So true that brother. There will be a great void in shashtriya Sangeet , perhaps for the next 100 years or more. Ustad Rashid Khan was bestowed by Almighty with all the nuances of this classical tradition, be it taal Sur swar or the huge sense of proportion in artistic handling of the soul of each Raag while performing...his rare sweet but extremely heavy voice, not very common amongst the classical singers, can put the Bollywood singers in shame. I too strongly believe he is now with the creator of all of us.🙏 In one interview, I heard him saying, while remembering his deceased friend that, " woh to achhe jagha pe Gaye huye hain, halaki hum toh yeh bure jagha mein hain..." Couple of years back. Mujhe lagta hain Mann se itna achha artist aur ek bhi na hain... actually unko pata hi na the ke woh Kaun hain , ishwar ne unko kya dia...🙏🙏🙏 Pranam ustad ji🙏 Aum🙏
No words are enough to console Rashid Khan's large fan following, upon his very untimely demice. Depth of his rich voice, gradual unfolding of the Raag in perfectly carved notes, excellent breath control and optically 6/6 landing on Sam made his singing very enjoyable experience. His concerts were always a grand event. Miss him. May he rest in peace.
