בעת מעמד חלוקת הדולרים ביום ראשון ה' מרחשון תשנ"ב, ביקר אצל הרבי מליובאוויטש הרב מרדכי ווילליגער, אשר סיפר לרבי שקיבל לידיו חבילת פ"נים [=פדיון נפש], על-מנת להעבירם אל האדמו"ר הריי"צ ששהה באותה תקופה במקום-מרפא.
