As a commercial diesel tech I have some advice for you. That coolant tank is called a surge tank. When the truck is running and hot the level of coolant will expand and contract and surge up and down in that tank. On a Volvo the engine is cold; it should be filled to halfway between the minimum and max level. Even at the minimum you still were ok. If you fill it to the max when cold volvos have a tendency to start leaking coolant from the fill cap once the truck reaches operating temp. You will see red crystalized coolant running down and around the cap. Don't be alarmed but if it does start leaking you should try to have some of the coolant syphoned out of the tank with the engine cold to stop the dripping. Never open that cap hot unless you are experience tech. You won't damage your truck if you did fill it to max. There is a pressure release cap on the other side of the surge tank on the side. Keep an eye on the coolant level in the future. If it continues to drop down to the minimum or below(when the truck is cold) and you have to keep adding then you have a leak. Volvos are known for having the bunk heater cores leak. If you ever see drips on the ground of coolant on the passenger side under the sleeper bunk most likely it's the core or it could be the hoses leading to it. Be safe and happy travels. Sorry for the long comment just trying to help.

Gave me chills to see the set up for the group rig photo, both the HDTs and the smaller vehicles. Some day I hope to have a similar set-up, but instead of a Smart Car, I'm hoping for a Mazda Miata! Early in your video I saw an older Miata, so guess it's possible!
It's always a cool picture of all the trucks lined up. A Miata is possible but our friends who have it put it on a rollback truck with a cover. It was the older lighr blue truck with a white box on it.
Nice to see u/everyone sharing knowledge/experience. We need community. From our daughter recently “when does a joke become a dad joke? When it becomes apparent.” 🇨🇦 ❤ sadly our RV is in storage until next year😢
For those who don’t have a lot of room for supplies. Like me in my 25’ Class C. I use an app called Zinna that is also on line that I can do a lot of what you are doing.😊 I’m sure you had a great time teaching your class.
Hot tip on cooking bacon, dredge [bacon in flour in a 1 gallon zip lock the shake them to get the excess off] the use a cookie sheet with parchment paper cook in the oven @ 425 degrees for 22 minutes, no mess no fuss
I’ve been watching your videos for several months now, so informative and beautifully documented, I feel that I’m right there with you on your travels. Being so new, I would love to know the origin of your last name. Happy and safe travels to you both.
No, you are not downsized 😂. I can‘t image flat towing a Jeep behind such a long rig, I wouldn’t do it for safety reasons. Wow a Bujo starter kit for 20 people, what an effort, well done! My favorite an Excel based RV expense class. Sounds like there was some maintenance tracking included. Now, you have a boat, that’s funny 😂😂. Great picture of the trucks and Smart cars. Thanks for the video, was a great event.
i have the small & the large induction cooktop from nuwave & i take them to events outa town & when we go camping during the summer months over here & are great for melting chocolate as since ive had these's i havent burt any chocolate , watch your videos every week & next time i'm in the usa i'll have to work in a meet & greet somewhere
Another great video 👏🏻👏🏻 RVing is a culture where 99.9 % of the people will come and help if you need it. I laughed when you were laughing alone at your torque jokes. 😂😂We are starting to slowly pack our rig to leave Ontario, 🇨🇦 and head to South Padre Island on Dec 1. for the winter months.
Sorry, no, they were all used at the rally. Sondra just bought these supplies (on clearance) for the class. I'm going to try and get a video out on it in the near future. She had a lot of fun. Thanks
@@bigtruckbigtravels thank you so much for responding to my question! I always smile when Sondra talks about her Bujo, scrapbooking, being creative, etc etc! She’s my fellow creative sister!!! 🥰
Downsized schmownsized; you’re still ginormous compared to 99% of the RVs out there and definitely have the nicest looking combo on the road IMHO 👍 (no offense intended to any other HDT owners following your channel…😂)
We agree! But it does seem like the rigs are getting bigger and longer. Not sure that's a good thing... but to each his own. Thanks for watching the channel.
Interesting video. Several of the trucks looked like regular over the road trucks and then others didn't. I didn't see any big rigs trucks pulling campers in Zion or Yellow Stone recently. They must have parked outside the parks and drove a smaller vechicle inside the park? Interesting video.
Definitely not in Zion, we stayed just outside at Zion Canyon CG. Yellowstone has Fishing Bridge that will fit. But most are outside and drive in. Most of these rigs are built to haul the RV trailer.
We want some electric Bikes. What are your thoughts on the ones that you have used and the current ones you own? Do you have any DOs and or DONTS when considering purchasing them? Thank You for all the great stuff you post!
Wow! Great questions. We like our Evelo bikes but 3 years ago they were the only ones with suspension on a hybrid type bike with good battery capacity and at least a 750w hub drive motor. Lots more to choose from now. It depends on what type of riding you'll be doing. Dirt Traisl? Paved trails? Short distance (less than 15 miles) or longer distances (greater than 25 miles)? Is weight a concern? Folding for storage? We are pleased with ours but there's a lot to consider.
What did you put on your wheels, or do you polish them every time you stop. I drove an 18 wheeler set of doubles and I was polishing constantly. Love a shiny SMI.
Sondra, I would love to get a copy of your bullet journaling instructions. Would you be willing to link it or send it to me? Thanks. I have scrapbooked for many years but I like the way you showcase your trips and location stickers. Would love to see more.
Sorry, I would drive a large class a coach in with a small toad because I'm solo. I would make sure my safety net is staying inside before assessing my safety net and stepping outside.
Our build was before the channel but we bypass the scales since we're not commercial. Our truck is registered as a private vehicle. We're thinking of doing a video on the build process. Thanks
Please show us some of your journal work. I am getting a motorhome and want to start creating a journal. I am about a 50 min drive away from any classes so I would really like to see what you do pleas
WIth sxs getting more comforts, like the Polaris HD 1500 jeeps are almost not necessary. The 1500 is capable if not more than a jeep has AC heat plush seats an low noise. AWD they are great an lighter than a jeep. 50 state legal when registered in the right state.

So what was the advantage of having a single axle ? But I see now you have dual axle as normal. Do they have the standard gear ratio ??

@@bigtruckbigtravels No that wasn't me but I hear they're pretty popular. I live in Portland Oregon right now.I'm on my way home from a couple of weeks exploring canada for the first time and that's been wonderful. Next time you come through portland post it before you're there and maybe we can get together. Blessings
Great to experience the rally with you! Travel safe. Don’t do too much torquing!! Lol
Thanks. I'll try to ease into the "torque zone".
Thank you again. David I hope your torque job went off without a hitch.....😂
😆 🤣 Thanks
David your dad jokes just keep on coming!!!🤣😆
😆 🤣 you can't stop them... you can only hope to contain them! 😆 🤣
Another great video guys love it Blessings too you both ❤
Glad you enjoyed it and excited to have you along on the journey with us. 🥰😊
You guys are a HOOT ❤
Just enjoying life. Thank you for watching
The longer you use the de-scale filter, the more results you will see. Also, you can buy replacement balls for inside the filter.
Thanks, Phyllis. I saw the refills on Amazon. We're hoping to see some good results.
You make an awesome presentation pair!💙🤍❤️👍🏾
Thank you so much 🤗 We really appreciate your comments.
@bigtruckbigtravels You are very welcome!
HEY GUYS GREAT VIDEO BEAUTIFUL RIGS WOW OH MY GOSH AWESOME !! GOOD TIME FUN FELLOWSHIP AWESOME !! BE BLESSED & BE SAFE GOD BLESS ! I JUST LOVE YOU GUYS 👊✊🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏
Glad you enjoyed it and really appreciate your comments. Lots of heavy metal rolling around! Thanks for watching the channel.
You are soooo organized Sondra‼️I’d love to take your class‼️
She really enjoyed it for the rally. Thanks. Maybe one day you guys can get together.
Whenever you are part of a community where every-one tinkers that much with there own rig, you are part of a great thriving community. Great opening.
Well said, Hans! Thanks
Great video. I have never been to a rally, but I would love to go one day. 🙂
Everyone is welcome. Great fun with great people.
Nice to see u/everyone sharing knowledge/experience. We need community. From our daughter recently “when does a joke become a dad joke? When it becomes apparent.” 🇨🇦 ❤ sadly our RV is in storage until next year😢
Love that! Funny joke! It's a great community. Hope the winter is short for you. Thanks for watching
David, the part with the new torque ranch went a little long it almost torqued me off safe travels😂
😆 🤣 that's good. I may "steel" that from you!
For those who don’t have a lot of room for supplies. Like me in my 25’ Class C. I use an app called Zinna that is also on line that I can do a lot of what you are doing.😊 I’m sure you had a great time teaching your class.
Thanks for sharing!! Sondra will check that out! Great idea.
Hot tip on cooking bacon, dredge [bacon in flour in a 1 gallon zip lock the shake them to get the excess off] the use a cookie sheet with parchment paper cook in the oven @ 425 degrees for 22 minutes, no mess no fuss
Great idea!! We may have to try that. Thanks!
What a great life yall live!!!
Thank you. We're very fortunate to be able to share our experiences with everyone.
I’ve been watching your videos for several months now, so informative and beautifully documented, I feel that I’m right there with you on your travels. Being so new, I would love to know the origin of your last name. Happy and safe travels to you both.
Welcome aboard... from a few months ago! My last name is Hawaiian where I grew up. My uncle is Duke. Thanks for watching the channel.
Thanks for sharing 😊😊😊
Our pleasure 😊
No, you are not downsized 😂. I can‘t image flat towing a Jeep behind such a long rig, I wouldn’t do it for safety reasons. Wow a Bujo starter kit for 20 people, what an effort, well done! My favorite an Excel based RV expense class. Sounds like there was some maintenance tracking included. Now, you have a boat, that’s funny 😂😂. Great picture of the trucks and Smart cars. Thanks for the video, was a great event.
We wouldn't feel comfortable flat towing either. They are getting longer. Thanks for watching
Can’t make fun of anyone there! Looks like some really awesome Rigs!
😆 🤣 lots of heavy metal at this rally!
Definitely some BIG trucks. The rally needs to provide presenters a way better screen. Thanks for sharing!
They are working on it. The last day was better than the first several presentations. Thanks
Looked like a blast
Always a lot of fun. Neat group.
i have the small & the large induction cooktop from nuwave & i take them to events outa town & when we go camping during the summer months over here & are great for melting chocolate as since ive had these's i havent burt any chocolate , watch your videos every week & next time i'm in the usa i'll have to work in a meet & greet somewhere
Hi. The Nuwave are very handy and we like the portability of it. Always enjoy meeting everyone on the road. Thanks for watching
Aawww! Getting out of the cold, eh?!? Don't blame you. I crack myself up. 😆 🤣 Thanks for watching
My husband and I love watching your channel ❤
Is there a way to get the Bujo sheets that you had for your presentation? Much love!
Lovely place huge rally lot of nice rigs
Great place for a rally. Thanks
Great Vlog! Looks like a fun event...even had a Smart car, car show!! They charge a wheel tax at these events!? Lol 😉
😆 🤣 oh, no... We'd go broke!
I love watching your videos. Could you share the started guide so i would know what to do. I would love to start scrap booking. 😊
Yes of course! I think Sondra is golf to post on our FB group. I'm also going to try and get the video out of the class.
Great Community!
Glad you enjoyed it. A bunch of nice people for sure. Thanks
Hi to both of you I hope you have so much fun ❤❤ I have the same cart .love Lisa
Hi there! It's a great little cart. ☺️ Stay warm this winter. Hope you are doing well.
@bigtruckbigtravels yes I will do .stay safe and well and I am looking forward to seeing more of your videos and travels I enjoy them so much 😊 😍😍😍
Love y’all videos.👍🏻
Thanks so much. We're so grateful to have you along with us. Glad you enjoyed it.
Don't polish but I do clean them every time I wash. They look cleaner on video than they are sometimes. 😆
Welcome to my hometown.
Nice. We like Hutch. Thank you very much for your time watching the channel. ☺️
Sondra, I would love to get a copy of your bullet journaling instructions. Would you be willing to link it or send it to me? Thanks. I have scrapbooked for many years but I like the way you showcase your trips and location stickers. Would love to see more.
She's going to put it on our FB group. She really enjoys it too. Thanks
Sorry, I would drive a large class a coach in with a small toad because I'm solo. I would make sure my safety net is staying inside before assessing my safety net and stepping outside.
A Class A is definitely easier to RV. That's a good plan. Thanks
Another awesome video!👍
Thank you! Really appreciate the time you spent on the channel!
I'm at ground level, , to see all those trucks, wow. I have mine up on my page.
Nice. Impressive from the ground or above.
That’s quite the bulk feeder at your HDT Rally on the last day.
😆 🤣 no kidding! It "processed" a lot of meals that night! 😆 🤣
do you have video of the trailer build? Do you have to go on scales etc cause of this set up with Commercial truck and trailer, with air brakes?
Our build was before the channel but we bypass the scales since we're not commercial. Our truck is registered as a private vehicle. We're thinking of doing a video on the build process. Thanks
Please show us some of your journal work. I am getting a motorhome and want to start creating a journal. I am about a 50 min drive away from any classes so I would really like to see what you do pleas
I'm going to try and put a video out on the class Sondra taught at the rally. Congrats on the motorhome.
Thank you
WIth sxs getting more comforts, like the Polaris HD 1500 jeeps are almost not necessary. The 1500 is capable if not more than a jeep has AC heat plush seats an low noise. AWD they are great an lighter than a jeep. 50 state legal when registered in the right state.
Aahhh... that's very interesting. Thanks. I'll look into that.
Great video where about was the rally?
Hutchinson, Kansas
Use static remover on the peanuts that way U have control over them 😅
Great idea! Thanks
Joni said you glossed over the quilt too quickly
😆 🤣 oh, she did, did she?!? 😆 It's a cool quilt.
Has got to be one of my favorite all time videos. Love the emphasis on community. Please keep up the good work. Loved it.
Awesome, thank you! It's a great community which is one reason why we selected the HDT lifestyle 10 years ago.
That food looks delicious
It was very tasty.
Recipe please for lava cake🎉🎉
Will upload soon on our FB group.
You guys need a golf cart to get around the camp grounds, and beyond!
And cheat us out of exercise?!? 😆 🤣 Thanks for watching
I would sign up for one her classes in an instant! Just saying...😊
Wow, thank you! She enjoys it.
