  • Your customer service agent could be an inmate. In the final part of a series about life in jail, CNA meets some of the Changi Prison inmates working at a call centre - from the inmate who had to decline a customer’s offer to send lunch to her workplace, to another who’s been in prison so long her last phone was an iPhone 3. Wow! Didn't know that there is a call centre in the prison. All the best to the ladies there. I pray that you will turn over a new leaf and lead a meaningful life outside of the prison.

      Cheap labour exploitation ?

      @@tkh2944 in some countries prisoners are equivalent to slaves and hence can be treated as trash, such country is USA they pay prisoner fireman $1 a day and are to put out fire without PPE in the middle of nowhere hence SG prisoner call center have it pretty good, sit in office and do office things way better than putting out fire with risk of dying and no one would care about it, the only countries where prisoners are treated better are the Scandinavian countries where you have mass killers like Ander Breivik living like hotel guest in maximum security prison without window bars and have the key to their cell.

    This is good, keep up the good job. And they can join the work force immediately after release from prison. This is a good program and the Changi Prison did a good job.

      Why not? I think it is a good idea to reward good behaviour with a meaningful work, learning opportunities, and in the end remission where possible.

    My question is how much are they paid 🤔🤔They should be paid decently so they have a sum of money to get back on their feet when they get out... also if they are paid very low wages there is a conflict of interest/risk that society is incentivised not to reduce recidivism, this is how the prison industrial complex in US got started

    I wonder what crime did Marsha and Sandy commit to actually stay so long in prison but not gonna speculate. All I wish is that they get to reintegrate into society and able to live as normal people, and repent for their mistakes

    If you have still have family support outside it is fine to come back out. If not and you are already used to life in there it might be better to continue to stay inside instead. You will cry when you get out and see how much Singapore have changed and how bloody expensive the pap have turn Singapore into while you all are inside. I dont know how you all are going to adapt and adjust to the outside life again when you all are released. I hope society and god can treat you all well with mercy.

    Not bad right? I mean going to jail. Free food and lodging and if you stay long enough in it you can even further your studies in it and acquire some modern career skills too.
    Of course you can do all these outside but the cons are you have to foot the bills yourself. Here it is all state funded.

    In USA we allow private corporations to profit from prisoners, rather than the state or the tax payers who are footing the bill to put them in prison, shareholders take the profit, tax payers get the shaft!

    • @ainzooalgown7589
      @ainzooalgown7589 Месяц назад

      because your 13th Amendment states that prisoners are slaves and hence corporations take that and exploit it and the government loves it since they can now get large pool of workers and pay them scraps and they will be grateful for it hence why the US prison population is so large.

    It really explains why many calls now are very frustrating as we have to constantly check they are getting the right meanin, As many have flawed comprehension and listening disabilities, is it not very risky to provide them with access to personal and sensitive information much as compassion is regarded?

    All got nice thick full head of hair. Not much stress and have proper rest inside i presume. The office ladies i know and see outside alot of them do not have hair as nice as the ladies here despite spending money going to salons and buying all kinds of mumbo jumbo stuffs to stay young and healthy.
    Its a jungle out here. Lol
