Craig I have a large balcony with pigeons pooping on it. Just bought some plastic and stainless steel spikes but I don’t want to attach with the bonding material so going to try some cable ties. But my question is how do I insert the ss spikes into the plastic base? I don’t know how to do that bit I have tried but unsure where to put the spikes properly and also the spikes don’t go in all the way and stick out about an inch below the plastic is that because the spikes are too big? I bought them in a box all together so they must fit somehow but how.? Would appreciate a video of you inserting the spikes in the plastic please. Sorry if you already how one only just found your site. Thanks
Hey thanks for the question, the only bird spikes that I have ever used are a one-piece system. The way you can attach the bird spike varies. You can use a glue bond, screws or as you mentioned zip ties. Hope this helps if not let me know what type of spike you have and maybe I can help.
@@howtopest4680 thank you I managed to insert the spikes ok in the end and attached with a few cable ties but I think the blue bags have kept the pigeons away thankfully. I can’t leave the bags up all the time as neighbours wouldn’t be keen so am awaiting blue ribbon to try that next week, but the bags have been excellent. 👍
Yes, you will want to use the 8" Bird Spikes and a strong glue like the E6100! Thanks so much for watching! howtopest.com/product/bird-b-gone-stainless-steel-bird-spikes-50-ft/ howtopest.com/product/e6100-pro-grade-adhesive/

@@jtate333 Great to hear!
I need to do this for vultures. What size spike do I need? And will normal soft shingles work with glue?
