will still exist in several future generations as well.

      @@Dhruv-qw7jfI don't think they can do much, but at the very least a refund would be nice. Although, they are a business, so if their math points at a lawsuit being cheaper for them than a refund, they may not do anything for customers.

    My 14900K failed with very little use time. I had the pc for half a year but barely used it. I did set every power setting to maximum in bios though. Never actually thought I would cook it by doing that since it had always been relatively safe to do that before. Thought for months that it was an issue with fortnite and because it said out of VRAM. since I had enough VRAM with a 4090 I wasn’t aware for a long time that it was actually the CPU that was f*cked.

    Chicken nuggets example is incomparable because you purchase chicken nuggets multiple times every month while processor only buy 1 per 2-3 yrs. Salmonella is health risk sometimes fatal.
    Comparison could be nearer to like Intel car that breaks in 2-3yrs because the engine breaks because of overheating.
    Intel admitted to it thats good but refused to take responsibility will only accept RMA not recall.
    To my understanding high end 13th and 14th gen really has problems because of the Intel precision boost 6GHz draws too much power that it creates heat that degrades the CPU faster and the prolong heat also causes oxidation (corrosion).
    A good cooling solution could delay this symptoms, my theory is could be they design this cpu to not longer while giving more performance like an 800Mhz overclocked CPU.
    The problem is rarer because people also buy a good CPU cooler not using the intel stock GPU. They only use it for casually like gaming and chrome, isnt CPU extensive application only the who use CPU extensive application in work like hours like 100% CPU utilization or mine with it will probably experience the said problem. Most games only use like 20-30% of CPU. Browsing, zoom, Photoshop, video edit only use like less than 10-30%. So average user will most likely not experience the said intel problem.
    Only those who work like in AI, animator render machine, cpu cryptomining , science data analysis like DNA or physics simulation , gaming overclockers and financial simulation will likely experience the problem. Specially if theyre using the stock cooler.

You could probably take a year's worth of Consumer sales vs maybe half a year of Workstation sales ; the consumer sales probably wouldn't even come close to the Workstation side. If the LARGE ( Business ) sales doesn't light a fire under Intel then what will?

    Now the cpu problem is real for sure. I will just say wait until Intel puts out whatever fix they propose and then see. Otherwise you can see pc’s on RUclips are still putting in intel chips.
    Again the issue is very real but just recognize that so many people have been using these chips since launch with NO ISSUES. With that make your own choice. I personally think it’s an issue with the most recent batch of CPU’s and they are the ones failing. Since I can’t tell which is which I’ll most likely get AMD. Provided that they get released soon. Seems AMD is having performance issues………happens to the best of us 😂😂😂😂😂

      Those AMD failures are not being seen at the data center level, and AMD is extremely popular among Linux users, who are both more likely to do weird things that would cause problems, and more likely to go onto tech forums looking for answers to their problem, because it's genuinely obscure enough that a simple google search isn't helping, and may in fact just yield other people not getting answers to the question.

    • @DanDoesPC
      @DanDoesPC  Месяц назад

      Ya I agree, but this is on a whole different level.... a 50% failure rate is insane, AMD absolutely has issues & is a nightmare to use, still to this day I hate using AMD due to the lack of features, but I would much rather have a PC running with issues, than a totally dead PC lol

    What a nonsense. Just check voltages - if you check SA and VDDQ voltages at which your CPU is stable and which your system uses you will see that if you add +0.1V it will be clear why these issues exist. For one we should not even see voltages like 1.4V but this is often the case and some mobo makers if you enable XPM with fast memory will easily boost that. Same reason AMD CPUs exploded some time ago.

      I got my i9 13900kf 2 years ago and first thing i did was going into the bios , i was shocked to see the default bios values

      Default clock ratio had 2 cores running at 5800Mhz, 300Mhz above spec.

    My i9 14900KF has no issue. Just go to the bios and enable PL1 and PL2 correctly and everything will be fine.
    Not sure why ppl keep talking about this.
    If someone owns a i7/i9 should know how to tweak basic stuff on a bios. Sure the manufacture should make it standard without we having a need to tweak it but still...

    Power limits are easy to set specially on ASUS

      That is absolutely not correct... I was building PCs for well over a year before I started tinkering with the bios stuff, that type of thing is for very experienced tech people that went to school for it, not the average person that has to figure it out on their own.

    •  Месяц назад

      @@DanDoesPC in my opinion the high end CPUs and even unlocks ones aren't for normal consumers so a few simples tweaks shouldn't be difficult lol. I didn't had any school back in 2011 and I was pretty go on tweaking Bios and doing OC. Let's face it, this Intel so claimed issue is kinda bs... Not saying it isn't real, but if that happens ppl are just too confortable buying stuff and forgetting that most cpus need knowledge. Hell even the AMDs X3D need alote tweaks and time/ knowledge, I would even say it's harder to make this stable then to make a Intel stable
      Just make sure to have PL1/PL2 and other settings correctly because Intel/Motherboard manufacturers where lazy to do it!
      I think 🤔 that ppl should have minimal knowledge when it comes to hardware/software so expensive.
      Not saying they are forced too... But also doesn't make sense spending so much money and not knowing how to tweak some little settings.
      It's very easy and simples to correct Intels mistake and prevent any damage.
      I had more issues with AMD both 7800X3D and 7950X3D then I ever had with Intel.
      Not to mention heavy issues with micro stutter and inconsistent frames.
      The balance of a system is very important.
      I love ur channel, I love ur content so don't take it to the wrong path when I say that ppl should know to use a bios, even to update it 😅
      There are also plenty tutorials how to make the stuff!
      But U did say something wise, building a secondary system, I gonna do the same when the 9950X arrives, if it does arrive stable because I'm kinda afraid on AMD markting and propaganda 🤔 this days it's hard to even believe on the content creators.
      Not saying u aren't to be trusted, hell u are a nice guy and well educated in the matter, also the idea of supporting u is great!
