Well they say theres no addictive SUBSTANCE in weed, but having an addictive personality is what makes it seem so. A lot of those people work in repetition and dont favor change, and weed is a part of routine. Rolling a blunt becomes ritual and scheduled, you start smoking to improve food enjoyment, for sleep, for headaches ( i cough too much so this wouldnt work for me personally ) they smoke socially, they smoke when theyre alone, before work, after work, to help focus when studying or engaging with tv. Theres no substance that you get latched onto but WE as humans can latch ourselves onto habit. So its correct to say weed isnt addictive. But that isnt saying you cant be addicted, its just saying its on you. Not the drug. If you had a different personality, and some discipline that might jot otherwise be there, it becomes abundantly clear that theres no actual addiction of that kind. That and people who depend on being high to get through a day NOT because withdrawal, but anxiety and not liking interacting with people, or whatever the case is. That can make you depend on it to function. So once more, that would be them and their dependence on it to make those things easier, and it becomes habit. then when they dont have it for that they get mad. Its not withdrawal in that sense, its just inconvenient that you ran out lol. Some people weed is like their phone. A blunt is always in their hands.

From my experience it really works excellently! It doesnt even need to be a full hit. With potent shrooms 2-3 small ones will still make a clear difference. It will be a few hour cosy rumbling moment around rest time, but afterwards its just calm and you feel amazing and gain your freedom. Psilocybin is different dudes, its the only "treatment" I would recommend to someone who genuinely wants to get better. There is no addiction, withdrawal, or negative side effects. It's just pure healing., far more effective than any anti-depressant. You can thank me later,

I was horrifically depressed since childhood. It was relentless. I assumed it would ultimately end me somehow. About twelve years ago I randomly accepted the offer from a friend of a few doses of mushrooms. I did them two consecutive nights alone. First night was pretty mild. The second night? Wow. I saw my depression from every angle, realized much. Next day: depression totally gone. Never came back, never coming back. It's like it's a forest far away I can remember, and could probably find again with enough effort, but it has zero impact on anything in my life or mind. They honestly saved my life and improved it immensely. I never did them again, either. I wish there was a good, organized way to administer them to people who would benefit from them.

The stories of people having to inject between their toes and getting gangrene, or having some other shit happen and getting spinal ulcers (I don’t remember the specifics I just know it was horrific) are more than enough to make me never want to do drugs. There are so many ways to make drugs seem terrible, and we’re just not using them.

      [quick grammar edit]
Okay, I'm sorry you're the comment section I'm going off in, but it seemed apt tbh. So here's the drug education i wish i could give everyone (American centric obv)
First, my credentials for speaking on this topic: i currently smoke and grow weed legally, but did not actually smoke weed until i was 28 years old. That said, i lived with a drug dealer in Florida for ten years. I have spoken to druggies from all walks of life, i have tried a lot of drugs. Almost all of those drugs were prescription. So let get into this, shall we?
So one thing i like to make clear is drug related crimes are only a felony because of racism. Essentially, black people got the vote, and suddenly people wanted to crack down on drugs, aka make it a felony, as felons cannot vote. Related, most black people were very poor, almost as if they were living in a society directly opposed to their entire existence. There is a common misconception that poor people are more likely to do drugs, but in this day and age, I don't imagine it will surprise anyone to hear the accurate version is simply "poor people are easier to arrest."
On this same topic, you know Sherlock Holmes? He was not MEANT to be an "addict" character. The drugs he used were, at the time, about on the level of cigarettes. Known to be probably harmful, kind of a bad boy thing, but not illegal, and not life destroying.
In fact, historically, humans have ALWAYS been doing drugs. And i mean that fully and 100% literally. We have, (probably) been doing drugs since before we evolved into homo sapiens. Look up "drunk animals" some time. There are countless animals who, given the opportunity, get absolutely fucked up with no hesitation. Dolphins, bears, every single bird ever. Cows! Monkeys, of course. I don't just mean the ones getting it from humans either (like monkeys who smoke or those bears who keep breaking into jet fuel containers) i mean, fermented fruit? Like, the precursor to wine? That happens naturally, all the time. Not ALL the time, but if fruit is left to rot, it can mold or it can ferment. I mean, grossly oversimplifying, this is already an essay lmao
The point is, the only drugs that are illegal are drugs who's main "purpose" is fun. There's tons of legal drugs. You get them with a prescription, or over the counter. Tylenol and ibuprofen are SUPER HARMFUL lmao. Tylenol has killed a bunch of people! So why are certain drugs illegal?
Because we can prove that the war on drugs? The drugs won. Or more accurately, the drug cartels. We have proven time and again that fearmongering and abstinence preaching are worse than ineffectual, they actively make it worse.
As always, the correct answer is...education. It's taking precautions, but allowing people to make educated and informed decisions, whilst stopping other people from taking advantage of them. If we made the bad drugs controlled substances and distributed them as we do all our other drugs, we'd have a lot less people dying from drugs.
I've known ER nurses, and in the middle of this, I'd like to share with you what they've told me they want you to know: If you come to them for help, they will not rat you out. They just want to save your life. To add to that, as someone who's poor: call the ambulance, go to the er. Go let them save your life. They'll send you a bill. You'll ignore it. You'll have bad credit. It'll suck. You'll be alive.
To that effect, one of the big things people ACTUALLY trying to help drug addicts, is simply making safe places for people to go do drugs. Just somewhere anonymous you can just be near other people, you can have someone there to, at the very least, call an ambulance.
Drug addiction is a health issue, not a moral one.
Also like, don't talk about addiction and then be okay with cigarettes which are literally chemically engineered to maximize addiction. At least with weed, it's generally just the plant, maybe some paper.
If we didn't make These Certain Drugs out to be evil, we could just...responsibly do drugs!!! Drink responsibly! Get high responsibly!!!!!!
Do your research, and watch out for bias, external and internal!!! Question WHY things are illegal, question everything y'all!!!
And on the "how to say no" to drugs?
If you got nothing else from this rant, get this:
As your gay aunt who smokes weed and rescues animals, if anyone offers you drugs and you say no, and they do not accept that no? You remember me, and you hear me, you do not need that person's like or respect. You tell them no and if they try to force the issue, you tell them to fuck off. That said, if a drug user is offering drugs, they just wanna hang out with you usually. They are also probably already high. They probably aren't trying to pressure you, they're just trying to be nice and being annoyingly persistent. I actually find this very cute generally, so i don't have good advice, but generally like. Just keep saying no!!! It's okay they're not gonna get mad they're too high they probably just forgot if they asked. In social smoking and the like it's considered rude to "hog the pipe" so we tend to be like oh my bad did you want some?? Like, if you were sitting there eating cookies with someone who didn't want cookies... wouldn't you feel kinda bad!!! They're just trynna share the vibe you don't actually have to partake!!!! If anyone Actually tries to make you though, cause there ARE those assholes! I offer you my secret weapon, as someone who seems like a pushover: pinch them. Back of the hand, front of the shoulder, like upper hip area, just somewhere easy to grab a lil skin. Not a BAD pinch. But if they DON'T stop then, progressively worse pinches is a good compromise between outright violence. And if the time comes for outright violence, gut punch, as is tradition.
Alright I'm spent, thanks for coming to my tedtalk, genuinely feel free to ask me about my educated drug opinions. Just know if ur a dick i do bite back

Confirmation bias. Only people with those level of struggles end up with a nurse. Healthy people that didn’t have those issues won’t end up in your stories.
      Drugs are not inherently bad.
Alcohol not being on the list despite being the number one killer tells you all you need to know about this video. Shallow, superficial, and clearly just enforcing the social images they want to.
They mentioned how their morality was dictated by cops or something like that as a joke, but what’s ironic is that they clearly did let other people dictate their morality to that level.

The stuff I take is significantly better than the myraid of bottles of prescriptions I used to take; things that once made me a nervous wreck with an inability to function properly since they all conflicted with one another.
Im not saying meds are bad.... and hell, I was prescribed opioids after my wisdom teeth surgery since my jaw bone was destroyed, and I couldn't talk for 2 months because it hurt so bad... but pushing this strong shit for things that could be solved with water and an acetaminophen or two should be criminal.

I can’t take a lot of stuff because my digestive tract is super messed up and after a lot of trial and error, I seem to be the safest with opioids and Tylenol. If I could take anything else, I would because I hate the stigma. I’ve tried weed on multiple occasions and hate it. It makes me super paranoid and panicked, I absolutely did not feel better and I got tired of being told how I was doing it wrong: wrong strain, wrong method of consumption (inhaling vs. eating, etc), did too much, didn’t do enough, it was always something. I don’t even feel comfortable trying again because my experience mentally was just awful and, again, no relief in any way. I still get suggested and just, no. No, I can’t do it again.

Second thing-I have, for numerous reasons, one of which is fear of the law, been terrified of trying non prescription drugs. One of my deep seated fears is not being able to know what’s going on around me, and for my perception of my environment to be compromised. Recently, one of my parents came across an article headline saying ‘some hallucinogens can be used to treat something-or-other-I-don’t-remember, but can be dangerous for certain individuals and cause things like permanent psychosis’ and was like ‘oof, not for us, since your grandfather had bipolar disorder, we are some of the people who would be at risk.’ And I was like ‘damn, that’s scary that something pretty harmless for some people can just fuck up someone’s brain so badly.’
Later, hanging out with my brother, I mentioned that text interaction. And he said ‘oh yeah, that’s what happened to [one of his childhood best friends]’ and I just stopped walking. ‘What?’ ‘Yeah, he can’t live on his own, his family has to take care of him full time. Fortunately they’re well-off and they care about him.’
But like. What a fucking gut punch

I will point one thing out, the bad trip statistic isnt the same thing as "fucking up your mental health pretty bad", i for evample didnt start having bad trips until my life was going bad but i didnt realize how bad my life was going, and it was only after i had suddenly gone from always having a good time to 3 bad trips in a row. On the third i figured something most be wrong that im freaking out so bad. Turns out my heart rate was chilling at 120 bpm most of the day and my chordisol level was through the roof, i had gained 30 pounds in those months i thought maybe i was just eating shit and not realizing it, no i just had very high stress levels and been getting anxiety multiple times a day. I thought the anxiety was just a weird chest pain. Once i got that sorted out and i went right back down to normal 6 months later. Took a trip after that and had a wonderful time again. Moral of the story? If you get anxious smoking weed, dont fucking touch psychedelics. If youve never done psychedelics, dont tell people you have and take some. If yall arent ready then dont take it. I recommend yall start with dmt. U can take a very small amount which will feel and look like lsd but will only last 10 to 20 minutes. Otherwise stick to dreaming and having fevers for weird visuals

I wouldn't describe DMT as being a good intro, while sure a vape hit will give a brief high you have significantly less time to process what's going on and measured dosing is virtually infeasible. Better options (based on availability) would probably be iprocin, miprocin, or really just psilocybe assuming their potency is measured so you can measure alkaloid content by dry weight.

This is good advice other than the DMT. I don't recommend that for inexperienced people. Microdosing on mushrooms from a reliable source might be a good start for someone who is nervous and wants to ease in.

      @ComsicHatM 8 месяцев назад

@@chrisashtonlightell-west1189 no see, that's the idea, see the thing is about n-n-dmt is that it has no effects on the body, only the body, you can put it in a pen and only take one small hit. You will not blast off, it takes alot at once for that. The lower doses of dmt is quite similar to lsd but the effects will still only last minutes, vs lsd which lasts 12+ hours. Low doses of shrooms could be alright. But the stomach pains some people can have everytime they fo shrooms no matter what can send some people into a bad time. Shrooms to me are the highest level of difficulty. Because they can sneak up on you, even at a low dose. Dmt can't, if you measure your dose, you will not get too high. If you stick it in a pen and keep the wattage low, you'll never be able to blast off no matter how much you hit it. I use dmt carts at raves because I can get a little high and enjoy visuals but be sober in a few minutes to go get some water and maybe a snack

    • @ComsicHatM
      @ComsicHatM 8 месяцев назад

@@chrisashtonlightell-west1189 there is alot of tricks you can do with psychedelics. For example, do you want to trip the whole time but also be able to talk and meet people? Low dose of molly or sally (I recommend you havent done molly for 3 months at least) and u can take up to 300ug of lsd and be completely capable of assessing your surroundings. If you don't know what sally is, its MDA. it's the first love drug and it's exactly the same as molly. It's called sally because it's straight up extracted from the sassafras plant. But it became illegal quickly and molly came out and stayed legal for a few years. Even though sally is easier to make and has the same effects, it is not as well known.

I really don't agree with saying if you get anxious from weed you'll necessarily have a bad trip from psychedelics. Weed gives me legit mind melting schizo breakdowns, but even my worst trip on shrooms was just feeling a bit somber and reflective about my past, no spiraling meltdowns or anything. At the end of the day every substance is different, just don't do shit you genuinely don't like or think you'll enjoy

All has to do with bioavailability, IV is generally 100% and IM/SC are a close second in the high 90s (usually 95%-98%) plus onset is quicker, if not essentially instantaneous. Doubt they knew that, lot of people just see a needle and jump to wild conclusions smh. I have to add tho: If you start to take psychedelics, especially like LSD, DMT, 5-meo-dmt and stuff, you brain changes so much that in fact the high you get from weed changes a lot. In fact, ever since i took LSD for the first time (took mushrooms before a lot, didn't have an impact) my perception of weed changed so much that now if i take high doses of Cannabis, it actually somewhat feels like a psychedelic trip with very subtile visual hallucinations.

Another reasonable excuse to avoid taking psychedelics (or a plethora of similar things) is "I've got a family history of psychosis and really don't want to risk it." Could even add in, "My (mom/dad) took that and it caused HPPD that ultimately resulted in a diagnosis of schizophrenia. 20 years later, still needs meds to control the unwanted visual distortions." There's also, "Can't, I'm on a prescription and I've looked it up, there's a dangerous interaction warning if I take that." That actually works for anything, for everything recreational, there's something available via prescription or even OTC that can't be mixed with it. Everything else is pretty easy, simple as "I'm good, tried it before and just felt overly sleepy/anxious/paranoid/speedy/uncomfortable, got zero euphoria unfortunately." Tbh, if you have a spine you don't need some excuse, what you choose to do is on you and anybody who can't understand that will after getting shouted at lol
Funny thing is that I'm actually strongly against prohibition and could care less what adults take, that's their right imo. I just don't like peer pressure, choice goes both ways. Regardless of if you want to enjoy the night whacked out on everything under the sun or completely sober, that's a personal choice nobody has the right to criticize. When it stops being something that's used to enjoy life and starts becoming something to escape or gets in the way of normal life, that's when it's a problem, moderation is key. It's the difference between having a few beers after work and drinking at work, "drinking" can be replaced with anything else including just behaviors and the core concept is still the same.

It was honestly such a nice time, I got so much creative work done and had a chance to breathe that I didn't know I was missing. Still, it's very important, even if you're taking something safe and well-regulated, make sure you know what you're doing beforehand and don't go overboard. 1. you zone out of reality as if your trying to think of something but you dont realize your in a deep thought then reality shifts back to normal then this repeats constantly
    2. you think about the universe really hard trapped in this state of zoning in and out
    3. existential crisis
    4. food seems really good
    5. you realize its been 5 hours when youve lost all concept of time and to you it felt like either infinity or 30 minutes

I've tried psychedelics quite a few times. For a few weeks after any trip, cannabis will be extremely psychedelic itself. I've had full blown hallucinations that existed within reality from only cannabis. Like I could walk up to the patterns and lies I was seeing.
I've also had mild flashbacks to a psychedelic experience. Like something can trigger me to start tripping. Hasn't happened in years, but the last time it did happen, I was on the phone with my dad... Took a bong hit, and just something he said made my mind start tripping lol.

Believe it or not the “unicorns and rainbows” drugs have been highly contested for their medicinal purposes recently. I knew a guy who fixed his PTSD by himself on mushrooms with a RUclips video. The psychedelic drugs are rarely addictive and if used in correct doses in controlled environments can produce some surprising results

    • @A-twentysix
      @A-twentysix 8 месяцев назад +2

@@Doylie4122 that’s true, but these drugs don’t cause physical dependence like alcohol or nicotine. Plus they have like a built-in cool down. Immediately after the trip if you take another right away it’ll be as if you took a quarter of your original dose but after 2 weeks or so you’ll be back to normal, so that discourages a lot of psychological addiction potential

Not saying, you should take it, that depends on your state of mind, your mental health history, and weather or not u want to. I’m just saying they’re not the villain the media makes them appear. And if you correctly (in moderation and therapeutic settings) they can be incredibly beneficial.

Taking it for my PMS has also helped me get better at predicting when my period starts! It's a matter of tracking your habits and being mindful.
Also, Tugg, visual hallucinations are more common with mushrooms. I have those occasionally as well, but that’s for spiritual reasons.

I actually have had borderline trips on weed before, especially edibles. Its not super common, were isolated cases, but still. Course ive also had actual trips, some of which changed my life for the better, but ive also had friends be put into complete psychosis by the same drug sooo theyre to be taken with caution and a level of mental openess you didnt think was possible until it becomes necessary to survive the trip.
I would sort of count myself as one of the 'hippie' types you mentioned, but im not going to push someone to try any of those items. Ive never done stuff like molly because im not there to get a euphoric rush. I’ve eaten excessively dosed edibles and honestly the hallucinogenic effects are very underwhelming, walls breathing slightly, object seems to move on it’s own for a couple secs, but not much more than that. Delta-9-thc is only a partial agonist at cannabinoid receptors, which means hallucinations are rare and only really present at extremely high doses, but full agonists of cannabinoid receptors like JWH-018 (spice) can make you have really unpleasant and intense hallucinations.

As a recovering heroin/fentanyl addict. He is very right about the pills. It does take awhile to become addicted in the sense of having withdrawals. And by that time its to late. Your physically dependent and the withdrawals are so bad you cant imagine willingly going through that so you keep using to avoid the sickness and over time you start to lose your moral compass you start considering more questionable things to get money to get more. And it can start with a legal prescription, that your not warned about ahead of time( now it may be different doctors may be better about warning people now, I've been off pills for 10 years) and that can lead to other drugs. Because you run out of your pills and turn to other things like heroin. Sometimes you end up addicted because you DO take your meds the way your supposed to but after awhile you will build a tolerance and it won't work anymore and then the withdrawals Happen. It's a horrible thing to go through ive struggles with addiction for yeara, my whole family are addict. I lost my mom to an overdose. And i genuinely hope that the situation improves soon. Youll never get rid of addiction all together but it could be better than it is.

something that people don't talk about enough (i think): you can form addictions to technically non-addictive substances, or behaviors, if you start using them as a coping mechanism. if it's something you use to get through life and you feel you couldn't cope otherwise, it's an addiction. this isn't necessarily harmful, depending on what you're doing, but it's good to be aware, and make sure your coping mechanisms aren't harming you or the people around you in any way
so, particularly if the substance or whatever it is has addictive properties to begin with, however mild they are, it can be a dangerous game to play. some people also struggle with addiction more than others, just because their brains are wired that way, i think
(these are all my own opinions and observations, speaking from the perspective of ongoing recovery from an ED and SH and a fascination with psychology. some research but no experience with drugs. knowing my tendencies and limits, if i started doing drugs i would probably never stop)
