It makes sense unless your name is Dylan Cease. Who would want to go to a last place team that won't be in contention until after the rebuild. They shot themselves in the foot by not extending Vladdy and now face the consequences of their boneheadedness.

Too bad Atkins is at the helm sitting on his hands doing nothing again this offseason. Gotta build a proper team before you go after the big fish (ohtani, soto, burnes Etc) no legit star is coming to a dysfunctional franchise like this at the moment.
My favorite trade for the Orioles is actually to get Seattle's Bryce Miller, who's 26, had stats similar to Corbin Burnes by going 12-8, 2.94 ERA, and 0.94 WHIP on a putrid hitting Mariners team. Oh, and he doesn't go to arbitration until 2026 and isn't a free agent until 2030. He checks all of the boxes.
I would rather have miller, gilbert, or Kirby as opposed to castillo, but Seattle isn't going to get rid of one of their young starters. The only reason they're getting rid of a starting pitcher is because they're looking to shed salary. So I'll take Castillo but he would be my 4th choice in that rotation
That's not too much for Toronto. Schneider has cooled off and Rodriguez is a back of the rotation guy. Cease gives you ace or your second best pitcher stuff. A 1-2-3 of Gausman, Cease, Barrios with Bassett as your #4 is probably one of the better rotations in the league. If that's what it took to get San Diego to accept you do this deal 10/10 times
if i were the Rangers, i’d make that trade, Dunning is replaceable, losing Smith sucks, and Osuna may never get a MLB shot with the Rangers. I feel confident in our ability to resign Cease in FA only IF he has already played for us
As much as I love Dean, swap Kremer for McDermott in the O's package, and I'm there. The Morton signing screams of a move to make Dean available. That said, offer this to the Twins instead for Pablo, and I'm really in.
Agreed. I concur fully. I like Kremer but I think he's the odd man out. I'd rather keep Suarez than Kremer now because he's been good both starting and relieving. I could also see the Orioles include a comp pick (this year it's a comp B instead of a comp A) instead of a player. I could see Mountcastle, Kremer and either a Comp B or McDermott.
@@scottbryan455you are completely out of your mind and clueless when it comes to baseball if you would rather include anybody in a trade over suarez. I see these Latino pictures come from out of nowhere after years of being obscure and finally have one good year only to go back to sucking really bad after the one fluke season. This was his career year so it would be great for him to go to the San Diego Padres and play with his brother.
