  • Packing a paraglider properly can help extend its life and performance. Knowing how to do it well can also shorten your pack times and effort. This is a technique that I have known about for a long time, but have only started implementing recently, to wonderful effect.
Saves time. Easy in the wind. Perfect pack every time. Has the glider come out of the bag untangled and ready to fly every time. Hope it helps!

    Nice video 🤩👍
I think there are *almost* as many ways of packing a glider, as there are pilots 🤣
Recently, I try to collapse my glider when I land, so that it's half on top of itself, wing-tip to wing-tip, lines inside, top-surface outermost.
Then, I lay the concertina bag next to the wing-tips, and starting with the *uppermost tip*, arms stretched out, concertina it into the bag.
The advantage is that the wing isn't dragged over the ground - only over itself.
The disadvantage is that my arms aren't quite long enough to do it without the occasional bit of extra folding. 😂😂😂
    Cheers buddie.
    😁👍

I have the Impress 4 also and use similar packing method, ruling out the need for packing pillow, and wing is always connected to harness. Holding the A-lines and shaking the glider over concertina bag - I call it the Steve Ham method as he showed it to me. This aligns the leading edges well, although I always also gather them one by one. Furthermore, after concertina is closed, I place it so that the leading edges are against the back of the backpack as there's more padding, and a lump of human, so it's more protected, and it's more straight than the outer curved side of the backpack which is more exposed to the elements, hits and cuts. Cheers.

The final few bits of text get covered up by the Next Video recommendation, so:
"Hope that helps! Its a paraglider, fly it and don't worry that much about your packjob.
Trade it for experience by turning it to dust in the sky!"
