Today we get an epic catch and cook going in which we catch two of the biggest omilu ( Trevally ) that we have caught to date! We were spending 3 days camping at one of our favorite Hawaii fishing spots in hope of catching some solid fish to cook up during the camping. On day two we head out early on a long hike to get some early fishing going in hopes of hooking up on some nice omilu or some other type of predator. We manage to catch some oama as bait and send that out with a few different fishing methods. Not 10 minutes into fishing and we were on! Two solid omilu later and the catch and cook was on! This episode is a bit different from our normal style due to some audio loss, let us know what you think!

I was at the beach with you today.
Nice catch 🤙🏽👍, but moving the fish back and forth actually suffocates it as the fish is designed to have water come in through the mouth and out the gills but great vid. Another step to ikejime is taking a metal spike and sticking it up the tube below the spine because even tho the fish is dead, the nerves are still working which can degrade the meat. You also have to cut the gills.

why everyone is whipping in inshore ? isn't there bigger fishes that you can get with a normal popper or like Daiwa Sp minnow ? Artificial shirmp ? I would love an answers thanks you
Your absolutely right if your strictly targeting trevally or barracuda occasionally other things then yes poopers and big sp minnows are the best. But if you are just trying to catch snappers papio moi barracuda goatsfish basically everything or anything else.. Oama is king. Thanks for watching my bradda 🤙🎣

Awesome action! Good times! Good grindz! You guys gotta make it up to Alaska one of these days atleast for 2 weeks second week of June is the best time. It is a trip to see and do for the first time with the huge amount of fish it has during fishing season. I fished with my brother in law for a month my first summer up here and we were set netting off the beach 150' net with 1 end anchored out in the water and the other end anchored on the beach, and we used my brother in law's 24' boat to pull the net up on the boat to pick the fish out and throw the net back in the water, we started from outside and worked our way in towards the shore, and what's crazy was that soon as you throw the net back in the water on the other side of the boat you could see the net already boiling from more fish getting caught. Never have I imagined hand picking 75,000 pounds of silver salmon and sold it for $1.75 a pound commercially, it came out to little over $130 grand in one month fishing 2 tides a day. Speaking of tides the tides up here is crazy! you would think there's a tsunami going on with how far the water goes out during low tide, and then to see how high it gets during high tide it's a trip to see. Dunking is fun down in Homer or Seward for halibut or a couple different kind species of cod that look like huge po'opa'a! Lol aloha! 🤙🏽
