I had used the Port Dock train many times when the train went under the old Red Hill bridge, the line was straight before the cold store was erected. That whole area was busy still with railway freight, and not forgetting the line that crossed Commercial Rd to get to the Flower Mill and the MV Troubridge ferry.

To be honest , I just couldn't see drivers these days negotiating the amount of sidings that used to be these and I believe the Osborne Fright line cane off there somewhere too..and even more sidings , line etc doen near the servo.. do you remember where the old station was ? Thanks for the awesome comment and thanks for watching ..tc Bridgette

Do you remember those specially designed vehicles that used to take bundles of timber lengths down to the wharf?

@@mnj640 where did the original good line go from Port Dock ? Are you talking about heading to the dock area where the light house is now ? Or did it head to the dock area down near the mill and bridge crossing ? 😁

The port used to be quite busy in the 70s and until the 80s. Then they moved the station and then the shopping precinct. The port seemed to die overnight.

Well I guess they removed it entirely....with the election promise almost completed ...although its not back where it used to be , which was where the police station is now ...but the new location is right beside the now national Railways museum....which means both the museum and the new Port Dock station sit on the old goods yard site.. thank you so much for commenting and your support .. tc Bridgette

Yeah it used to be directly where the cop station is now. I think there is still an old fountain out front of the cop station where it used to be

When will the new station be open? It's looking pretty good so far.
Would be cool if you did a video on the museum if you get the chance to go some time. There is one over here not too far away from me, you might find it interesting to look up, it's called the National Railway Museum York 👍
