Seventeen Oilers rookies participated in this summer's Development Camp, but instead of lacing up the skates, the focus was on off-ice training and team bonding.
the no-ice component seemed weird to me but the more I think about it, the more I actually it's incredibly smart. I can imagine there's a ton of pressure to essentially upstage each other or at least prove themselves on the ice at these camps, so they likely wouldn't end up taking away anything worthwile from it anyway. these kids are already amazing hockey players, so it makes a lot of sense to focus on developing them as people and building brotherhood so they can thrive as a team once they do hit the ice. love to see new coaching practices take off!
This type of camp sounds like a lot of great ideas, I'm sure, for how to handle the career of hockey by the sounds of it. Bravo to whomever came up with this idea. 👏👏🏒🏒
Looking good boys keep up the good work

After all these good moves in the off season Jackson DESTROYS our reputation by hiring Bowman 🤮
