Oh Christmas is so magical when there is a little one, eyes wide in amazement-marveling at the fact that Santa really, really came! Warms my grinchy heart!❤️. No more little ones in our family, so I’ll enjoy your experience after Christmas. Thank you for sharing your personal experience. Your clicker monitor is doing a great job on the commercials. Familiaris is calling me. I loved Edgar Sawtelle.
Again, thank you Kim for sharing especially regarding experiences that aren't really talked about yet people go through. On a lighter note, I'm loving the pink Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your family.
My philosophy with shopping ( too many people) comes 4:23 from Linus from the Peanuts. “I love humanity it’s people I can’t stand” I don’t like shopping I am a get in and get out type of person. And I am not a yard sale/garage sale person either due to childhood trauma of going from one sale to another 😂
Hi. I did not have children but I think your stories will be helpful for others. I agree with other posters that these stories need to be shared esp now the information might go underground as roles for women are redefined again by men. ugh. TY for bringing Fire in the City to my attention. That sounds like a book I would enjoy reading!
Hi Kim. I loved Edgar Sawtelle. I wasn't even aware of Familiaris. I will have to investigate. Your granddaughter is adorable! Gareth is an absolute gem.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I have two C sections and was born through a C section, and I remember when I was in Med school, our obstetrics teacher said that a C section was an obstetric failure and I was so personally offended because I was born that way 😂😅
I always love your personal medical stories! Thank god, I was very lucky with three non- traumatic births (2 natural and 1 cesarean) in Zurich and Cape Town😊!
Christmas is wonderful when you are around kids - one of the things I miss about teaching in schools! Gareth is great - I have yet to actually buddy reqd with him but we were in a Voxer group listening to Bowie's back catalogue together and have been bookshopping with him on the meet-ups. Such a fun and kind person.
Your Christmassy goings on sound so fun! I know a family who had a tradition to do the all day mall thing on Christmss Eve - they did ALL their shopping on that day. I can't even imagine. As someone who also had a severe, unexpected childbirth complication (AFE), I get really annoyed by people who have highly opinionated concepts about "best" birth practices. So many things can happen, as you attest to. So sorry about your rough postpartum with your first daughter. That book sounds like a dud!
I can definitely understand the need for a more balanced book. I have personal c-section horror stories, but am well aware that is not every case. Thanks for the review. (BTW, you're the second person who's mentioned their ambiance video having ads. I'm not sure about you, but the other person is NOT monetized!)
I’m not a shopper either Kim 😬 in and out, that’s me! I have so many friends and family who have all different types of birth story, good and bad, and you realize no one is the same and that as long as mother and baby are healthy it’s a successful birth! I feel for all those who have a traumatic experience. So looking forward to Fire in the Blood, let me know when you want to start this week and we can section it up!
I listened to gregorian chants on youtube, also an 11 hour video supposedly without ads. Trying to fall asleep with soothing music and suddenly ads blasting in your ears 🤦🏽♀️😠
Thank you for sharing your birth stories. These experiences need to be talked about more.
Your daughter in the background always makes these videos extra special. Tell her we thank her. 😂
