Is Powerage really underrated though? It has Down Payment Blues, Riff Raff, Rock and Roll Damnation and Sin City, four of their very best songs...the rest of the album is awesome, Gone Shooting, Up To My Neck In You etc. Flick of the Switch is underrated though, I remember it was considered a bit of a let down following For Those About To Rock.
Gotta love and admire the way Malcolm plays. Not only his sound, but his style, his whole stage presence during play. He never tried to pull off any fancy shit, just rock n roll, no b.s. yet still looked so damn cool and authentic, just keeping the groove, true and steady. From start to finish of his career, he never changed, and this was in fact the creedo of the band, in the words of Mal himself - "determined never to change".
Because there are only like 4 chords they toss randomly through their 50 year career and listeners just don't tell it's a new one or good old back in black highway of hell bells
@@jonasrmb01 I actually like the sound of this album that's the thing. I feel like with their self produced sound created the personality of the entire flick of the switch album imo
@@fundhund62 well I disagree, I mean acdc have never been particularly "technical", this album has some fast and fun tracks like this one, Landslide or Brainshake which I think are all amazing. I don't think anything is lacking on this album
Flick of the Switch was the Let There Be Rock of the 1980's, raw and energetic! It's a criminally underrated album and the last album that has Brian's voice still in tact. By the end of the Flick of the Switch tour in September 1984 his voice was SHOT.
Yeah it has with me it was made in early to mid 1980s the strangest thing is why brian will no longer have this on their play set in concerts I dont know but it's a shame
I just bought an original flick of the switch cassette with a sticker on it purchased out of sound shop on 12/15/1983. This is being played on a 1983 model cassette radio. Oh my God man, can't explain the sound that comes from these 2 combined. I'm 47 an it definitely brings me back to being that little kid again jamming to it. I've got it all from ozzy- samhain- motley- misfits- even Ole adam and the ants an everything else.
If there was such a thing as assault rock, this song would fit. The band in the video looks like they're ready to assualt an enemy. Brian's mannerisms and power vocals come off like a general about to send his troops to battle.
In the words of the legend and founder of the band, Malcolm himself: _“There’s very few rock n roll bands. There’s _*_rock bands,_*_ there’s sort of… metal, whatever...but there’s no rock n roll bands…there’s the Stones and us.”_ So, no AC/DC are not ‘hard rock’ or ‘just rock’ - there are tonnes of those out there and they all sound the same. There is a key difference): ruclips.net/video/73TeHDYadqQ/видео.html Enjoy the video.
I've been a fan since 78. I am just now finding this gem on youtube. Another favorite simple riff tune just the right breaks. This is going on my play lists.
really love how angus starts this song out, just casually nervous like, then hangs on to a certain note, like ringing a bell, wearing it out. priceless.
Just came from the rehearsal vid of this song and wow, whoever merged this take with the actual audio did a great job. You can barely tell that the lead vocal is overdubbed. Just in spots when he prematurely pulls the mic away but you still hear him singing. Really, the only difference in the rehearsal audio is he's really straining to hit that high note on the chorus and here he's not. They sound pretty much exactly the same in rehearsals. Just not so studio clean but still great.
Without a doubt the greatest Rock'n'roll band to come out of Australia. AC/DC you are true blue Hard Rock'n'roll legends. Thanks for the many years of great music.
Felicidades AC DC
The REAL Guns for Hire Only true AC/DC fans know and love this song Best of its album by far Brian was in his absolute prime, a shame Flick of the Switch only has like 3 or 4 good songs

whenever someone got a new stereo in their house or car this tune was the stress test,i literally seen a set of klipsch la scalas start to smoke half way through the tune lol .back in the day you were the shit if you had a set of those!
2018 rockin' to the Greatest Rock n Roll Band ever; W/ Bon Scott days Even more so; Brian Johnson was a gift to keep ACDC & Bon Scott Legacy alive. It tripped me out they sounded so much alike. Happy 2018 guys RIP Macolm & Bon Keep on Keeping on the Rest of Youz
ACDC kicks ass I'm 20 and I've been listening to ACDC since I was 7 and still haven't heard all of there songs but ACDC needs to be in the rock n roll Hall of fame. there the greatest band ever.
What a solo - Sin City, Back In Black, Nervous Shakedown, Guns For Hire - these guitar solos totally blow me away every time.
Flick of the Switch has some of AC/DC’s best guitar work.
Shake a Leg needs to be mentioned
If you want blood
@@CZACHA88_ you got it
Try playing them! I have been working on Back in Black for a year. The solo is narly.

What an underrated AC/DC song, first time hearing it and already it's among my favorites. Johnson in his prime.
Yeah one my favs from Brian
Every AC/DC song is underrated cause there's only like 4 songs that get played on the radio
Because there are only like 4 chords they toss randomly through their 50 year career and listeners just don't tell it's a new one or good old back in black highway of hell bells
change the word underrated by "I love it"
Every acdc song is amazing
No they are not Average White Guy....sigh.
stop listening to crap radio stations, theyre out there!
Intro is insane what other band comes in like that? Angus sounds like he just blew up the fuse box
Such an underrated song. The main riff of this song has to be one of my favorites from AC/DC. For lack of a better term, it's just so epic.
Is it a good term for you like superb or astonishing ?
EFFIN AWESOME....MY ADDICTION
sadly selfproduced
the production is what held this song back

Agreed.
This is a really good song
In my opinion this album is AC/DC's heaviest and it kicked ass! My favorite with Brian.
Flick Of The Switch (my fav. album in the entire AC/DC catalog) sounds like it was recorded on the same day as For Those About To Rock.
Flick of the switch...... what an album!!!!!!!!!!!!
Flick of the switch my absolute favorite album hands down 🇺🇸
I wish AC/DC would play this song in concert. Flick of the Switch is an underrated album.
The songwriting is somewhat lacking (it got so much better on Fly On The Wall).. but it´s got lots of energy and power!

Yeah I’d agree with that …it was noticeably more hoarse on fly
@@Hawkman1972-lb7jy
I guess you mean FLY ON THR WALL? Or could it be that album was poorly mixed?
Flick of the Switch is their most raw and BRUTAL album!
Some serious bone crunching rock.
And this song is the most ballsy since songs from Powerage.
Shivoy Pandita Their most brutal album is let there be rock as that album is just an all out guitar attack
Dude, Spellbound was on For Those About To Rock, not Let There Be Rock. You probably got a bit confused there.
I think Ballbreaker is their most brutal album.. but Flick of the switch together with Fly on the wall are so fuckin underrated!!
True
Personally I'm here today to revisit a Fn awesome album. On the 40th anniversary of Back in Black. Because someone else called this Brians. POWERAGE.
This song would mashup perfectly with "What Do You Do For Money?"
