Finally, I was just watching your half life combine voice effects videos, and was wishing that there was a HECU one as I'm making a Black Mesa map, thank you!
Hey I don't if your up for suggestions from your comments but do you think you could do the Black Mesa HEV Suit voice? It sounds crisper and cleaner than the HL1 suit. Thanks in advance!
I will consider it, but it is a similar effect. I know that FL Studio is a better program for that particular effect, which many people don’t have, so for the meantime I am just sticking to Audacity tutorials. Thanks for understanding
Hey, would you be able to do a tutorial on how to get these voice changers live? I'd love to use these while playing Combine Soldier missions in Arma 3.
Can you make a tutorial on how to get that distinct Half-Life 1 sound? Low quality and also a very weird 3D effect going on. I haven't figured out what they actually did there
For the low quality part, I’d say the main thing is to lower the bitrate of the sound file. You can do this in Audacity by going to “Project Bitrate” in the bottom left of the screen, and selecting 11024 Hz.
My current plan is to make one last one for the HL2 metrocop, and after that... I don't know. I might retire the series, but I am open to the idea of taking commissions for custom voice effect tutorials from any game/media.
That's a good tutorial! But I think it's still kinda missing the radio filter that gasmask hecus have. You can compare the original, clear voice lines in hecu_grunt/male folder with hecu_grunt/female folder lines. They're, you know, sound more deeper and lower and with FX chain (the radio filter I'm talking about) applied on their voices and a light gasmask effect. I don't know how to explain that... Not complaining though, tutorial is good 👍
@@Bloxeryou don’t need a respirator, you just have to use other programs like FL studio and play around with the settings to get the exact effects you want since audacity is very primitive

No worries!
Just so you know you make lives of people who want to FULLY localize Black Mesa with full on VO a lot easier.
Thank you, I’m glad I could be of service!
doing this for fun was the highlight of my day. Thank you for the tutorial!
swag messiah
Glad you’re doing HECU’s now. Btw, any chance of you doing the HL1 HECU Voice variant?
so what you want to do is FREEMAN'S ASS.
I can't wait to see the metro cop one! i've been looking for one that has a macro and you always provide one
nice i suggest adding distortion 2 time + high pass filter + change pitch -19
Legend is back
Thanks for the tutorial, I'm waiting for the voice version of hecu from hl1
awesome
This might be a challenge. The overwatch voice coming from the metropolice radios.
thanks man!
No worries!
This is great, but could you do a combine overwatch soldier from HL2?
This is great! By any chance, can you make a tutorial of how to recreate the Black Mesa Announcement System when the military take over?
Thanks! I currently don’t have plans to make a Military Announcer tutorial but if more people are interested than I’ll definitely consider it
@@Dr_Al_ Thank you. I surely hope more people demand the military announcer cause I'm really desperate at this point lol

@@Dr_Al_ I appreciate the Reply!
I understand what you mean by that, keep the vids coming man.
Amazing work, as always.
Kinda interested if it's actually possible to recreate TF2 MVM Robot voice filter with these methods...
Hey man nice audacity tutorial! Can you do one for the vortigaunt? If it's possible?
For vortigaunt, you just need to put on a deep raspy voice. I don't think Audacity would be much help.
Would be cool if you could do a Half-Life 2 Combine
please make one for barney sound from black mesa & scientists too
No filters are required for those. Just accurate voice impressions.
still wanna see a video to give it a like :D@@Dr_Al_
how to sound like simon riley or "ghost" from COD.
I would really like to know how to make HECU sound, but from Half Life 1, not Black Mesa.

can you do a tutorial on the original half life 1 hecu (the more distoreted ones)
Half-Life 1 HECU Macro:
High-passFilter:frequency="200" rolloff="dB48"
Low-passFilter:frequency="4000" rolloff="dB48"
Distortion:DC_Block="0" Noise_Floor="-20" Parameter_1="100" Parameter_2="50" Repeats="0" Threshold_dB="0" Type="Hard Overdrive"
Limiter:gain-L="10" gain-R="10" hold="10" makeup="Yes" thresh="-10" type="HardLimit"
Compressor:AttackTime="0.2" NoiseFloor="-40" Normalize="0" Ratio="2" ReleaseTime="1" Threshold="-12" UsePeak="0"
Normalize:ApplyGain="1" PeakLevel="-1" RemoveDcOffset="1" StereoIndependent="0"
(Then afterwards make sure you set the track bitrate to 11025Hz)
Hope this helped!
Can you do the Combine Voices from HL2 like the CP and Combine Soldier
Will there be videos of this format only for other Valve games?
My current plan is to make one last one for the HL2 metrocop, and after that... I don't know. I might retire the series, but I am open to the idea of taking commissions for custom voice effect tutorials from any game/media.
Do Civil Protection pleaseee!
Is there a way to use these effects and play them through a microphone, so to use it like a voicemod?
Not with Audacity, unfortunately.
How to make a Tram Train voice from Black mesa?
I don’t know but if I were to guess I’d probably just use a high pass filter and a low pass filter.
Can you do one of the Half Life scientist?
Just do a good voice impression and lower the bitrate to 1600Hz
i dont have highpass filter for some reason
You might have to reinstall Audacity
How about a combine soldier from Half-life 2
Can you please tell me how do I make voice changer live on games ?
As far as I know, it's not possible to do in Audacity. You would need to use a different program like voicemod

Yeah my recreations are never going to be perfect, but hopefully its good enough.
I guess the best thing you could do is record yourself saying these lines with a respirator on.
