The Yogas in Vedic Astrology

In this video Craig reviews the concept of yogas in Vedic astrology. Yogas are planetary combinations that "yoke" an individual to the events indicated in their chart. Understanding and interpreting yogas is key for an astrologer as the yogas reveal the fate life has in store for the person on their path in life.
The main focus of my video is an overview of Parashara’s formula for judging a planet’s potential to give the effects of its yogas. This formula is presented in his book, Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra.
How weak or strong a karma will be in a person’s life depends on the strength of the planets that are bringing that yoga into fruition. The function of the astrologer is to judge the strength of a yoga by judging the strength and capacity of the planets creating that yoga and determine to what extent that yoga will be a part of that person’s life experience. Knowing and understanding the various components of Parashara’s formula is instrumental for an astrologer to interpret the Karmic fruit a yoga is bringing into the person’s life.
