Wow I bought the Govee immersion thing like a year ago but still haven’t set it up yet. I didn’t t know you could connect it to additional lights. I really need to stop being lazy and get this going. Thanks!
This is a new feature that was not available when the original govee tv solutions came out. If you have the older units they are NOT compatible with this. The dream view button will show in the app, but pressing it will direct you to buying the newest TV unit only.
@@crisdeguzman8786 true but you can make a support ticket on their app and they will send you a new sync box. It took a while to get to me but it’s free
I also make sure gaming mode is disabled, so the transitions are less distracting and appear to flicker as there is latency. I've also set the brightness down for zones further away from the TV so that they add atmosphere but don't look like a projection across the entire room
Just FYI look at the directions before sticking the lights onto the TV. It requires you start in one of two specific corners or things won't line up correctly. I put mine in upside down at first and had to peel everything back off. Definitely love these lights and wish Govee would make a similar kit for monitors/small TVs
Good catch! I think you can either start at the bottom right or left but then you always go up and then around from there. I assumed they did have something for monitors but sounds like you don't think they do? I would think there is for sure a market for that!
Hey I’ve had this set for a little over a year. Every once in a while it’s Alexa compatibility and routine gets messed up so I always refer back to your video when I need to “debug” the app/alexa routine. Great video and it’s straight to the point. Appreciate you!
EXACTLY the video I've been looking for! I got the Govee TV T2 and I wasn't sure how to add more lights to expand t he effects. YOU just clarified it. Thank you!
Great video thank you. I love the lights immediately around the TV, but I think the other 2 zones you added are just a bit to distracting with action scenes. I will be buying the base kit.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! Yeah the lights are not for everyone. I mostly have everything turned on when listening to music that have static background images so that its a nice ambiance without all the flashing lights.
Thanks so much for watching. I'm still waiting to see if Govee can provide me with a list of all their products that currently support the Dreamview function. I'll let you know If I get a list here soon!
Right now I have confirmed it is only the newest TV product. The older ones with the previous two camera designs are NOT compatible. This may change in the future, but govee's track record of adding features to older models is not great. Govee has more SKUs than taco bell has hot sauce packet quotes. This is their business model. A great example is when they released their Lifx bar clones. The original design included only one angled piece and could only be assembled in one direction. Later they added more features to the bar lights but this required you to purchase the pro version... Then they did it again and it required you to purchase the super duper pro version. Even though there is no reason the older units couldn't get the updates. Once you get as deep into the govee ecosystem as I am you start to realize how much you are being screwed over. A person that never owned a led bar system before isn't going to know any different though and will probably be happy.
Chris does really great videos. This is another one. I'd like to see an overview of the govee app some time. I think people don't try to use it or give it much thought until they actually buy a govee unit. Having prior knowledge of the experience the app gives might be beneficial to viewers.
Thanks so much for watching! Yeah, the tv looks very small in the far away shots. I never thought a 65" tv would appear small but I think I could for sure do a 75" next time!
I think its probably the location that makes it look small. Try centering on a wall and watch it magically grow! I work with shapes and angles for a living lol
Yeah it is pretty crazy how easy it is to sync everything together and at least I was very impressed with how responsive it all was! Thanks for watching as always buddy!
OK, this is what I was looking for. I was concerned if I got the dreamview/light bar bundle I would be limited to just those small bars. Now I see I can expand out to the floor lamps for whenever I get those. Thanks for the info.
First of all: Huge thank you! Because of you I added the Hexa to my T1. Question: Does your Hexa turn off in color when your picture is black? Mine are green then. I would say this is an issue. How about you?
@@ChrisMaherDIY Ah okay! What I found out: Stsrt with brightnesslevel 1 and go higher step by step. First it wil be dark, but then it starts to become green. I got mine at around 19% now. It's interesting how high you can go before it starts to display a color. :)
Govee's music modes are pretty useless since when the music is quiet govee finds it necessary to trigger a completely unrelated animation mode when in reality the LEDs should just turn off. For a kid's room though it will probably be fine, but will annoy most people as it's not what you think should happen for a sound reactive mode. There is no way mitigating this. I have even contacted govee and although their representatives have been responsive it doesn't look like this will be changed any time soon. Hopefully this comment triggers some cosmic energy and I am proven wrong like within a day. I'm not holding breath though lol.
With the Govee brand, since its a camera, it will work with anything that is on your tv. Doesn't matter what, it will work. There is a gaming mode you can turn on which increases the reacting time to the lights changing. Thanks so much for watching!
I wanted to know what videos you used to test the tv, they all looked great but I can't find those videos at all, is there a term that would fit their description?
Thanks so much for watching! I mostly just searched on RUclips for Philips hue demo, govee immersion test, ambilight test. Here is one that I used in the video where I test the Govee t2 and its probably my favorite demo! ruclips.net/video/hOymzpel2rs/видео.html
Thanks so much for watching! Yes you will. This setup does not affect anything that you currently have running on your tv. There are other products out there that have a sync box that might effect those things since you have to run everything through that box but for this setup, you just keep everything as is.
Thanks for the video, and just subscribed. I have a dark gray back wall for my tv and stil wondering if worth it for my situation, but this was one of the best overview videos I have seen.
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! For sure the dark gray wont pop as much but I'd say its for sure worth ordering it, testing it out and if it does not look good, just return it.
Lol yeah if I were to do it again I'd probably do it above the fireplace. I think at the time I read somewhere that having the tv too high is bad for your neck. (I also think the challenge of installing it through the rock also might have played into the decision lol) Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment!
@@ChrisMaherDIY Agreed you'll probably need a pro to run power behind the brick there. 100% right about tilting your neck up as well. I watched this video because i'm looking to do something similar to my projection setup. Can you string a few of these together for larger installations? I have a 120 inch projection screen.
@@terrification thanks for the info! Govee said they don't work on projectors although I have not tested it out so I'm not exactly sure why it wouldn't. Even if it could work, your not able to splice a couple together to fit a larger screen than what the kit is made for. All the programming is setti work with specific size range. I have seen a couple diy version people have made on RUclips that look amazing and I hope to someday be able to do a diy one myself!
Really love your unique setup! Although I am noticing the govee display a purple hue when there is no purple on the screen… are you seeing this as well?
Thanks so much for watching and yeah I notice that too. For sure check your white balance and saturation and play around with those but I mostly notice it during dark scenes where instead of just turning off the leds (must be something that cant be done at a software level) they have it set to display a purplish type color.
I have my TV above the fireplace and would like to do something like this. My question is the shelves are 3 levels high, so could I split the led light strips and run them all off of one unit, or would each level of shelves need its own set of lights?
Thanks so much for watching and great question! So in my experience working with the Govee M1, I was able to cut them into different lengths and re-connect them with extension wire and they all ran perfectly off one controller. Now I obviously have not tried every possible combination of how you can cut them and re connect them, but at least the iteration that I tried, it worked perfectly!
Yeah I could for sure go into more detail on the setup and show some of the more features. But for a quick tip, keep the saturation to around 15 -20% and the White balance at around 40%. At least that's what I did to get what I thought was the most accurate color calibration for my tv!
Hello, I'm from Poland and I'm sorry for the translation. I have a question for an expert in this field. I have a Govee TV Backlight T2, I just bought a Lyra lamp: Govee RGBICW Smart Corner Floor Lamp, I want to buy more: GOVEE Neon Led RGBIC and LED GOVEE RGBIC 10m (h6126) can I also synchronize these accessories with Govee TV Backlight T2 as you do he transferred the colors from the TV. And what else would you recommend? Great video and interior design!!! Greetings Andrzej.
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! I have not personally tired those two items with the dreamview feature so i'm not 100% sure. I would reach out to Govee just to confirm. But just based on looking at them, i'm about 95% sure that they both will work with the T2!
Interesting. I was looking at the Envisual T2, but was concerned any LED backlight system would look odd with my TV, as mine swings out into a corner and not flat on the wall. I think adding a floor lamp centered in that corner will greatly help to fill in the light fall-off behind the center of the TV in that area. In the app, it will be position #3 for me. It be nice if they offered a centered directly behind the TV position option in the future.
Can the added light systems only display one color? Let´s say I want to add one additional LED strip to to every side of the TV- for example on each wall, the ceiling and teh floor. Would these additional strips only light in the color of the center of the corresponding TV side or would they be able to match the whole captured section of the TV´s captured side? TO make this easier: when there is a gradient from red to green on the TV´s top, would the additional light placed above the TV´s top also be able to light from red to green or would it only light in a single color between red and green?
Thanks so much for watching and great question! So most of their new led strips let you assign up to 6 locations to the led strip that correspond to the tv. so its not perfect because their are 4 sides to the tv but only 6 locations which means some sides are going to have to have 2 sections while others will only have 1 assigned to the strip if that makes sense.
I’d like to do this in my basement theater. I plan to hang a 98” Samsung is there a backlight for this size? I’d also like to add led lighting In my crown molding around the perimeter of the room and use the dream view feature. Is there a specific type of string light to use in the molding’s
Heh Chris...is there any way to have 3 strips run in a pattern around the room? Treat as one strip for the pattern even though I know you can only hook up 2 together? Not sure if the app allows you to do it. Trying to avoid spending $$'s if it doesn't work.
Thanks so much for watching and great question! So as of now, I dont think there is a way to do this. that is one of the things I've really begged govee to figure out how to do. It cant be that hard to be able to put up like 5 of these around your room and have software treat it as 1 single long strip! Maybe with their next led strip they will be able to do this or figure out how to do things with the current version. They would sell so many if they could figure this out!
I don't think any other products would be able to sync through this dreamview but I think Govee's lights in general have some smart home capabilities so I think you could combine things like that (turn on, turn off, change color etc) but not do something like is being done in the video if that makes sense! Thanks for watching and great question!
If I'm not mistaken I believe the dreamview uses Bluetooth. Maybe someone else reading the comments can confirm this. I know for instance the new Govee M1 led strips can still be controlled via Bluetooth when WIFI is turned off. Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much for watching! Yes, you can choose to have whatever color you want as well as some basic animations and some sound react settings which I dont believe would require the camera!
Great video. How do you get the back light to turn off when the screen is black? With mines when the screen is black the backlight are still lit in a white color
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! I'm glad you like the video! I don't think mine actually fully turns off, but I do have my white balance very low and saturation (i believe its called saturation) also very low.
Thanks so much for watching and great question! yes, a lot of their strips work with dreamview. I mad a follow up video where I did something similar using the govee M1 led strip and it turned out great. Here is that video: ruclips.net/video/i6Dp9ALQLSc/видео.html
Thanks so much for watching! I'm not aware of Lifx having anything similar to this. I'm not 100% sure though. Maybe someone else that knows for sure can chime in if they are reading this!
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! So I do have some Philips can lights in my house. I've had them for probably 4 years now and love them. They always work and color is great. I have never personally tried Philips led strips so I cant comment on those other than I don't believe they are 60 LEDs per meter and I also think they are pretty wide. My guess is that their led strip works great, gets very bright and has great whites and colors. I also would imagine they don't have nearly as much customizable options or animations like you get with Govee. So all that to say I think Philips makes amazing quality products (and their price reflects this) I do think Govee just has a lot more options, a little more affordable, better ecosystem, and has proven they will keep coming out with new and unique products. But this is also coming from a guy who has really only used one of their products!
I personally love the kit. Its what i'm using in the video and it all works really well together and being able to connect other products to it is awesome. Cant go wrong with the DreamView T1!
Thanks so much for watching and my apologies. I should have had more anime. But you did give me an idea. Maybe I should just do a complete video and only have some of the best anime fight scenes. Might be a fun video to do. Thanks so much!
i have my Govee floor lamp on position 16, on the corner opposite of my Tv. which is the best set up for the segments to mirror colours from every side of the TV?
Thanks so much for watching! I think it boils down to personal preference and testing things out but I would probably put the top 3 segments of the lamp to correspond to 5 and the bottom 3 segments of the lamp to correspond to 6 if that makes sense.
That looks badass. Had to stop myself from buying right away. Would you mind sharing what TV you have there? I've got a 65" Samsung but it's just loaded with problems including problems staying connected to wifi and having more ghosting problems than a haunted house
Thanks so much for watching and glad you liked the setup! I have a 65" Vizio p65-e1. Its been a great tv so far. One day I might splurge and get an LG OLED but for now this one is good.
Your Vids are the best. Is it possible to connect Lumary RGBAI Smart recessed lights to the Govee App as well as a string of RGBWIC with Matter over WiFi Controller or is this app just for Govee Products? I have the Lumary RGBAI Smart Lights and want to sync them with the TV if possible. Thx.
Hi there, nice setup you have there. I’m busy planning my setup, bit just got a question I haven’t found an answer for. Is it possible to add a light twice to match different parts of the screen? Example: led strip section 1,2,3 left side tv, 4,5,6 under tv, etc.
Thanks for watching and great question. I think I understand what your asking and the answer is yes. Lets say I have 3 govee glide kits and I wanted to install all 3 under my tv. Each govee glide can be set up to match the same bottom part of the screen by selecting the appropriate numbers. Hope that makes sense!
Thanks for watching! I'm not sure why that might be. I would reach out to govee customer service and see what they say. They are usually really awesome! us.govee.com/pages/contact-us
Thats a great question! I know they function off Bluetooth but I'm not 100% sure if they still need a constant wifi signal. Maybe someone else on here might know and can chime in if they know for sure!
Thanks so much! If I remember correctly, the LG c2 series tv is very slim correct? The T2 is better designed to fit on slim tvs so I would probably check out that one instead of the govee T1. Here is the video I made using the T2: ruclips.net/video/i6Dp9ALQLSc/видео.html
@@ChrisMaherDIY will the LG C2 be susceptible to any glares in such a set up as described in your video. I’m happy to be a subscriber to your channel my friend.
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! I know of a few that don't require a camera. One is made by philips and the other is lytmi. There are positives and negatives to all the different options so Its a tough call on which one is the best. I would say as far as performance, price and easy setup, I would go with the Govee brand as long as you don't mind the camera.
I think I have seen 1 video on RUclips where someone is able to use WLED to sync things up with their tv and it looked amazing! One day I hope to figure it out but it looked like it required a lot of programming. Thanks as always for watching buddy!
Do you know how much bandwith this puts on your wifi? I have only have 35 mgb download speed, 7 mgb upload, and like to play fps games? So not sure if this would try and use too much bandwith?
hello, can you tell me if the synchronization can be done with the Govee Smart LED Bulb? (I have the Goove Dreamview T1 on my TV) Thank you for your reply
Is it possible to sync non-govee smart lights? Otherwise, can you suggest a solution for syncing various smart lights of different brands, a ceiling full length LED strip(covers the entire room) and the TV strip, with the screen visuals?
Thanks so much for watching and great question! You are not able to sync other non govee products to the dream view functionality. Govee will still probably be your best bet for syncing a wide variaty of products (see my t2 video: ruclips.net/video/i6Dp9ALQLSc/видео.html ) But there is a program called Hyperion that could hypothetically help with doing this. I have not looked too much into it but hope to do a video on this in the future. Thanks!
@@ChrisMaherDIY Thank you for thr prompt response! Please do make a video about Hyperion. I live in India, and we presently do not have a wide range of options from any single manufacturer.
How are you connecting to the other devices? This is not a hard connection right? I have the H6199 and the H6054 bars and I cannot get the h6199 to see the other govee. Are you using some other go between?
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! No hard connection. Everything is done over the app (I'm not sure if they are connecting to each other via Bluetooth or WIFI) Maybe reach out to Govee tech support and see what they say might be the issue. In my experience, they have been very responsive!
Where did you get the 1st video playing on your TV with the paint splashes moving around the screen? Is there a place where I can download that video from in 4k? Great video btw!
Thanks so much! Here is the link to the paint splashes. I'm unfortunately not aware of where/if you can download it but you can certainly watch it on youtube! ruclips.net/video/qC0vDKVPCrw/видео.html
Era isso que eu estava procurando, algo inteligente sem precisar de um aparelho externo e que funcione até mesmo com os aplicativos da TV smart e Canais abertos.
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! I have not personally tried it on a dark background but just from experience its for sure not going to look as good as something with a lighter color background. I would maybe try finding a cheap red, green, blue light that I could shine against the wall to test how the colors looked before buying something. I guess you could always just return the thing if it doesn't look good!
Do you know if I can address the lights bars separately? I want to have one shelf be location 1, and the one under it be location 10. From the same light bar kit.
Thanks so much for watching! If your talking about these light bars: amzn.to/3D3bk8d i'm honestly not 100% since I have not set that product up buy I would imagine you would be able to do exactly what you want with them. Having one bar set at location 1 and the other at location 10.
So I have a t1 and I don't have that option on the app and I don't see a firmware update anywhere. I want to buy the new t2. Buy I have a 75 in tv and the new model is only for 65in
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment. Hmm that is interesting. My only thinking is maybe they came out with different versions of the T1? How long ago did you get yours? Maybe reach out to Govee on that issue and see what they say. us.govee.com/pages/contact-us They do have a 75" version of the T2 (at least they do in the US) Here is the link for that: amzn.to/3fQN5S2
That's a really good question! I'm not sure on that. Maybe if someone else is reading through the comments and knows for sure they can chime in! I'll let you know though If I find out one way of the other!
I have the the H6046 light bars and place them on the bottom of each corner of the tv on the table because my tv is on the wall but I can’t get my light bars to sync properly with my led light strips I’m using the t2. I think I need to put the area setting on the bars in dream view but the area setting numbers are confusing
Thanks so much for watching! it's a refurbished Vizio P65-E1 Great TV and still working good after about 4 years! But I really would like to replace it with an OLED tv at some point down the road!
Is it possible to have 2 dreamview sync stations in the same house? Example: The T2 in the living room with lights from living room & kitchen synced to it & then the T1 in the bedroom with strip lights in the bedroom hooked to it?
I have not tested it out to know for sure but i'm 99% sure you can do this. When you set up Dreamview it has you select what device is your main one with the camera. You should be able to set up the one, then go back in and set up the other one in the same way.
@@ChrisMaherDIY Thank you for your reply. :) It is worth trying! I have to say, I'm really enjoying your videos! I really enjoy tech devices, too, especially lights! I'm going to be doing the kitchen cabinet lights you did, they look like an electrician installed them! I'm also getting the Govee M1 lights to decorate my entertainment center, the Govee hexagon lights (or the glide, haven't decided for sure, yet). Also, I'm considering the security camera hack you did & will be installing security cameras, too!

Wow I bought the Govee immersion thing like a year ago but still haven’t set it up yet. I didn’t t know you could connect it to additional lights. I really need to stop being lazy and get this going. Thanks!
You are very welcome and thanks so much for watching! Yeah its pretty cool how easy it is to set up! They did a great job!
This is a new feature that was not available when the original govee tv solutions came out.
If you have the older units they are NOT compatible with this. The dream view button will show in the app, but pressing it will direct you to buying the newest TV unit only.
You can only connect it to 4 different devices
Too bad it does not support earlier releases of govee immersion.
They have these same lights for monitors
You can find usb kits for monitors on aliexpress
they do lol
@@Victor-ze3sd yea junk ones these brand are much better
thank you for this tutorial! you confirmed my suspicion and gave me all i needed to know what i needed to order! you the man!
Thank you!
i got the led strips M1 and RGBIC pro led strips could i connect them with the t2 and sync them in real time?
I cant add lights Like in the vid I only can do Dream view but with szenes Not the Video thing
One important note:
You need to have the latest hardware revision to get the latest firmware to immersion that enables the dreamview option.
How do you update the hardware
@@gavinnelson6871 open the device and check if left side there is firmware version written
@@kaislate I dunno, I sent them a nice email and they updated my hardware box to latest model for free, I've had the immersion for over a year!

Chris does really great videos. This is another one.
I'd like to see an overview of the govee app some time. I think people don't try to use it or give it much thought until they actually buy a govee unit. Having prior knowledge of the experience the app gives might be beneficial to viewers.
Thanks again buddy and that is a great idea for a video! It could probably be at least a 30 min video lol.
Very impressive, really highlights how small the TV is.
Thanks so much for watching! Yeah, the tv looks very small in the far away shots. I never thought a 65" tv would appear small but I think I could for sure do a 75" next time!
@@ChrisMaherDIY oh man I didn't expect a response. Good vid for real.
I think its probably the location that makes it look small. Try centering on a wall and watch it magically grow! I work with shapes and angles for a living lol

OK, this is what I was looking for. I was concerned if I got the dreamview/light bar bundle I would be limited to just those small bars. Now I see I can expand out to the floor lamps for whenever I get those. Thanks for the info.
You are very welcome and thanks so much for watching! Yeah, you should be able to add I believe up to 5 compatible things to the main camera setup!

Holy cow. I have those and didn't know that was a thing. I'm going to do now. Thanks!
You are very welcome and thanks so much for watching!
First of all: Huge thank you! Because of you I added the Hexa to my T1.
Question: Does your Hexa turn off in color when your picture is black? Mine are green then. I would say this is an issue. How about you?
Thanks so much for watching! If the color is black then there is some type of dark color being displayed at a low brightness on mine.
@@ChrisMaherDIY Ah okay! What I found out:
Stsrt with brightnesslevel 1 and go higher step by step.
I'm not holding breath though lol.
this is exactly what i needed! thanks for the vid/walkthrough!
Thanks so much for watching and you are very welcome! Glad the video was helpful!
Will this work if we play any games on the TV or is there any other way to get into game mode or something..?
With the Govee brand, since its a camera, it will work with anything that is on your tv. Doesn't matter what, it will work. There is a gaming mode you can turn on which increases the reacting time to the lights changing. Thanks so much for watching!
Love the Wi-Fi name man, amen🙏
Thank u bro cause now im going to have a badass setup. Great video btw
Thanks so much and thanks for watching!
Very nice demo.. I've a question do you recommend it because I've Samsung Qled Tv with Sonos Soundbar.. Will I still get 4K and Dolby Atmos?
Thanks so much for watching! Yes you will. This setup does not affect anything that you currently have running on your tv. There are other products out there that have a sync box that might effect those things since you have to run everything through that box but for this setup, you just keep everything as is.
@@ChrisMaherDIY Oh thank you for the tipp. Because I'm hesitating between Govee and Phillips Hue..🙏🙏🙏
Are the led strip lights synced or not? Ive been wondering if they can work without syncing.
Great vide of the setup and installation. My OCD is on FIRE though cuz the TV isn't on the fireplace.
Thanks! Do you know if this also works with the AI Box?
I have my TV above the fireplace and would like to do something like this. My question is the shelves are 3 levels high, so could I split the led light strips and run them all off of one unit, or would each level of shelves need its own set of lights?
Thanks so much for watching and great question! So in my experience working with the Govee M1, I was able to cut them into different lengths and re-connect them with extension wire and they all ran perfectly off one controller. Now I obviously have not tried every possible combination of how you can cut them and re connect them, but at least the iteration that I tried, it worked perfectly!
Excelente video,👌🏻👏👏👏you should make one now explining how to correctly set up in order to get the right color 👍👍👍
Yeah I could for sure go into more detail on the setup and show some of the more features. But for a quick tip, keep the saturation to around 15 -20% and the White balance at around 40%. At least that's what I did to get what I thought was the most accurate color calibration for my tv!
Could you add generic devices as sub devices? Or everything has to be govee? Thanks
Thanks so much for watching and great question. Everything has to be govve. Nothing else is compatible.
can I use the Sync Box instead of the T1/T2 Camera, and still add all the other room lights
Do they require wifi after setting them up
How many light can you add to the dream view? As many as you want?
Could I use the older lamp to sync to my tv as well or it has to be the newer one?
Thanks so much for watching! So I know I'm using the first version of the Govee Lyra lamp so it should work just fine!
Awesome video. However would this work on a gaming monitor? Would you reccomend it?
Do they make them long enough to go around a 135 inch projector screen? (63"*110)*2
How do you get your lights to go off completely when the screen is black? My setup, seems to always have a very dim white when there’s a black sceen
@@ChrisMaherDIY this will be the reason I'll do it like your other wled videos. Thank you for confirming.
Does dream view support the gover gu10 ceiling lights as well ??
Mine don’t change with the scenes of the movies how can I do that? Should I redo the camera calibrate process?
Does this allow you to sync non-govee lights that are compatible with smart home technologies?
I don't think any other products would be able to sync through this dreamview but I think Govee's lights in general have some smart home capabilities so I think you could combine things like that (turn on, turn off, change color etc) but not do something like is being done in the video if that makes sense! Thanks for watching and great question!
Hey. nice video, do u know if this set up work with bluetooth also ? or we need wifi for this set up?
If I'm not mistaken I believe the dreamview uses Bluetooth. Maybe someone else reading the comments can confirm this. I know for instance the new Govee M1 led strips can still be controlled via Bluetooth when WIFI is turned off. Thanks for watching!
This video is very helpful. Do you know if Govee light bulb compatible with dreamview as well?
Would you be able to use it without the camera? I just want some cool blue back lights for my TV
Thanks so much for watching! Yes, you can choose to have whatever color you want as well as some basic animations and some sound react settings which I dont believe would require the camera!
@@ChrisMaherDIY thanks bro, appreciate you on that!
Whoa Can this work with govee led strips too?
Thanks so much for watching and great question! yes, a lot of their strips work with dreamview. I mad a follow up video where I did something similar using the govee M1 led strip and it turned out great. Here is that video: ruclips.net/video/i6Dp9ALQLSc/видео.html
Is there a lifx alternative to this. I already bought the lights but would live to do this.
Thanks so much for watching! I'm not aware of Lifx having anything similar to this. I'm not 100% sure though. Maybe someone else that knows for sure can chime in if they are reading this!
I'm new to your channel. Why would you recommend Govee lights over Phillips?
*Other than the outrageous price for the whole Phillips set. Have you tested both, I mean?
What would you say is the optimal distance from led to wall?
Hi Chris - what are your thoughts on the immersion kit? would you recommend the Govee DreamView T1? Thanks
I personally love the kit. Its what i'm using in the video and it all works really well together and being able to connect other products to it is awesome. Cant go wrong with the DreamView T1!

excuse me, can i connect govee t1 or t2 with the other led strip like govee type H619A Or H61BE? or just can connect to only govee m1?
i have my Govee floor lamp on position 16, on the corner opposite of my Tv. which is the best set up for the segments to mirror colours from every side of the TV?
Thanks so much for watching! I think it boils down to personal preference and testing things out but I would probably put the top 3 segments of the lamp to correspond to 5 and the bottom 3 segments of the lamp to correspond to 6 if that makes sense.

They are usually really awesome! us.govee.com/pages/contact-us
Do those other lights need to be wifi, or does it work with their bluetooth ones?

Otherwise, can you suggest a solution for syncing various smart lights of different brands, a ceiling full length LED strip(covers the entire room) and the TV strip, with the screen visuals?
Thanks so much for watching and great question! You are not able to sync other non govee products to the dream view functionality. Govee will still probably be your best bet for syncing a wide variaty of products (see my t2 video: ruclips.net/video/i6Dp9ALQLSc/видео.html )
But there is a program called Hyperion that could hypothetically help with doing this.
Can you connect this with a govee led stripe, imo it's simpler (looking)
Im looking to buy the 55-65 inch ones but i have a 50 inch tv will there be a problem?
When I press add it just says no device found even though I have one
Where did you get the 1st video playing on your TV with the paint splashes moving around the screen? Is there a place where I can download that video from in 4k? Great video btw!
Thanks so much! Here is the link to the paint splashes. I'm unfortunately not aware of where/if you can download it but you can certainly watch it on youtube! ruclips.net/video/qC0vDKVPCrw/видео.html
How did you get the true black on your other lights?
Era isso que eu estava procurando, algo inteligente sem precisar de um aparelho externo e que funcione até mesmo com os aplicativos da TV smart e Canais abertos.
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! Its for sure a nice easy setup with a lot of great features!
Bro best 👍👍very impressed at the organizing skills i wish my room was setup like this too 🤣
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! Appreciate the kind words my friend!
Does it compatible with homekit?
Amazing set-up! How will these work against a dark background? I have a 70" tv mounted on a very dark gray wall. Keep up the great work!
Maybe reach out to Govee on that issue and see what they say. us.govee.com/pages/contact-us
They do have a 75" version of the T2 (at least they do in the US) Here is the link for that: amzn.to/3fQN5S2
Does that camera work with a curved TV/monitor or is there one made for it?
That's a really good question! I'm not sure on that. Maybe if someone else is reading through the comments and knows for sure they can chime in! I'll let you know though If I find out one way of the other!
Thanks! ❤️
Wow. I am really impressed
Thanks so much for watching! Glad you liked the video!
I have the the H6046 light bars and place them on the bottom of each corner of the tv on the table because my tv is on the wall but I can’t get my light bars to sync properly with my led light strips I’m using the t2. I think I need to put the area setting on the bars in dream view but the area setting numbers are confusing
I had change the thing. How do I change it back to sync the lights
Does it need to be connected to wi fi all the time?
I'm not 100% sure but I think its either connected to WIFI or Bluetooth 100% of the time.
3:19 Can you choose any govee product there or just some are supported ?
Can I ask you which tv is it?
Thanks so much for watching! it's a refurbished Vizio P65-E1 Great TV and still working good after about 4 years! But I really would like to replace it with an OLED tv at some point down the road!
@@ChrisMaherDIY hey! Thanks for replying i love your vids
Is it possible to have 2 dreamview sync stations in the same house?
Example:
The T2 in the living room with lights from living room & kitchen synced to it & then the T1 in the bedroom with strip lights in the bedroom hooked to it?
I have not tested it out to know for sure but i'm 99% sure you can do this. When you set up Dreamview it has you select what device is your main one with the camera. You should be able to set up the one, then go back in and set up the other one in the same way.

Thank you for your reply. :)
It is worth trying!
@@loristrom7426 oh wow sounds like your going to be busy! So many fun projects! Glad your liking the videos and glad your getting some ideas! Thanks for all the kind words!
