What kind of lens cover Steve is using on his Sony 200-600mm? It doesn't look like a normal neoprene material everybody uses.

    Perfect timing.
I’m thinking about getting a 1.4TC for my Nikon 180-600mm lens.

@@CattailChronicles I’ll be testing out on birds next week in Arizona so we’ll see.
840mm is a lot of lens so we’ll see how well the monopod and monogimbal work.

I have the 2.0 TC for my Sony 70-200 f2.8 II. There is a slight decrease in sharpness and color saturation. Also, at times the focusing keeps hunting for the subject. On a side note, soon as the Sigma 500mm f5.6 Sport lens is back in stock, I’ll be purchasing it despite not being able to use the max frames per second since it’s a third party telephoto lens. But at 3lbs, I’ll be able to handhold it and stay out longer in the field without the need for a tripod. Fingers crossed!🤞🏽

Yeah the teleconverters do effects the quality of the image. Taking 2lbs off the lens weight will be very noticable. Let us know what you think.

I own the new sony 1.4x and the only reason I bought it over the 2.0 is by researching significant reviews that stated the 2x had noticeable focus assist lag. I mean these lenses are epic and fast, but it was just something I read. My 1.4 is awesome! Super fast

Lol you know you have a beast lens when you unscrew the camera LOL! I somewhat experienced this today playing around with an anamorphic lens which was so fat, I had to disconnect the camera first fr tripod 😂
Edit: I know there are tripods for it, was just surprised 😂

What is the device in your hot shoe ?

That device is, officially, an Aodelan Wireless Timer and Remote Shutter Relase. I am using it here to avoid touching the camera. It also can be used to program extended exposure durations , multiple frames, etc.

I would not use teleconverters on the Sony 200-600 5.6-6.3 G Lens, when I had that Lens I made massive crops from my Sony A7RIV Cameras with VERY good results (you can also use the excellent Sony A6700), so you do not need the teleconverter.

Yeah it's not for everyone. We use we use it sparingly.

just curios; why don't you just shoot in super 35 mode? you won't lose the aperture and you have pretty beefy sensors so you'll not lose too much in iq.

Its the same as croping post. Perhaps a good video idea for you.

Honestly we never remember the super 35 mode. It would be fun experiment to combine the 1.4 AND super 35.
