This song rocks! One of my all time favorite Christmas songs!

That's Lisa Germano on violin! The last time she played with John was Dance Naked! She's on the album but not the tour although she did appear with him 1995 at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame when they opened up that tour. Ever since she left playing with John Mellencamp, she started a solo career making great albums with great songs which you can listen to her singing with violin I think guitar but I don't know about that (if she plays guitar). Because you like her violin playing, I suggest you check out her solo albums and tunes!!!!!!🎻🎻🎻👍👍👍

Mellencamp and band at their finest. I saw their Lonesome Jubilee show at the Met Center in Bloomington, MN in 1988. It was the best live concert I have ever seen. Period.

This was an iconic lineup, Kenny on drums, was for me, the epitome of drummers during that era. Kenny went on to play with John Fogerty and a host of others, always rock steady! Gotta say, watching this video always gets me in the heartstrings. Where the hell does the time go...

I saw him last April, 2019. I had to leave during the first song. I had my autistic son with me and it was too much for him. Someone asked me why we were leaving & I told her. 1 month later John sent something to me. Its on my youtube page. He's the kindest man ever. It'll always remain a mystery to me how he know who I was.

Back in Christmas of 91 we were watching an episode of Rossannnnn as this song played in the background. In our 50 foot trailer this was a luxury. 9 women with cigarettes came to visit my father. We had ketchup/spam spaghetti and butter sauce with brown noodles. Dog hair was everywhere and our dog died a year earlier. Miss those days.

At 3 years old, I saw them on this tour. Remember the Jesus bass drum. Still have the ticket stub all these years later. June 1988 at Pine Knob, Auburn Hills, Michigan.
The lonesome jubilee tour swung around twice to select cities and Edmonton was one of them . We saw all our friends camped out overnight for tickets all over again. Time sure flies by . Cheers d s

This was John´s best band, with Lisa, Kenny... Lonesome Jubilee was probably John Mellencamp at his greatest. This band rivaled the Estreet band, they were so great. John never had such a good band again.
Don't really care for most versions of this song, but I think John did a pretty bang up version of this tune. Always gets me in the spirit when I hear it. Might be the only tune that I ever liked of Mellencamp's.

This video was shot live at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis December of 1987. The little girl is Johns daughter. The video for "Check it out" was made the next night at the same venue. I attended that show,it was Mellencamp at his peak. That lil girl is all grown up now,and married.

She was forced to work at minimum wage at Book Soup in San Fernando Valley and at Whole Foods to make ends meet.

@vic1161 This video was shot in dec. of 1987 at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis. It was shot earlier in the day and that nite he performed. What a show that was. The video for check it out was taped during that show. He put one hell of a show on that nite!
