Small correction but referring to 1:56: You can actually buy weapons without being at the required level if you have no Golden Sheldon Licenses, but you need spend 3 normal Sheldon Licenses instead of 1. Also, you can ONLY do it if you don't have any Golden Sheldon Licenses.

I got that it will take me 2613 pulls, which puts me in the 92nd percentile (i.e. the bottom 10% in luck). If the RNG seed isn't reset between seasons (which I don't think it is), it will at least put you in a good position to get the next seasonal banner.
Keep in mind that the season banner is extremely rare and you're unlikely to get it! It has a 1 in 1000 chance and the amount of money needed to pull from the shell out machine 1000 times is significantly more than you could reasonably earn in a season. If you get lucky and get one think of it as a nice bonus but if you didn't, don't sweat it, it's designed to be impossible to get by a majority of players.

You could get a seed that gives it to you on your first pull, your hundredth, and so on. If you're unlucky and it's significantly over 1000 for you, or even just perfectly average and it's close to 1000 for you, then you're basically not going to be able to get it unless you've managed to farm over 20 million cash to use exclusively on the shell-out machine.
In ranked mode, turf isn't even accounted for for freshness AND you get more freshness. I recommend having fun in ranked with a variety of weapons for licensees! You'll become a better player for it, could discover a new favorite, and also have a generally faster grind.

The Star Level freshness of each weapon is increased in any pvp game, ranked or turf, and in my experience it levels way way way faster in ranked. That's assuming you can win more than you lose with a weapon. If you're trying to level up a painting weapon that is struggling to contribute to the ranked objectives because you can't kill with it then you're probably better off in turf wars.
Unfortunately because the gacha is seeded you can end up like many players where it's literally impossible to get the seasonal title and banner before the season ends.

To be able to play X battles immediately, you must be S+10 as the season will demote everybody. To stay in S+ which you need to be in for X battles you must end the season in S+10, otherwise you will go to (I believe) A+.
Correction to 4:30. You need S+ to play X-battle, but when the season turns, your rank will drop. How far depends on the rank. For most ranks, its 2 grades, so A -> B+, Exception is S+0 to S+9 which drops to S, and S+10 and up drops to S+0. So to play X battle immediately, you'll need to reach S+10 before the season turns, otherwise you'll have to take your S+0 promo series again first.
That’s how it worked in Splatoon 2, but it’s unclear if that’s how it’ll work in Splatoon 3. X rank needs you to be able to power down to work as intended, but they changed regular ranked to remove regular level downs, so they may be doing the same with the seasonals-no ranking down in the main ranked modes, just powering down in X rank

I've been grinding for a few days, I'm nearly at 10 licenses. Just a tip, you don't need to use good turfing weapons (especially because they're usually terrible main weapons like aerospray and reeflux), just grind ranked because the points you get from that far outweigh the points you get from inking turf in turf war
I’ve spend so much money on the Shell out machine. -30k and -30k and -30k. I still haven’t gotten the bronze, silver, or gold capsule at all. I want to spend everything on the machine in hopes that it’ll give me something actually worth the money, but I have a feeling I’m just going to end up throwing a million coins down the drain.
If you use the website that allows you to check your random seed, you could do around 5 more rolls to get your seed and then all your future rolls would be predicted so you would know if you're close to smth good or if it's not worth spending money

As someone who has no main, I've got 18 licenses ready to go. The points to get the weapon stars are actually calculated the same as xp, so in ranked the amount is based on objective progress, time, etc, not turf inked.
About the seasonal banner and titles, I grinded pretty much everything I needed, from money to Sheldon Licences, but the only thing that I haven't found are those two special things that come from the shell out machine. We still have got some time to get them, and I would love to, since I'm a little bit of a collector myself. How much time and money did you actually spend trying to get them?
Reminder for weapon freshness, it’s not based on turf ladies and gentlemen! Much like your gear, it’s based on the number you earn at the end of a match (like how a Knockout or Victory gives you more points than a loss, those bigger numbers contribute more to weapon freshness). Turf War and Anarchy Open are the best for leveling. Turf War because it’s quick and easy, Anarchy because a knockout is a the lost points you can earn in a match. I recommend against series since you’ll be using weapons you aren’t familiar with so it’s best not to risk huge amounts of rank points. (This whole system is new so some people still haven’t noticed it but they made it so that weapons can all level equally! It’s not like the old days where if you wanted to play a weapon that was poor at turfing like blasters would hold back your leveling)
I got the banner because I was banned because I played with my sibling locally; who has got banned for an inappropriate nickname. They didn’t plan for something for that to happen, so after I got unbanned, my first roll was the banner.
I am excited that the Aerospray RG has Booyah Bomb. I'm currently level 20-almost 21-and if I'm not at the required level for the Aerospray RG when it releases I'm gonna use my Gold Sheldon License for it. Otherwise, I'm gonna grind the Splat Brella and get it leveled up.

Ok im sorry but as a backline player, you do NOT need to play painting weapons to win turf war. Sometimes the enemy team can just simply splat you, preventing you from playing the game, so i recommend that you actually try to get kills and not only paint.
You don’t need to win to gain freshness with a weapon, he just recommends fast painting weapons because you can get to freshness 1 faster and get started on another weapon.
