- Scenes recorded on Saturday January 15th, 2000, of diesel locomotives 42219 & 42210 hauling empty oil train no.2138 from Canberra to Enfield. This was the last regular run of 422 class locomotives on a FreightCorp service.
Fantastic videos, shame there isn't any more 422's left in service as 422's, only a few 22 classes. Also HL203 & FL220 i spose in WA
5:33 the trainways 422 horn
Love the Molonglo Tunnel footage - same as the one you did featuring 42220 Heavy Load Trials. The 422s had their own unique chug that drowned out anything on track.
Excellent excellent. Video
Lovley shot there of those 422 classes nice work
Should use those oil wagons to transport water throughout the country
That requires thought 🤔 governments don't do that
@@markaylott1780 And a shedload of cleaning-out.
Whatever became of TNT loading on Intermodal services?
When were they first introduced?
1968-69
Are they a Alco locomotive they certainly sound like Alco's
no, they are emd's. they are about the same as the 42's but in a box. check out the wikipedia entry to find out more.
No, GM's
I feel insulted!!! 😡 Since when does an Alco sound like a Roots Blown GM??? 🤬
are any still in service with other operators?
Yes there still a few around saw a 422 on a grain run from Whittingham a few months back
