Prince Solomon, with his closest man, Ibrahim Pargam Ibrahim receives the bad news in a hunt. His father Yavuz Sultan Selim Khan passed away. Prince Suleyman sets out for Istanbul without waiting. Prince Süleyman quickly reaches the capital. He attends the culus ceremony without waiting. His life changed in one day. He started his life as Sultan Süleyman.
Meanwhile, a galley loaded with slaves coming over the Black Sea is heading towards Istanbul. The hottest of the slaves is not yet aware that he is on a journey that will change his destiny. He is rebelling helplessly to return.
Sultan Süleyman wants to show what kind of sultan he is by the commands he gave on the first day of his sultanate. But not everyone will like these decisions. Sultan Süleyman does not hesitate to challenge all of Europe with the messages he sends.
Alex, despite all his rebellion, is brought to the Topkapi palace. His attitude attracted the attention of Valide Sultan from the first moment. But it won't be long before Alex learns the rules of the palace. He chooses a great target. Alex, Sultan Suleyman's first night on the way to attract his attention. Sultan Suleiman's wife Mahidevran just arrived from the palace of Manisa. He is looking forward to seeing his wife.
Şehzade Süleyman, en yakın adamı Pargalı İbrahim ile birlikte çıktığı bir avda alır kötü haberi. Babası Yavuz Sultan Selim Han vefat etmiştir. Şehzade Süleyman hiç beklemeden, İstanbul’a doğru yola çıkar. Şehzade Süleyman hızla payitahta ulaşır. Hiç beklemeden cülus törenine katılır. Bir günde hayatı değişmiş. Sultan Süleyman olarak padişahlık hayatına başlamıştır.
Bu sırada, Karadeniz üzerinden içi köle yüklü bir kadırga, İstanbul’a doğru gelmektedir. Kölelerden en ateşli olanı ise, kaderini değiştirecek olan yolculuğa çıktığının henüz farkında değildir. Geri dönmek için çaresiz bir şekilde isyan etmektedir.
Sultan Süleyman, padişahlığının ilk gününde verdiği buyruklarla nasıl bir padişah olduğunu göstermek ister. Ama bu kararlar herkesin hoşuna gitmeyecektir. Sultan Süleyman ise gönderdiği mesajlarla, tüm Avrupa’ya meydan okumaktan çekinmez.
Alex, tüm isyankarlığına rağmen, Topkapı sarayına getirilir. Onun bu tavrı ilk andan itibaren Valide Sultan’ın dikkatini çeker. Ama Alex’in sarayın kurallarını öğrenmesi uzun sürmez. Kendisine büyük bir hedef seçer. Alex, Sultan Süleyman’ın karşısına çıktığı ilk gecede onun ilgisini çekmeyi başarır. Sultan Süleyman’ın eşi Mahidevran ise Manisa sarayından yeni gelmiş. Eşi ile görüşmeyi sabırsızlıkla beklemektedir.

Knowing what Hatice becomes just makes me mad. Hurrme was 100% spot on, don't be mad bc everyone told you Ibrahim was trash and you fell for his trap anyway. You aren't stuck with him but oh yeah, sure let's play the big strong girl and stick with an adulterer instead of divorcing. Like that's Hurrem's problem.
Except suleiman is an adulterer too and hurrem actually does have to stay with him because everything she has he gave her.

She wanted to get rid of Hurrem because she realized Hurrem is trying to get rid of her husband and take all the power in her arms. She thought she is a threat. Why no one understands it.

Right. Hatice is brokenhearted and bitter and instead of taking it out on her should be ex husband she'll go after her brother's wife. Make it make sense, girl.
It's not a love story. Hatice was a princess , so she needed less effort. Hurrem was a concubine. She gave a lot of effort to be with Suleiman, be the mother of 4 princes and finally to be the walide Sultan. She passed all her life to manipulate sultan with her tricky brain with beauty.
It's all about survival and having power. No ethics, no morality, no love
It wasn't just any love letter though, was it? It was a poem by Muhibbi to his lover. For Hurrem, the love poems were exclusively written for her. Hatice really twisted the knife by telling Hurrem that she was no longer young and beautiful. Yet Hatice overplayed her hand in erasing the name from the letter. Smart cookie that she is, Hurrem figured out that the mysterious lover must still be alive.
Despite being against Hurrem this entire series, this is the scene where I didn't like Hatice! Body shaming another fellow woman who became "old" giving birth to your bloodline, to continue YOUR dynasty! Being a mother, specially to princes and princesses are not an easy task, if she became "old" by becoming a mother I call that beauty! And physical beauty is not the only thing that attract a husband to his wife, thank God this scene was fictional.

They added this character just to spice up the drama cause in real history after marrying hurrem suleiman never slept with another woman. He even finished the harem system and married those slaves or concubines to pashas and other important people
yeah it makes me more interested to learn the real story.. I wish there was more in english... but I tried to watch before most of them were translated to english and had to come back a year later to watch the english ones

Hurrem knew that she loved Suleiman truly and that would melt his heart for her. The greatest pain is to see someone you love with someone else. All the palace people wanted to ruin their relationship but hurrem won . She won . Her love won.
Hurrem didn't truly loved Suleyman, neither did he loved her. There is no place for real love in such cruel circumstances. Everything is just fight for life and survival. She is highly manipulative and seductive, and knows he is her way to survive there. And he only loves himself, and according to that he actually loves Hurrem's love and devotion to him and not her herself.
This is another of those moments where Hatice thinks she's being clever and just...isn't. She had managed to arrange everything to perfection, yet decided to tip her hand and ruin it all for some cheap, quick gratification that will serve her nothing in the long run.

I hated her because her plot line was such a hot mess with her characterization all over the place and no clear ending. Like there should've been no way for her to escape notice as a spy when the backstory she gave could be so easily disproven. It felt like lazy writing and, regardless, something that, timing wise, would have made more sense *before* Hurrem's marriage to Suleiman.
