    I have this pack and it's great! I'm pretty skinny and it works well. I don't put a pad against my back, and I pack and roll the bag tight so the pack is fairly stiff. This way the shape of the pack creates air space on my back. The pack has lots of room for trips where you have to carry a large bear canister. It's very durable I'm more impressed than I expected and have recommended it to friends.

      I found this pack a bit of a surprise also, glad you are enjoying it. I've not had to use a bear cannister, but can imagine how it might work well with this pack. Thanks for sharing.

    With the seat cushion in the back you're fine. I have the backpack too!

    I just straight up made a frame for mine it was really fun
    I’m also really short and slim so I had to modify to hip belt and shoulder straps

    Thanks CFJ. So you’ve given up on the Gossamer. I have to admit it is a little less than robust. That looks like a viable alternative.

      Hey Alex, Definitely not given up on Gossamer as I do love my G4-20, but I feel I do put a new hole in it every trip 😆. I just love gear and trying new things.
      Its always tricky buying packs online though so if you explore this pack as an option at some point feel free to DM me on insta with any questions.

    Thanks for the video, especially about the carry system and mod you did. I looked at this a lot online and could see that having that fat pad in place, it puts the load further back which is not good in terms of leverage onto your shoulders if carrying 12 or 15 kg. Also those pads weigh about 400g but are not enough comfort for sleeping on their own for me. It would mean carrying that pad and an inflatable 7cm pad as well. So I like your work around. The only other con is that the waste band is two separate pieces sown on at the corners of the lower bag, and one youtuber complained about it starting to rip away from the pack after several hard tramps. Its main competitor from China is the Naturhike Rock series pack which is 1.15 kg and is 60+5 L. It has same fabric, same price, roll top internal frame and different drawbacks

      Glad you got something from the video. I understand your concern about the waist belt design, but all I can say is I've had no issues in that regard with my pack. I've actually found the manufacturing quality to be quite good.

      @@campfirejesus I agree with the concerns about the hip belt pulling away from the main body of the pack. for me, after approx. 800 km of use and maximum load (load approx. 14-15 kg), this defect also manifested itself. Otherwise, at my height of 170 cm, I am very satisfied with the wearing comfort. I will try to repair the damage somehow.

    Awesome discussion! I was able to trim about 3 miles worth of strap from this pack and also cut the hip belt off without any comfort issues. The shock cord for the mesh pocket is worth including in my opinion as you can really squeeze the entire pack with this or jigger something together to hold poles or secure large quantities of phone numbers given by attractive woman on trail.

      Haha, it definitely does have a lot excess straps

      Cheers mate,
      Not my normal video, but have been asked questions about that pack a few times or read forums with people asking about it, so hopefully someone gains some insights from the video.

    What is the difference between qidian and qidian pro?

      The main difference will be the fabrics the packs are made out of.

      @@campfirejesus Is the volume of main compartment ( Liters) the same?

    • @campfirejesus
      @campfirejesus  Месяц назад

      @siwywarszawka I would say yes as the dimensions of both bags are exactly the same. Best thing to do would be go to the 3ful website and compare the specs for both bags.

    hello, do you think my folding pad would fit in the back panel? mine is slightly larger than the Z lite so i am worried.
    when folded halfway like its supposed to for the back panel it is W:26.5 x H:56.5 x D:5 (cm)
    thank you

    • @campfirejesus
      @campfirejesus  7 месяцев назад

      I think it would fit OK, but I found that for these packs to carry well with a sleep mat as the back support, you would need quite a long torso. For me, it was more comfortable to just use a sit pad there, which does create some other issues.

    • @rogerlevy57

      Thats a standard size pad so it would fit

    • @campfirejesus
      @campfirejesus  Год назад

      It would depend on the torso length and waist size, but on average I would assume it wouldn't be the best fit

    • @pattyzerocool

      I'm 5'7 and 165, without using the back folding pad the straps are way too big and the s shape actually digs into my chest. Modifying would remove waterproofness.

      I've had no personal experience with nature hike packs, but I'm glad to hear it's working for you. It can be hard at times to find something that ticks enough of the right boxes.
