I remember reading some memoirs of GPW vet who remembered as in training his instructor was silentrly messing with his (and the rest of the trainees) trim wheel in the air to see how would he react and if he'd remember this thing in flight. He did and rotated the thing back where it should have been -- and was commended for doing the right thing. So if anything, it's close to real life experience)

I'm pretty sure the J-11 isn't stealth in the way most people understand it (even if it's IRST allows it to be a bit more "operationally stealthy)
Correct, the military hardware nerd inside of me got mad when he said that the J-11 was "stealth." While the IRSTS does keep the EM down and it might have some R.A.M. like other Gen 4+ aircraft but it is not stealth.
Yeah China doesn't even claim it's stealthy. It's just a more advanced Su-27.

its actually a serious problem on GS, dudes reslot to save their K/D. admins don't actually punish people for doing it, one of their squadron members even got called VERY PUBLICLY out for doing it repeatedly even.

Well. The most important thing to know when flying IRL is that the handle between your legs is the “NOPE” button. If things go sideways or downwards and you didn’t want them to, you pull that.

Hey Drewski, have you heard of Air Combat USA? You spend a half-day with genuine Top Gun pilots going thru real combat maneuvers (which, i'm sure you are well-versed in) and then you go and fly with them in air-to-air simulated combat against other pilots with military-grade laser designators. Plus its all filmed for you to view later. I did it years ago when they came to a local airport in MA. I believe they use SF-260 Marchettis. The ABSOLUTE best time that I have ever had. EDIT: I checked on RUclips, looks like Ralfi did it!

As a fellow non-sleeper i too listen his videos in bed. Btw try meditation (headspace or similar apps) it really really helps if you do it consistently

You see a contrail of a bogey, the brevity call is "conning" instead of "marking". "Marking" is for friendlies. Also you had plenty of fuel left, 4000kg or so.

I'm a commercial pilot IRL. It'll be interesting seeing you transition from a desktop sim to an aircraft. A lot of simmers end up quitting flight training because they get motion sick, or there's a LOT more information and things you need to know off of the top of your head than you anticipated. Good luck jumping straight into a turbine powered high performance aircraft. Checklists and procedures happen fast. I think you're smart enough to handle it.

Get a FC3 Aircraft.
I believe the J-11/Su-27 is only ~$15.00. You can always wait for sales, as they often go down to around 50% off.
With the Su-27, I'm pretty sure you get the J-11 as well, since they're mostly the same plane. The J-11 has some small exterior differences, and can carry a missile that the Su-27 can't.

The trim problem happened to my Su-25T sometimes, I just hold my stick to wherever that gets my plane flying stable then turn on autopilot and remove my hand from the stick, let the stick recenter itself, and that somehow fixes the problem.
I really like this DCS stuff.

as someone who has gotten the equivalent of a learner's for aircraft sims do help but they don't prepare you for everything, more sim is better, practice flying by instruments just in case
Advice for nausea training get in a swivel chair and just spin until you puke every day

Air becomes compressible at 100m/s, not knots, I believe that translates to roughly 200 knots

If there is a racetrack near you, get some ride alongs in some faster cars or drift cars. Can get you enough G's to steel your stomach. Plus certain high speed go karts can get your neck swole to keep your head up. Just some ideas. Good luck!

You know you can pres the S key on the keybord to get higer manuverability (only works in Flanker (su-27, su-33 and j-11))
turns off your fly-by-wire, making the plane really unstable. DON’T do this at high speed
At 2:40 I think you accidentally turned on autopilot and it trimmed the aircaft all the way to the right because autopilot in this plane just trims you
Go up against Ralfi with that real fighter jet deal.
Also, remember that if you do go up there, positive g's are way more comfortable than pulling negative g's.
Did not think CW Lemoine would get laypeople into fighter jets to actually dogfight. I gotta go back to his channel and catch up damn.
