So, for question 5 additional clues are the girl is 9yrs old and the brother is 2yrs old. Because, the girl has not learned to cope/adjust the to changes in the home
I believed the question 5 should choose A. Given the severity of the girl's statements about harming her brother, immediate action is necessary to ensure the safety of both children. While informing the parents about the girl's comments may strain the therapeutic relationship temporarily, it is necessary to involve them in the process to ensure the safety of their children.

I appreciate you rocking with me😎I write all of my own questions, so it isn’t right from the ASWB. However all of the answers are based on the code of ethics and philosophy of meeting the client where they are at. Thousands of social workers have KICKED THE EXAM DIRECTLY IN THE CHEST from rocking with me ✊🏼
Shocked and so grateful that I passed my exam a few days ago. Thanks Phil for all of your videos and to all the folks who came back to share their experiences- I took you all into the test with me and we rocked it!!!
Hey! I just took an official ASWB practice exam. One of the questions is extremely similar to #5, it is an 8 year old client with anger/impulsivity issues, tells SW about wanting to push younger sibling down the stairs and asks SW not to tell anyone. It asks what should SW do next. The answer was to tell the parents, and it's rationale is that a SW has a duty to warn parents of the potential harm to the sibling. Assessing the client's coping strategies was an option in one of the answers, but in the official ASWB practice examination that one was incorrect. My thoughts are that we change the first option in your answer from INTERVENE to SAFETY which would allow us to choose that one. I wanted to hear your thoughts, I am just confused because your explanation makes sense but so does the ASWB- I am nervous I will have trouble on questions like that.
Hi, I also took the ASWB practice exam with that same question. The correct answer is to talk with the parents according to the ASWB. so I am so confused. PLease HELP!!!
@@Gibbs_Jan I had the same question on my practice ASWB…and also got it wrong lol. Go with ASWB rationale, they are a bit more conservative but I did take the licensure exam this week and passed.
I feel we have a duty to protect so she has a thoughts about harming her brother and a plan of how she will go about it- why are we Minimizing that risk? Thoughts without plans we ignore but she has thoughts about hanging the brother and the plan to push him down the stairs - so I am confused about the rationale for this one
Just I want to say you are a blessing! I passed my LMSW exam. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with others. Your guidance was very helpful. Blessings
I would recommend avoiding looking at the particular words in the answer choices, but rather the meaning of the answer choices as they relate to the question.
I failed my LMSW exam the first time, and am scared to take it again. I overthink these questions so much. I am new to your channel, and think this is going to help me so much. Thank you!!
Hi Phil in regards to question 3, this was confusing especially since the COE indicates SW to refer clients out if the SW doesn't have experience in a particular modality.
I truly love your positivity and uplifting comments!!!!!. I have a test next week and nervous. I have taken this exam in the past and failed. I recently started listening to you. My friend spoke about you being on RUclips with helpful information. I am listening and you spoke about fear. I love the way you broke down fear and I thank you very much. God bless you. Everything you spoke is truth.
Had the same question... I think it can be Assess, then you need to choose from 2 "Assess", B and D. D can't be true because he does not have an alcohol issue as far as we know, and it is better to try and understand what is the client doing exactly. I love Phil's videos and I learn a lot from him, however, he does not write exactly like the exam. I think in the exam the writing is more clear.

Anger Management for Children Resorts to using physical aggression such as hitting, fighting, kicking, shouting, spitting, swearing, tantrums Doesn’t seem to care about animals’ or people’s feelings Acts without thinking Behaves recklessly Bullying or acting aggressively towards others Also, track it. Mark the frequency that you see the behavior occurring on a calendar. (You also may want to mark the time and place it occurs. Anger generally is situational: it happens more at certain times, with certain people, or regarding certain issues. If you track the behavior (just like you would for an illness) you may see a pattern that will be immensely helpful in curbing the anger). Most importantly: if you want your kid to handle anger more appropriately ,then he must learn substitute behaviors to relieve that pent-up energy and replace the current unhealthy strategies. Some parents swear that learning the deep breathing yoga techniques helped their kids manage their anger while others say their teens relax more when they go to a dark room and listen to quiet music. The trick is to find what works best for your child so he can learn how to take control of his temper and use the same tip each and every time until it becomes a habit and he can use the strategy without you. That will take practice, practice, practice. Each child is different so it’s best to use the trial and error approach: teach a strategy and then watch to see how your child responds. If the strategy and your child seem to “click” then focus on that one technique by practicing it again and again until your child can use it alone. That may take some time-after all you are helping your child change a habit-so hang in there. The use of past poor behavior when frustrated, feeling upset, or left out, etc is typically a precursor of future behavior given similar situations. She had already tried to suffocate him (hurt him), because she is hurting! No one wants to spend time with her anyone. In anger management, that is a key factor. You hurt me, now I’m going to hurt you! When I worked with children who expressed thoughts of anger and hurting another, we utilized many of the anger management techniques for children. A big hit for almost all of the children was the Thermometer. I used the “Thermometer” Technique with young children who had difficulty controlling their angry. They were able to recognize what signs their body was giving them before they “blew up”. They could then be more mindful and find activities that would not only remove them from the situation, but allow them time to cool down and many even went over the situation again in their head. They could then articulate, where the breakdown was and how it could be rectified. Children’s anger management techniques, are not that far off from Coping Skills. So in saying all of that, I struggled with this question and it to be ambiguous.

Thank you Phil, for all that you do! Best wishes on your test everyone 👋☺️

I have watched several of these question break down and really like them. One thing I have noticed is every answer that is seek supervision is wrong. So when would be the good time to seek supervision in regards to these questions? Would have liked to have been part of the 10/2 class just found about it today.
I feel like this vid got less views partly because the first 30 min is your own advertising. And then if you don't have Adblock...theres third party advertising every few min. Every time I skipped ahead to try to reach past your advertising/see what your video was about...BOOM ad ad ad nexxxxt
Love your trainings, but the dramatized commentary, repeating of words....no idea 3x, gun for the guy, don't have x-ray vision, punch in the face....not going to assume 8x times.....difficult to concentrate on training...be yourself the "extras" distract for the educational value in my opinion.

Hey Phillip, I just passed my LMSW exam on the first try two days ago. Your videos played a significant role in my passing. Just wanted to say thank you!! Your awesome.
Oh my goodness these are so hard! On question five I can't wrap my head around this. It seems like the means would be the stairs in the house, she has a plan to do that obviously and she has already shown intent from previous suffocation attempt. I don't think I can ever understand lol
Taking my law and ethics soon. 😯
Yessss, "Fail Forward!!" And "avail"!
Do these acronyms work for lmft as well ?
I'm fired up to attend your awesome training. I'm in Louisiana and your name came up by one of my co- workers. You helped her pass the exam.
This is the hypeman I need
I take the test November 16th. I have failed twice. Please tell me exactly what to do in the next few weeks to ensure I pass!!!
Send me an email at Berda24@gmail.com for info!
@@PhilintheGaps ok thank you I will do that now!!
@@PhilintheGaps Hi. I sent you an email last night but never received a reply. Please email me back. Thank you!
@@PhilintheGaps sorry nevermind I just found your reply. I'm not sure why I didn't see it before!
I am afraid, I have taken this exam 3 times and will do it my 4th time in January 2022. The last time I took it Jan 2020 I missed it by 4 points :( Phil, I've watched a few of your videos already as they were recommended by a colleague that passed on her first try, and thank you for breaking the questions down. Prayers and positive vibes needed!
I wish you well and hope you passed last month!
@@Luxurygroceries thanks doll, sadly I missed it by 1pt 🙃 testing anxiety is a real thing for me
What questions should we use the acronyms for is it when it has BEST, FIRST? Please help out so I know what to look out for.
Thank you for breaking down these 5 questions! I enjoyed this video and found it to be helpful!
I actually like the triple repeating of key phrases in the questions. Helps solidify it in my head. Thanks! Nervous but feeling better about my upcoming exam.
I watched you video and passed LSW . Now I am listening again to pass LCSW :)
I would like to attend session you mention in this video on 10/2 do we need to sign up or log on at a certain time?
Send me an email at Berda24@gmail.com for info!
I take mine on Tuesday 1/4/22. I have listened to you a lot. These are awesome and thanks for doing this
Phil I watched this video and I feel you were speaking to me. This is Melissa Doyon I appreciate your motivational speaking and you are so right. I will take what you said and focus on utilize one Techniques. I will also focus on positive thoughts when I take my exam for the 6th time in Dec. 2021.
I pray you passed! Please share your experience!
I have a Bsc in Social Work is the exam same as the LMSW? Because I’m preparing for my exam and need help
You can’t take the ASWB LMSW exam until you have a master’s degree.
You all DEFINITELY want to keep watching his videos and sign up for his group course! I’m now an LCSW, in part because I did just that ❤️ I’ve been watching his videos for about a year now, and then I made a last minute decision to sign for his group course a few days before my test! Literally one of the best decisions I could’ve made lol. I used other resources as well, however the group course really gave me the opportunity to ask specific questions, about areas I was weak in. Thank you Phil, for all that you do! Best wishes on your test everyone 👋☺️
Ok I’m somewhat new to Phil’s videos can someone tell me why he repeatedly says any length of time hop on top of it because it helps paint the picture of this present moment? Please and thank you lol
It means to be mindful of the time frames in the question as it can help decipher the answer choices.
Hey Phil! On August 31, 2021 I passed the MSW Clinical Exam in Michigan THE FIRST TIME!!! I was blown away when I saw the word “PASSED” on the computer screen!! Thank you for your guidance and encouragement!! YOU ROCK!! Thanks be to God for keeping my mind clear and helping me remember stuff. Thanks to my husband for driving to Lansing so I could study on the drive and sharing the day with me. And thanks to my friend Jennifer for helping me study!! I am stoked!!
Good afternoon and congratulations for passing on the first try. You are soo blessed. I took it 4 times so far and was not successful. I was given phil's info for different approach and your posting is very encouraging. Again congratulations.

I'm new here, what is this acronym you mention?
Please can you provide a link to the acronym you keep referring to? Thank you
It's on the left hand side of video
I’m taking my exam in a couple of hours, just needed to hear a little motivation one last time.
Ahhh I still disagree with question 5.
Sorry couldn't finish this video because of all the off comments feels, feels, feels, feels, feels....a tad manic.
hello Philip, taking a exam in 3 weeks . a bit stressed . Hoping to get some tips and ace the exam.

@@PhilintheGaps sent one this morning
how did you do?
Wow, he's an amazing motivator
I have a conditional license and will be eligible for my full licensure exam a week from tomorrow (as long as I don't miss any work). I work with several people who are straight out of grad school or who took a break after school and are coming back to study for their LMSW-cc. I've told them all to watch your podcasts and I'm hoping to have a watch party for some videos to group study. your application practice questions are exactly what I need, as well as the human development session on the 17th. Thanks so much!
Saying some prayers for my PASS tomorrow!

New subscriber, great breakdown Phil love your energy! will continue watching more videos on your channel and send you an email. My test is December 21st thank you thank you thank you
#3 makes no sense
Thank you! You came highly recommended! You talk fast lol but I guess that's so you can get as much information in as you can in a short amount of time. I take the LMSW test on Nov. 2nd. I will let you know when I pass the test!👀😊
We might need to do a show together "Two Phil's For One" lol...good content ✊🏾
I have watched several of these question break down and really like them. One thing I have noticed is every answer that is seek supervision is wrong. So when would be the good time to seek supervision in regards to these questions?
Would have liked to have been part of the 10/2 class just found about it today.

The sudden outburst is an overkill I get the purpose but please
Please stay original! Calm down…
Preach sir!!
Why are you yelling at me though 😂
I feel like this vid got less views partly because the first 30 min is your own advertising. And then if you don't have Adblock...theres third party advertising every few min. Every time I skipped ahead to try to reach past your advertising/see what your video was about...BOOM ad ad ad nexxxxt
Love your trainings, but the dramatized commentary, repeating of words....no idea 3x, gun for the guy, don't have x-ray vision, punch in the face....not going to assume 8x times.....difficult to concentrate on training...be yourself the "extras" distract for the educational value in my opinion.
