I'm practicing but the tough part is feathering the back brake. I always either slam it or just loop out. This needs a lot of muscle memory exercise :)
what am i supposed to do when feathering the brake do i just press it once and start pedaling harder so it wont go down or do i press it multiple times
Good tips Harry. As a Bmx coach I get my riders to hop off the back of the bike first. If they can’t get it up I hold them from the front (handlebars). Another tip is keeping core strong and head back. A lot of the time front wheels drop because the rider doesn’t stay strong and allows head to come forward over the front wheel. But keep up the good work 👍🏽🔥
I managed to do a manual just by tapping the brakes and just going past the balance point it's easy! Keep practising and just don't be afraid of falling back.
Hey Harry! This video did help me feel more confident about wheelieing, but I am wondering if you have any tips on being less scared when pulling up and getting to your balance point. Thanks! Keep up the good work!
I'm not using brakes, in start i went back on my legs a lot but never in my life on the back. Still, after like 4 months I'm still not using brake if I don't really need it(some bad situation-car overtaking or something) and it is actually preety good and I think u can learn faster without using brakes but still being carefull about going back
been practicing my wheelie for a couple months now, and for me the hardest part is using the brake while being up. I can’t think quick enough to use with when i’m up, but so far i’ve only fallen once lol. No doubt tho i’d be able to stay on longer if i could use my brake
@@conwayk5770 bro how did u do it?? I have the same problem I can only get off the ground when I don’t have my two finger on the breaks. And when I do I just can’t get up I can only do a little hop and then come straight down again.
What if I’m struggling getting the bike in the air? I’m not scared to do it, and I got decent power, so the problem is with my form. Any tips that I can maybe look at?
Keep practicing and ride a lot normally just to get confidence on the bike. That used to happen to me aswel when I was learning. Also a good tip to avoiding that is extend your arms fully while in a wheelie and try to keep posture until u master it
@@rearwheelaf1289 yes your posture is rly important. although i uses to struggle w this before, there is no wheelie without turning the wheel to keep your balance, keep that in mind 🤙🏻
Even tho I’m late for a response check to see if your front brakes are rubbing because that can cause your wheel to bring you to the side. If they are rubbing you can either adjust them so it doesn’t influence the balance or strip them completely like many people have. (Only strip them if you’re comfortable in your ability to control your bike under pressure with just your skills and back break)
It's better to learn with small speed, because It's much easier to keep side to side balance due to gyroscopic effect. Once you get wheelie on a low gear you can make your "starting speed" faster by trying to wheelie on higher gears. Extra speed = extra stability, but It's harder to pick up front wheel after you brake too much.
