    3:11 Maxillary premolar has buccal cusp and palatal cusp and not lingual cusp. Plz do correct it🤝

    • @DentoRise
      @DentoRise  2 года назад +6

      Hi
      As per Wheeler's Dental Anatomy, Physiology and Occlusion, maxillary premolars have buccal cusp and lingual cusp.
      Quoting the direct text from Wheeler's 10th edition page number 137, 'The maxillary first premolar has two cusps, a buccal and a lingual, each being sharply defined. The buccal cusp is usually about 1 mm longer than the lingual cusp.'
      Though the cusp is present palatally, we still call it lingual cusp only.

    But where is the lobes???

    • @DentoRise
      @DentoRise  Год назад +4

      Hi
      As per wheelers,
      'A lobe is one of the primary sections of formation in the development of the crown.
      In the anterior teeth, the four lobes are called the mesial,
      labial, distal, and lingual lobes.
      In premolars they are called mesial, buccal, distal, and lingual lobes, or as in the case of the mandibular second premolar, which often has two lingual cusps, the mesial, buccal, distal, mesiolingual, and distolingual lobes, making five in all.
      The molar lobes are named the same as the cusps (e.g.,
      mesiobuccal lobe). The tip of each cusp represents the primary
      center of formation of each lobe.
      Hope this was helpful for you.
      We will soon upload a video on lobes to clarify this concept.

    your distal and measle are changing with slides its confusing to understand which is actually distal aur measel

    • @DentoRise
      @DentoRise  2 года назад

      Hi!!
      This change in the mesial and distal sides is due to the difference in image selection. One tooth belongs to the right side and other to the left. In this video, we have just attempted to give an insight of CUSP as a landmark. We are dealing with every single detail of each tooth in our playlist on dental anatomy where you will also learn how to identify mesial and distal sides and thus determining the side of the tooth (right or left). You can check out the playlist on our channel.

      Hi
      Pits are normal on a tooth. However carious pits are not normal and need to be restored.

    Sometimes you show which side is mesial and which distal and sometimes not. Its confusing

    • @alien555SVK
      @alien555SVK Год назад

      For example you put photos of first mandibular and second mandibular premodar next to each other. So i would expect that its in a row and on right side of first premolar is distal part of teeth and on the left site of second premolar is mesial part but then on next screen is second premolar and on the left is a distal part,

      Hi
      This video is just an introduction to cusps of all the teeth, aims at identifying and naming the cusps and does not deal with the anatomy of any tooth. So the figures have been taken accordingly and not specifically according to the quadrant.
      The detailed anatomy of every tooth has been covered in our playlist
