In this short tutorial, tech educator Andrew Tomec walks you through 3 of his favorite hacks -- simple techniques you can use to do things that SHOULD be impossible.

Andy's lip sync animations were created using our lip sync toolkit. If you want to try animating fun lip sync animations in your own projects, just visit our project page at scratch.mit.ed... and drag the lip sprite into your backpack. Deploy it in any project by removing your sprite's mouth and replacing it with the animated mouth.
To use the custom block, just type the sounds you want to speak into the white input bubble and edit the text by adding the number 5 to add a 0.5-second delay or a 1 to add a 0.1-second delay. See our lip sync video tutorial for complete instructions and examples. • Lip sync animation mag...

heres a better hack for going off screen:
go into the costumes of the sprite
place two tiny dots below the left and right bottom of the screen
this makes it to where scratch thinks its huge so it allows a bigger x number BUT it looks exactly the same
also you cant see the dots
3:44 there is another way to do it. Click a dot way farther than the original sprite. Make sure to do it in vector and tada you can move without doing the infinite size thing

or you can make a giant square that is invisible and it will work the same without seeing anything

For getting a sprite outside the area, you can create an invisible box around the costume and it will work the same. I use this tip in my own game.
Since tlscratch detects hovering can it detects mouse down instead of click

Hi! Yes, this it's an old channel that I'm planning to start putting new content on just for teachers. I've mostly been making videos for kids, but there are things about coding that I'd like to explain to teachers as well ... stuff that probably wouldn't interest your average kid.
