It is always refreshing and encouraging to see the bits and pieces that actually make up each part of planning from a seasoned sailor... thanks for all this that you constantly do, with such flat-out sincerity, loaded with experience, and peppered with examples. Seriously different from what are now "travel vlogs"... just look and follow, not explaining much anymore, skipping the how and why, and not actually teaching the sailing parts whenever there is sailing... maybe it is too repetitive? Okay, it is SAILING, there are repetitive procedures, just as in any other occupation! I believe that once the people n the sailing channel you're watching, stops teaching you how to sail, and just becomes a full-time travel agent, the sailing part is gone.... at least the minimum amount of good knowledge for sailing should be shared EVERY TIME.... just like you do... thanks... really thanks!
Spot on..thats exactly how we have been planning this trip we are on. The only thing I would add, If I may be so bold, is to look at tides and especially currents. We were caught off guard by a cut that had tons of current, and it was very scary; a boat behind us crashed into the rocks because of a strong tide in a cut. Good stuff though...these are the videos I wish we had before we were in the middle of it lol.
I thought you were going to walk through a hypothetical route and show what kind of weather conditions / tides you’re looking for to plan a day trip / overnight / whatever. Maybe a future video. Also, provisioning. Maybe common sense, but what would you get for an island hopping adventure, or better yet, what would you avoid? Assume we have all taken your advice and are sitting at whatever dock in our brand new to us Oceanis 38.1, as a couple, getting ready to go on our first adventure. Just an idea for future videos.
Hi Chris, I always enjoy your videos. I am looking forward to getting back on the water with my next sailboat. I am about 6 months away from being able to sign up for your consulting package.
Thinking through the hazards of poor rout planning. How often have you gotten forced into a harbor or marina that is way to expensive to realistically dock for long? A marina that you could not stay at because it was too expensive for cruisers?

Thanks Chris. I don’t miss an episode and have learned a ton watching your channel. This episode, as usual, did not disappoint. Good stuff in here.
Always amazed at your easily understood and practical information. Keep it up.

Thanks abunch! You've made me and many others so much more aware of what resources are available and how to use them.
Thanks rich

Ngl, finding deserted islands sounds super fun! But I also road trip with random detours/destinations on land, it feels more adventurous
Agree, I've drove cross country 6 times. Deserted islands are exactly as you said , deserted for a reason
😢thanks Chris
Thanks Chris , much appreciated
Thank you

Happens far to often if you have not planned your route properly
Knowledge and experience shows, thanks.
@ABC gang wish I was 22
@@abcgang8048 so, you're saying he's old? 🤣
