I thought her alchemy with the male lead was a lot better than in AMA although it's the same actor. Overall she is quite talented and versatile as an actress. I wish her the best.
Well I don't think you can say " possessive" because most of the drama she does not belong to him. They are not together officially so... I think he likes her he cannot get rid of his feelings he doesn't know hers so he tries everything to protect her even the extreme : making himself and her gay in the eyes of others. I don't think it's being possessing. He is just dedicated to his feelings and his will to protect her secret. After it is revealed he is not possessive. Just behaving like "look I am her bf".
For the first time, I did not have a second lead syndrome because the male lead was just AWESOME! He fought for his love and won( totally deserved it). I love jushan too but let's be honest, he was no match for Yanzhen. Ps: All the actors and actresses in this drama are totally awesome, I loved everyone ( the silly one, the reasonable one, the too serious one, the diva, the loyal lover, the village boy, the lazy one, the whole army squad, the best friend, the villian....I'm tired). They are all awesome, you guys can tell who they all are 😉
This was the first romance drama that I've watched without any kissing scene/much skinship, but it never failed to give butterflies in my stomach. Xu Kai's Gu Yanzhen era was his hottest era!!! I love them both!
Girl they cut out the kiss scenes due to Chinese censorship. Since this is a patriotic drama they cut out those. And yes you can find some deleted kiss scenes not all of em
This couple is so cute. Gu Yanzhen can't stop himself from loving his Xie Xiang. He's lucky. He's the one who knows she's a girl. If the Shen knew it before, the competition would have been more tense. Gu Yanzhen is not only jealous but fight for his girl. I love this couple. This drama is a must watch. All the actors performance are superb. The whole story is so cool.
I f*ckng love their dynamic. The way he annoys her to frustration is kinda sweet, hence her missing him a lot when they are apart. My only regret is that they didn't have a single kissing scene in this drama! 😭
I absolutely love Arsenal Military Academy! Weird how Gu resembles Jack from Titanic a lot in a cute way. Honestly all the main actors in this Chinese drama were phenomenal and surpassed the previous dramas I have seen, even some of my favorite KDrama. This one is a must watch and the two main leads sang the ost.
Gu Yanzhen is amazing. He’s like one of the best characters in the whole of chinese dramas. He’s not afraid of anything and fights for what is his. I love how xie xiang always prefers Gu yanzhen than shen junshan. It just shows how comfortable she is with him. I swear Gu yanzhen is a whole mood. He can be funny at times and dead serious at times and these mood swings makes him 1000000000 times more hotter😭😭😭😭

I loved how GYZ had so many genuine sides to him. It made him feel so authentic and relatable. I love his flippant devil-may-care attitude, but when he gets serious, damn nobody better mess with him. He acts like a good-for-nothing playboy/clown most of the time, but when the need arises, he reveals that he actually has some legit skills (both fighting and thinking) and he's not afraid to use them. *fans self* SO HOTT. how can someone be so hot, cute, crazy, hilarious and infuriating all at the same time XD no wonder the boys would look to him as some kind of unofficial leader whenever they met trouble. he's so reliable and yet unreliable at the same time. PAHAHAHA
This is the most perfect description of him. Thats why the other boys were intimidated by him. He acted the fool but he exuded so much self assurance that they knew not mess with him. He had that dangerous crazy vibe to him as well like if anything had happened to xie xiang. He would first burn the world then drink himself to death.
This is the only cdrama I've seen without any kissing scene but I loved it anyway because their chemistry was phenomenal even without the obvious skinship. I feel sad though that not a lot of people have seen this. This is still my favorite cdrama.
There actually is a lot of really great Chinese actors-recent ones I remember getting big include Zhu Yilong, Xiao Zhan, Li Xian, and more. Measuring by country is a little strange? But I agree he's really good.
I am a fan of K-dramas but after watching AMA, I realized that Chinese drama is so good (really good). Their acting is so amazing and you can really feel all the emotions especially Xu Kai (Gu Yanzhen). I think he is more good looking than other Korean idols haha (no offense✌). I'm really speechless with all his gestures in this drama. 🙊😍❤

Such a great show, Viki now has the license for this show. Patriotism, love triangles, strikingly beautiful women, a bevy of impossibly handsome men, action & intrigue. Great writing, great acting, amazing production values. What more could you ask for. One warning though, don't ever get on the wrong side of Ms Hou. Watch and find out.
