I'm a foster parent, got my first batch of kiddos almost a year and a half ago! My wife and I 🤍 it's been challenging and emotional. Ages we got them (3,6,3 months) ages now (4,7, 1 1/2 years) and also just got the baby brother to my eldest two...hes 5 months, I love them as my own! They're my babies....just got the devastating news that the 3 siblings will be leaving us to a non-bioligical aunt. ☹☹
I learned the hard way that there is no such thing a family. Family is a lie, parents don't care about us. They only take care of us because it's one of their dutys in life and once they have completed that task they will abandon you to fend foryourself when your 12 years old. I've learned the hard way that parents don't at all love us, we are just toys for them to manipulate us and to entertain themselves and like all toys they'll just throw us away and never love us again 💔

I was a foster child. I am now adopted. I have been through more than most will there entire life. I am only 14. It began when I was born. Who knew one baby girls birth would affect so many lives. I was put into foster care when I was 4. I was adopted when I was 7. I still find out stuff to this day. One decision changes so many lives. For better or for worst, that's who I was and this is who I am. This is where I belong.
I was adopted as well and Everytime I hear I start to cry 😭 they I go to the people who loves me and hug them for taking care of me and takeimg me in 😭😍
Feel blessed if you can sing this song and read its words envisioning your loving family. My whole life I've been wanting to feel like what the message in this chorus is saying. Not everyone has a life like this. Where others want to win the lottery or make it rich as their dream in life, some just want to belong, and be surrounded by love. Don't take that for granted. You're already rich if you have a family that loves you unconditionally. I hope one day I can say that as well.

I absolutely love The Fosters. This song is so emotional for me. I found the show when I came into foster care. I am 18 now and still in the system. Kt sucks but I ha e learned a lot. I found my forever family whether they adopt me not not. I hear this song and think of them saying this to me. Brings tears to my eyes every time. It’s not easy just keep your head up. It gets better I promise you that.
As a former foster kid and having a beautiful family and a home this song reminds me of the beauty that the pain was covering. All this time it was all worth the wait because now I’m home.
Emily Antimo Me too I keep telling myself after I'm done watching the episode I'd look for the song and I finally did after the mid season finale of 4 just now lol
I really haven't witnessed a drama series as effective and influencing as this one. One of the finest content that I have ever come across of . I wish if it would run longer .❤️
It is such an amazing show. I love the messages they get across to people too! Have you seen Good Trouble? That’s the “spin off” of The Fosters and it’s really good! It’s on Hulu :)
This song always breaks my heart, it's so beautiful and touching, I always get fluttery and wanna cry. Especially if you watch the show, you'll understand the meaning. "It's not where you come from is where you belong" that part just breaks my heart
Such a beautiful song. I looked for this song because of The Fosters, but have listened to it multiple times. It's easy to sing to and I love the message. I've been watching on Netflix and sing along to the theme every single time. Easily my new favorite song. Kari Kimmel has a hypnotic voice that I could listen to 24/7.
Sorry for asking, you don't have to answer if you don't want to or you're uncomfortable, but I'm just so curious. What happened after you were 7? Did you get adopted or go live with family or something? Again you don't have to answer.
Ashley Pruitt It's okay. When I was 3 I was taken from my mom. I was in foster care for a year and then I my grandma decided to take me and my two siblings in with her. We lived with her until I was around 7 or 8, I'm not sure. Then we moved back with my mom and have been ever since :))
Someone very special to me once sent me this song when I was having a really hard time and it hit me in just the right place and helped me feel a lot better. If you're reading this, thank you, Jaylah.
See this is what family is about. No matter how many set backs you have, no matter how many times you mess up or no matter what you do bad. Your family has you and is there. Nothing but unconditional love.
me and my boyfriend was watching the fosters and we both couldn't get enough of this song so now everytime we cuddle or have a bad day we put it on and it fixes everything for us. for awhile.
the fosters is such an amazing show... My mother is a certified foster mother and we've had a couple of foster children in our homes. It's insane what these children are put through in the system and the show captures that very well. ;; This song is also really amazing.
I showed this to my boyfriend and I knew the lyrics and I song them and b4 the song started I told him this song was for him. And he cryed 5 sec after the song started. I'm 11 years old and my mom told me that when I feel sad, alone, down, afraid, or like the whole world's against me or the kids at school pick on me to listen to this to help me remember that I'm not alone and that people do care about me and that no matter where I am not to forget where I come from

I am a father of two kids and I would like to adopt a child because I just feel it this way. I think that it is good for the children to grow with a parent to rely on, to share with, to be loved by, to be protected by. I can not imagine growing on your own. These kids are my heroes and inspiration. I am proud of their strength!
I honestly believe that the Fosters Has changed so many lives of foster kids and the way people look at them, we learn to respect them more and love them more. My fiancé was a foster kid until he aged out of the system, hes 19 now and he was through some really bad homes, he suffers from anxiety and Anger because of it now. But I believe it happened for a reason, it was God's plan for us to meet, and we bring each other so mucb happiness, I couldn't imagine life without him, It's a really beautiful song, I love the fosters!
This show is just amazing, was searching for a random show to watch and I found this show and gave it a chance, I'm glad I could have a relationship with a show that reminds me you are who you are and nobody can change that.
LOVE her voice. I love this song. I always used to sing this to my kitty when the show was coming on. the words just fit. it's been one yr today, I lost my sweet little boy to cancer, so now I sing it, & tears come, but am reminded of those times.💙 Thank you for this beautiful song!
I just found this song and it hit me hard. I grew up in foster care on and off my whole life. My foster family means the absolute world to me. My foster parents raised me. My foster mum taught me to read, put me in school and sports, supported me and took me travelling. My foster dad taught me to ride a bike, build things, fish, feeding farm animals. My foster sisters are the best support, their kids are my nephews and nieces. Even through all the hell they went through fighting for us kids. I love my other foster siblings who have come and gone too. I am close to only a couple of my actual family members and they love my foster family too. I am forever thankful especially since they will now be apart of my children’s lives as well and I’m happy they will have such a wonderful support system and grandparents. I now do not believe family is blood, it’s whoever is there for you unconditionally, someone who supports and cares about you. Someone you can trust with your life. With your kids.
this song is my fav because it reminds me of my bff I miss her a lot but I get see her in a few weeks this is Jillian my besty name is Maddie she like a sister to me we sung this song together a lot she the best 😃😃😃😃😃😃!!!!!!!!!!
I just started watching the fosters and I was like this song is really touching. I'm sorry to all those kids that have gone through foster care. My dad got re-married a couple years ago. My step- mom isn't so found of me and sometimes I don't feel like I belong in my own house. My step-siblings just aren't like blood siblings.
I found this song from the fosters. Over the summer of 2017 I got a new kitten he got extremely sick so many times my parents didn’t think he would make it but this song gave me hope again and he’s healthy and in amazing condition.

this song just hits hard. i don’t feel like i belong. or that i’m loved. i just want to feel...comfortable and loved in life and i just don’t have that. cherish it when you do have it

I have visited my birth parents a couple of times but I don't really like them especially since I found out that I got taken away from them because they would leave me home alone in my crib and the neighbors found me and called CPS on my parents. My parents left me for drugs. But I am happy with my new family. Keep in mind I have been in 13 different homes untill I finally found the right family.😀😥👪
I just saw kari singing this on Home & Family. Amazing vocals! I could honestly listen to her for hours. Just beautiful!
