The interior , The seats, the way the leather is used and tufted, puts newer cars with leather to SHAME, such a beautiful design. After watching this I dug out the shop vac and gave the A3 some TLC 💙!
Great job Tyson! It's all in the details. I like that. Cleaning the jack and spare tire area I thought I was the only one haha. It's nice to see the quality of materials used in these 90's luxury cars compared to today's vehicles. The leather looks luxurious along with the trim pieces. There was a feeling of solidity to those vehicles.
I love these legends !!! They looked so cool and drove so nice :) I have a 91 maxima se in great condition I take care of it and don’t drive it often . But when I do drive it I always get complements from enthusiasts.
I love those Maximas. That 190 HP engine in the SE was a game-changer at the time. 4DSC sticker. Lol My friend worked at a Nissan dealership in 1991 when the 300ZX TT was out, too. Such a special time for Nissan. Such a shame you don't see them anymore. Quite shocking actually.
Next time you have to drive with no wipers in the rain, get a bottle of RAINx Glass Repellent and you'll be able to see clear as day! Awesome resto man, love your videos!!
Omar will be able to get that often no time at all that is gorgeous. I'm sorry about the bird poop. I have it on of my car that sits outside pissed I have to pay somebody 50 bucks bucks New York prices. You know I got the biggest chuckle out of you saying I got in touch with the owner. I don't think any of us are surprised. 😂😂😂😂❤
Awesome video… I love all your videos ! Your videos inspired me too restore my 3rd gen 4Runner I’ve been slowly redoing my interior and did a little of the exterior. Keep up the good content!
Great to see how it's coming along. I'm about to unpack a lot of parts for mine. We'll see if I got the correct emissions sticker. If not, I may try what you did. Excellent idea to laminate it. That speaker grill really turned out well.
Oh. My. Gosh!! Have you ever entertained the idea of opening your own detail shop, instead of sending out parts and such piecemeal? You certainly know more about all the ins and outs of Acura detailing than anyone else! I Sherwood be green with envy to have a car like that!
I love the little car diagram that shows which door is open and if a brake light is out, a really cool feature a lot of the models used to have. The newer stuff has warning lights for just about everything under the sun but they don't tell you if a brake light is out, which is something thats actually useful. I could be wrong on this as I haven't actually looked up the wiring diagram, but I don't think the 3rd brake light is connected to those warning systems, though I don't know why it would be designed that way. The third on my CL was unplugged for months and I didn't know about it, no light came on, but if one of the side brake lights are out or unplugged it comes on right away, so it seems not to care about the 3rd, at least on CLs and Accords. I use a portable steamer (like a cheap Amazon one for ironing clothes) for removing tint and find it works really well!
Good stuff! Yes I love the little warning light diagram. For now I have everything working on this one. Haven't completed the tint removal yet but making good headway on a next video episode already since I filmed this one. Thanks Chris!
Next time for windshield sans wipers, just spray some ceramic detailer or spray wax to make the water stick a lot less. Also, Meguir’s headlight coating spray will keep the haze from appearing again for a year or two. The wax may keep it looking for a few weeks. Other than, the restoration is looking great!
I've removed tint when I worked at body shop in the 90s. We used a blade with simple green and a heat gun. Comes off easy without much scraping bc on rear window you can't scrap with blade.
You'll have to let us know what the boot floor turns out like once you lift the heavy boxes off. Really impressed with the restore on this one, would hate to be looking at the costs in your Excel sheet, though!
If you end up selling this car, I really hope whoever buys it watches these videos and sees the loving care you put into the restoration. Random question - do you put the same Michelin tires on all of your Legends?
The car is definitely going up for sale. I do prefer the Michelin Energy. This car is getting a set of Michelin Defender that I just swapped it to it from the green coupe. I have never owned Nokians.
Yes! Love the wood grain wheel! Fantastic addition. What’s the shop that adds wood grain? I’d like to do that on one of my Lexus. So hard to find a parts car steering wheel in good shape
She’s going to be beautiful! Have you ever sold one of your wonderful cars to what you thought would be a good home only to learn the new owner didn’t take proper care of it? This happened to me with my 1st Honda, a 1987 Accord LXi Hatchback I bought new. I let it go at 20 years old in prime shape only to see it trashed a couple of years later, still makes me sick.
Hi Tyson, I hope you are doing well and the GS is looking great! I was needing further information on the engine information label on the air box. Did you get everything done at the fedex office store, which included scanning the old label and having it laminated with a sticky back? Mine is in great shape and is not peeling off yet, but I would like to get one or two made up, just in case mine decides to peel. Well, now I need to get out there and wash my Legend so i can put a new car cover on. Thanks for the great videos and I look forward to the next one. Keep up the great work! 🤗
Great interview on AutoHunter Tyson! Is there a specific website you’d suggest to follow if I’m looking for an 80’s manual Accord in Arizona? Thanks again for all your videos!
You bet! I'll keep eyes and ears open for older Accords. Usually my searches span a variety of apps and websites. FB Marketplace has had some surprising gems lately.
I'm curious to know how many of these you've come across where the AC might not be working up to par. I know the one I had from my uncle was converted from R12 to R134a and it just didn't seem to be the greatest. I know a lot has to do with how good a job they did with converting it. They take different oils between the two and most didn't take the time to convert it properly. These systems are just meant for R12 unless you redo the oil and other components. Do you have an AC person you go to? By the way I tried that griots leather conditioner. Great stuff! I think I went a little heavy with it though because it stunk for a little bit. Lol
Speaking of a battery tie down. I need one for my 93 Integra. I'm tired of using a ratchet strap to hold the battery! I think it's been discontinued by Acura.
Parts cars are available from members of the Acura Legend forums and Facebook groups. Check out "Acura Legend Owners & Enthusiasts," it has 8,000 members in it. That is a pretty common part. You can also email Alan at alnajc@aol.com
Wold you know where I could buy a used Honda Accord I Engine? My uncles friend is riding of his 91 accord coupe cause of a bad engine but the rest of the car is perfect! This is my dream car so could you help me find something I wanna turn this into a keeper 💯❤️❤️
I work in a finance career but also do some automotive journalism on the side. Yes the restorations are very expensive! On most of these I'm lucky to break even. I lost a few bucks on the RSX and the TSX last year but they went to good homes.
That window tint stuff is so cheap looking and really ruins the look of so many older cars. I can't tell you how tedious it is to remove. I remember an older volvo 240 wagon i bought that was tinted with that film. In the glove box was the information on the product that the owner saved (so typical of Volvo owners!). It clearly advised not to clean it with amonia. Used amonia on it and it made stripping It off so much easier!
😢 I wish all old Acura Legends would just abandon their neglectful owners and just drive to your garage 🤣. I’ll be emailing you when I get one to restore because you’ve been through it all 🫠. The seats look oem, I hate it when they’re redone to look obviously 🙄 after market. I’ve seen that done a lot on the 90s 300zx.
It just amazes me what amazing craftsmanship went into carefully refurbishing those seats just like the factory originals!
Totally, the attention to detail is awesome
The interior , The seats, the way the leather is used and tufted, puts newer cars with leather to SHAME, such a beautiful design. After watching this I dug out the shop vac and gave the A3 some TLC 💙!
Definitely, thanks Charles!

Such a beautiful car. Honda stepped into the big show in the late 80's and early 90's.
Definitely, thank you!
I love these legends !!! They looked so cool and drove so nice :) I have a 91 maxima se in great condition I take care of it and don’t drive it often . But when I do drive it I always get complements from enthusiasts.
Your comparing a Nissan Maxima to an classic Acura😅
I love those Maximas. That 190 HP engine in the SE was a game-changer at the time. 4DSC sticker. Lol
My friend worked at a Nissan dealership in 1991 when the 300ZX TT was out, too.

@@joelweekes4267What's so funny about that?
@@joelweekes4267 Acura and maxima was the same era 😭
Those are really great cars. Love that gen of Maxima. The "four door sports car," they called it.
Next time you have to drive with no wipers in the rain, get a bottle of RAINx Glass Repellent and you'll be able to see clear as day! Awesome resto man, love your videos!!
Thanks!! Appreciate it!
Hey Tyson make sure the weights go on the inside of the wheel lol.. I know your a stickler for that! I'm watching this one closely!! Looking great👌
Exactly!! Good call.
Another great video man! Your attention to detail on these restorations are unmatched keep up the progress Bro 🙌🏾💪🏾
Appreciate it brother!! Keep up the great work with yours too!
Looking great! The toothbrush segment was what sealed it for me 😊
Haha good!
Love it!! Coming along nicely!! I love that you are such a perfectionist!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Bro you got it coming together nicely! Can wait to see the end results. 👍🏿👍🏿
Thank you!
Love this channel, great for Acura and Honda purists!
That means a lot, thank you
Wow! That was pretty cool what you did with the label from the airbox.
Thank you! I have had to do similar things before so I'm glad it worked

Haha seriously. I become a bit of a stalker when it comes to automotive ownership history.
You have you have fueled my addiction to cars. Ha ha. My friends think I'm nuts.
Awesome video… I love all your videos ! Your videos inspired me too restore my 3rd gen 4Runner I’ve been slowly redoing my interior and did a little of the exterior. Keep up the good content!
Awesome, I love those 4Runners. I'll subscribe to your channel.
Great to see how it's coming along. I'm about to unpack a lot of parts for mine. We'll see if I got the correct emissions sticker. If not, I may try what you did. Excellent idea to laminate it.
That speaker grill really turned out well.
Yes! Sounds like you have some fun times ahead with the parts you've received.
Oh. My. Gosh!! Have you ever entertained the idea of opening your own detail shop, instead of sending out parts and such piecemeal? You certainly know more about all the ins and outs of Acura detailing than anyone else! I Sherwood be green with envy to have a car like that!

Can't wait to see how that console turns out!!!!!!!
I know! First time trying this route
Therapeutic. Always entertaining Tyson ❤
Thank you Damon!

So many gems in this video I can use to help on my car. Thanks bro!
You bet, thanks for watching!
Looks great coming together nicely. Another one coming to the channel possibly??
I already have another car lined up for similar treatment after this one is done, it's the 1986 Legend I did a couple videos on recently
Next time for windshield sans wipers, just spray some ceramic detailer or spray wax to make the water stick a lot less.

There's my toothbrush! I've been looking everywhere!
I'll be giving it back shortly. Guaranteed to fight the worst plaque.

LOVED this.
Thanks Dillon!

Haha yes, the Excel is kind of scary!
Love this
Thanks Darin
@TysonHugie No doubt Tyson Bro it given inspiration to get it has to be a 6 speed

It is Craft Customs in Rockwall, Texas. Tell Kathy I sent you!

Unfortunately that has happened to me too!
Looking great. The airbox sticker is a nice touch 👍. Are the door jamb weatherstrips original? Still looks supple and fresh.
They are original! Some of the weather stripping has tears in it, but that will have to wait until I find a really nice parts car.
Looking good! Gosh, those birds were thoughtless and inconsiderate 😡
Seriously!
Who Sells the Leather, I Been Looking and Looking seems Unable to found Gathered Inserts
This was a custom upholstery job. By hand.
Hi Tyson, I hope you are doing well and the GS is looking great!

Yes for the label I basically just took in an original, made a b/w copy of it, then had FedEx laminate it with their sticker material!
@TysonHugie I appreciate the info. Have a great weekend and thanks. 😊
Great interview on AutoHunter Tyson!

Yeah the a/c in this car has been converted and seems to work well!
Speaking of a battery tie down. I need one for my 93 Integra. I'm tired of using a ratchet strap to hold the battery! I think it's been discontinued by Acura.
Yes, best bet is just to watch your local salvage yard inventory! Thanks again for watching, I need to catch up on what projects you've been up to.
Use a steamer Tyson it'll soften up the tint enough to peel off as one piece
Will do!
Hey man,,,,I have 95 Legend coupe & wanted to know if you know where I can get a bumper clearance light for rear bumper drivers side ??
Parts cars are available from members of the Acura Legend forums and Facebook groups. Check out "Acura Legend Owners & Enthusiasts," it has 8,000 members in it. That is a pretty common part. You can also email Alan at alnajc@aol.com
Any idea how to clean the dust from the back deck mounted third brake light bezel
That's a good question, prob have to disassemble it!
Pro Tip: Cover the A-Pillars with clear bra material. They will look new for years.
Thanks!
What state is this...no rust no nothing, the cars are pristine😊
AZ.
Arizona
Wold you know where I could buy a used Honda Accord I

eBay
I had a black two-door 91 5-speed Legend, wish I never sold it😢
They are great cars!
Mannn what do you do for a living .. I knownthese restores are expensive..
I work in a finance career but also do some automotive journalism on the side. Yes the restorations are very expensive! On most of these I'm lucky to break even. I lost a few bucks on the RSX and the TSX last year but they went to good homes.
Awesome work as always. When you restore your next manual Accord or TSX, I’d definitely compensate you for all your costs!
Tyson, great job as always. What’s your thoughts on an exhaust for a 94 Coupe? Do you have a preference aftermarket one you like?
Try wd-40, let sit, then try to scrape off. Should be easy.
Thanks!
That window tint stuff is so cheap looking and really ruins the look of so many older cars. I can't tell you how tedious it is to remove.
