We still use it in Dayz as the standard voice for the Combine Soldier in the Dayz Rp server were in.
There's been a lot of remade Combine vocoders out there but this one is by far the most accurate I've seen. Awesome work!

This is one of, if not the only real time combine voicechanger that actually sounds like it! you are a genius
The original sound folder for half life 2 has macros for sound forge 4 that add all the effects that they used onto your voice. There’s one for overwatch city and radio, and there should be one for combine soldier. Now all you need is soundforge 4 (it’s extremely outdated so you’ll need to get it through secret means that aren’t really legal)

Ive been going through this about 15 times and i cannot for the life of me figure this out.
Hey man, this is awesome, but have you thought about making other filters for the other units like the CP and the HLA combine? that'd be awesome and the hl2rp community would owe you a huge service
i would so make a pack for the HL:A combine, the thing is, most plugins that those voice effects to function require money, and making people pay for expensive softwares just for a single voice changer would really suck. :(

that's the thing; i was always curious about making a voice changer pack as a standalone tutorial / video for people to use, however, most plugins that can achieve the VFX like the Combine Ordinal require people to pay for softwares, which is something i don't think anyone would be very interested in.

ah, it's great to hear that it is working now! yeah, voice suppression in discord cancels out voice changing effects, sometimes it's hard to notice it at first.

hey dude, quick question: is it possible to make it less crispy-OTAlike and more suited to Civil Protection work? By this, I mean a clearer, softer voice. I'm messing with the settings but I've been unable to achieve a great result
EDIT: we found how to do it. You need to lower the Formant to 1.4 and the Pitch to 7.0 in the GForm_3 settings (found on the mixer panel). It just works

For some reason my file manager says "Find Installed Plugins" and does not allow me to find the GForm_3.dll file. No one else seems to know how to do it.

For those who can't seem to get this to work on discord vc, make sure to turn off echo cancellation and set noise suppression to either "standard" or "none". Worked for me this way!

Hey, I followed all the steps and downloaded everything that was required, and everything seems to be working fine, except that the Cable Output isn't able to actually detected my voice. Im using a headset with a built in Mic, Idk if that changes anything or not, but so far it's not working after switching a bunch of stuff in settings. Could I please have some help with this?

That being said i don't quite trust myself in terms of wether or not it's working correctly. There's no way of hearing yourself? (Yes i have never used FL Studio before)
hi, and thank you so much! you can listen to yourself by either recording your voice in Audacity and selecting Cable Output as your recording microphone, OR you can go into Cable Output's device properties in Windows and enable "Listen to this device".

I've got a problem while trying to recreate this. Whenever I put the Gform plugin into a plugin folder, it doesn't show up on the plugin manager. Also, the option for "find more plugins" doesn't show up either.
Edit: Okay so it didn't show up when I searched for it but it was at the bottom of the plugin list. Very weird.

Awesome tutorial for all of this, everything is setup with ease and opened up smoothly, a true professional at laying out the details of this setup. However there is only one issue, and unsure if this will receive an update as it has been some time, but I could not help but notice there wasn't any comments about having this voice changer work with Valve Index. Everything is setup and done as intended but it appears I'm having trouble with testing audio for the Index, being that the headset has a built-in mic I could easily imagine it's rather difficult to have hearing on while using the voice changer on the same device. But if there is any possible solution to this issue at hand, I would truly appreciate it, dearly. Please and thank you. :)
i can assure you that it definitely works with the valve index! that's the headset that i use myself. i can share what i rig for myself when using this voice changer if it helps! i'll include a .7z that contains some images that better visualize what i'm talking about here. thank you so much for sharing so much kindness!!!

what i do is i go into the FL Studio ASIO settings and make sure that "Valve VR Radio & HMD Mic" is set as input and "CABLE Input" as output. once that is configured, i go into the Sound Control Panel in Windows and head to Recording, and there i go to "CABLE Output" and select Properties. if you then enable "Listen to this device", select the output device for the valve index which is "Index HMD" and then hit apply, your voice should now be relaying to your index's speakers.
if you do this, do make sure that you adjust the volume of the driver in the volume mixer! i usually turn down the audio driver so that the volume level is between 1% and 4% just so you can hear yourself ever so slightly and not accidentally talk over yourself.

Could someone please give me the list of effects that were used to recreate this voice effect, including the parameters of each effect? Instead of using this as a voice changer, I want to create a template for it in Audacity or Adobe Audition to apply to my raw voice files. Thanks!

welp, like all tutorials this is working for everyone but me.
alright, first of all gform isn't showing up completely in fl, neither in the plugins inside of the program nor the plugin folder whenever you search for compatible plugins.
two, whenever i try to load in the voice changer directly, fl states that 'Gform (VST)' could not be opened, and is ignored.
y'know as someone who knows a lot about computers, i know nothing about computers.
haha it's alright, i admit that FL can be a little tricky sometimes, especially if you're new to it, because the UI is quite confusing. if the listed plugin folders in the Plugin Manager don't seem to work when you place the "GForm.dll" inside of any of them, you could try adding a directory manually to the plugin manager and have it set to your desktop. then once you've done that, place the gform file is placed there as well and then try running another scan. i would try this first before anything else just to make sure we know what the problem is.

I'l have a question concerning the FL Studio :
Is the trial version time limited, like : 30 days, afterward you'll have to buy or pass... ? or is it only limited in options avialable, and I can do whatever I want with the trial version, for how long I want ? 'Cause your tutorial is great and seems relatively simple to follow... But I don't think I'll go further than that with this tool. And, if I must invest 200$ to keep what is a "simple gimmick" to use in game or roleplay, that's a bit of a burden. ( haven't downloaded it just yet... if I have so much days before it passes out, gonna need to know how to use it first, where, and how to make the best use of it. XD )

thank you for the kind comments! to answer your question, the trial version of FL Studio does not have an expiration date, but having the trial version will limit you from saving your own project files that you can use yourself, as well as being witness to some subliminal advertising. please don't feel obligated to spend $200 on FL Studio if you don't feel as if you need it!
also, side note, but i actually think you can purchase the Fruity Edition of FL Studio for $100 instead of $200. it has more limited features but it's better than spending more money you probably won't be using hahaha!

I never used this kind of program before, t'was just as I was looking for ways to record some radio chatter ( a personnal mod for fallout 4 ) / roleplay with me buds... But knowing I can goof around as much as I want with the demo version will teach me some basis. Future will tell if I have what it takes to go further and invest. ^^
If you get stuck on the gform thing you make a file path (preferably downloads) and copy the gform file into downloads (on file explorer NOT the file path menu) and then click look for new plugins
i got the gform to show up but for some reason when i try to load it in the flp it just says something like 1 plugins could not be loaded then it says gform and on the right of it it says problem missing do you know how to fix this?

I have a problem with the "HL2_combine.flp" file.
It will no longer open in FL Studio, and the icon has been removed, Resulting in the Default Application Icon.
I recently did a Disk Cleanup, but that was a one-time thing.
And I re-downloaded the files, same thing happened. Default icon, wont open.
Do you have any fixes for this?

ah, no worries! in the plugin manager there is an entire list of directories you can choose from and even add your own, as long as the plugin is in any of those directories you should be good to go.

If this is a VST, is there a chance it might work with other DAWs like LMMS? Is realtime voice conversion a limitation of the software, or could it be used on prerecorded audio?

Sorry to bother, but I have an issue with the VB Cable things.
I've installed them once and it just flat out didn't work, so I reinstalled it and tried again just to accidently deceive myself because I forgot to change the audio settings. I can say that FL Studio works, along with the stuff from the google drive, only part that doesn't work is the cable stuff and I'm unsure on how to fix it. I also don't know if FL Studio isn't meant to pick-up audio from the basic input drivers a computer has or not, as it's only picking up audio from the FL Studio ASIO thing it has, and nothing else.
Any help would be appreciated

I have question. I have seen that vid before and yet, thank you so much, but recently I changed computers and you know, I needed to pre install everything. The problem is, I cannot find the VST plugin folder for some reason.
I couldn't find the VST Plugins folder anywhere on my desktop. I need help, please?
on the plugin step, you need to download GForm (link is in the description) and then place any of the accepted directories within the Plugin Manager. once you've done that, you need to click the unverify plugins button, hit the find plugins button, and then locate GForm within the list and toggle the star icon next to it. (keep in mind that you can add your own directory through the Plugin Manager if you want to!)
Hey, I don't exactly know how to put gform in anything. Is there something I have to put in? I put in the two files that were there (They just didn't say .ddl) and it said that I have to use a folder that has fl studio installed.

are you certain that the file directory you placed the gform plugin is able to be read by FL Studio? can it be seen in the directory list in the Plugin Manager?

For some reason my voice sounds a lot more distorted when other people hear me, and they can't tell what I'm saying most of the time.
When listening to playback from my own mic, it sounds nice and clear, but it's a lot more distorted when other people hear me.
usually other people simply have a harder time understanding voice changers. out of curiosity, what microphone do you happen to be using? the voice changer output can greatly differ depending on your microphone.
Do you know where I could find different voices, looking for some star wars voices but can't find these flp files like you have for the combine.
