DO NOT Drill the holes as shown in this video. Make sure they are at least 8 inches from the end. NOT 3 inches as shown. For the top hole you'll have to push the leading edge out of the way to install the self-tapping screw. For the bottom... you will hit the flange that you installed as the base to fasten the post down. NOTHING IS Tapping through that hardened steel. Installing the covers can be a bit tricky. Get the leading edge in first and then push it flat and tap with a rubber mallet until it clicks in. Instructions pretty much suck but overall the Pergola is good quality and once you get it assembled, you'll be fine.
@@rs.8803 They are tricky. I first thought that the way was to get the leading edge in at an angle and then push it flush. That does not work. They slide in flat. Rubber mallet helps a lot.
Do you have any tips on removing the side curtain cover? The video indicates it just slides out. However, my side curtain is very much stuck ... and sliding is not an option.

Did you have any trouble getting the side curtain covers to stay buckled in? Mine keep falling out.
