I have a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3 L V6 Flex fuel ! Thank You so very much for making this video! I have never be able to get my Radiator Fans to work! I've replaced Coolant Temp Sensor, Radiator Resister, even the fan relay, and switched out all relays/ fuses in my Tipm! Even changed the radiator! Just today I watched a video that says: if I can't keep feon in my a/c and if there is a leak within the system,,, then my radiator fans will never come on nor ever work until I fix that leak! The leak is coming from the rear passenger- side near right wheel! Of course it's the evaperator leaking back there! You my friend just showed me a cheaper/ easier way to fix my problem ! Just ordered me a set of those plugs off of ebay! Again Thank You ! P.S. Once you repair A/ C lines with these plugs do as this man is doing and suck out all feon and air but once done wiggle all your relays and fuses, this will help to kick on the radiator fans! Mechanic of 30 yrs informed me of that last bit of - simple knowledge! Good Nite Everyone!
Also don't forget to change that cabin filter if you're doing this block off. You would be surprised how far back that AC goes to the back of the cabin
Shop told a family member of mine that the front evaporator has a leak. I believe they have the next gen Caravan though. Is it possible to delete the front evaporator without ripping apart the entire dash?
@@RustBeltAuto one of my lines that make the 45 degree climb into the engine bay sprung a leak. I would like to just cut it and terminate both lines at that point. There is a company in Flint, MI that sell termination kits.
Great video. Let's say someone wanted to pull the rear mechanical blower to build out extra storage for a camper build. Using your method it looks pretty doable but what happens when these things get unplugged? Do error codes present issues do the unplugged harnesses need to do anything? (2010 Caravan)
No error codes. It is pretty much a non essential item. It would be nice if there was a module for diagnosis in a/c units, but I have not seen one yet.
Mr mechanic, how many holes do I have to stick it in to diagnose the vehicle problem? Let's find out. A one. A two. A three. Three. How many holes do you stick it in to diagnose a problem? The world may never know.
If you google caravan rear a/c block off, you will see a bunch. I'm sure a lot of parts stores can get them, but usually when I ask, they have no idea. I have a 1-800 radiator warehouse near me that has them.
Hmmm all these videos ive watched of people doing this, you all do it the same way, underneath the car, on your back, fighting with the exhaust BUT, I looked at the lines in the engine bay, right behind the engine you could do this same thing at the factory T's, Looks like the same fittings and easy access while standing ( I have a 2008 dodge grand caravan sxt 3.8)
They are on Ebay pretty cheap, that screws into a manifold. You cannot see what comes out though. If there are things that can be made from what is laying around, that is what's used. Takes a long time to build up a good system from scratch on your own, but I'm working on it.
Customer should do a Caravan delete kit. I was waiting for you to say "MacGyver Wrench" LoL! Looks like blood from the Predator dripping out of that line!! IF IT BLEEDS WE CAN KILL IT!!!! OKAY BYE!

Thanks bye
What are those 2 lines called?
High, and low pressure A/c lines?
Just did mine but mine is placed above the exhaust line so I have to freaking manouver for 2 hours instead of a 15 minute job like yours.
Also don't forget to change that cabin filter if you're doing this block off. You would be surprised how far back that AC goes to the back of the cabin
Great video thanks for all provided details
I have a 2011 Grand Caravan Crew, but not seeing those disconnects up towards the front. Looks like I will have to delete somewhere else🤷🏼♂️
Follow the lines. You will see it.
How do i get the line to not have pressure?
You can take it to a shop, and have them evac it. If you do the work, it should be empty, because it all leaked out.
Can that kit fit on the rear also? Where the leak always happens?
You block off all of the rear
Shop told a family member of mine that the front evaporator has a leak. I believe they have the next gen Caravan though. Is it possible to delete the front evaporator without ripping apart the entire dash?
I don't know. Probably. Never heard of someone doing such a thing.
Do the auto parts stores sell the the lines upstream of those fittings?
I believe so.

@@ExtremeRecluse most parts stores can get them. They just don't know it.

I bought the block off kit for my 2013 Grand Caravan and installed them and they leaked so I'm still without AC
to be honest even with just the front AC working the back will still get cold, it'll just take longer than usual for that to happen is all

Put a stick in the hole. Problem solved.
Wow thats a good news.but where can you buy this?

Thanks for the video. Two of my local mechanics made a dramatic claim of difficulty. Both 5 hours @ 90 per hour plus parts, another 230 for the kit.
@@garyholden1340 that's an amazing story.
Amazon..under$20..all kinds of them.
Good job .nice no rattles.

It's possible. Think I have done that too. Come to think of it, maybe the connections are backwards up there?
@@RustBeltAuto dont know what you mean by backwards, one small line, one larger line. Looks like the block off kit would work though
I think the wrong side is female up there.
That sucky device is a good idea. Going to have to make one.
