Or the agents on the blue rose task force solving weird cases or just following the owl ring to each season ending with the next person that gets the ring.
I really loved how, when this show came out, it was so unique, and something audiences had never seen on network TV. Thank you for your detailed video! You’re right. So hard to describe to someone who had never seen it.
The Return is awesome. I've only seen it once when I was able to binge it on a 7 day trial of Showtime. I think it did a perfect job of blending the horror/suspense with the quirkiness of the original series. The Return was a master work.
Twin Peaks as a whole changed my life. No hyperbole. It changed my way of thinking and taught me that even in the darkest pits of humanity, through all the suffering... there will always be someone who loves.
A video like this with so many clips must take forever to do! This was such an amazing video, it totally made me need to go watch the series again starting tonight!
Thank you for this video. I'm so thankful to find someone else that loves this show as much as I do. Twin Peaks was always my favorite show and I love that I've been able to re-watch it. I love your insight into the show and it's deeper meanings.
Having taken a college class just on this TV show, yes for one semester all we studied was Twin Peaks and the finals was write a paper explaining why it is such a great tv show. Thanks for this video, brought back memories from 3 years ago.
Twin Peaks never really clicked for me until after I moved to Washington. I was prompted by a friend to give it a watch again, and being familiar with the area made it so much creepier. The whole series just seems that more surreal when the real places of "Twin Peaks" are a 30 minute drive away. I've end up watching the series every few years, and when The Return came I was ecstatic.
@@Posit_Zero_Blue Thank you! I bought Twin Peaks because I only got to watch parts of it back in the day so bored with Covid 24/7 so we buy movies/series to watch alot now. Anyways, started watching The orginal TWIN Peaks and wanted to buy Fire walk with me when people talked about The Return so making sure I get all the videos!
@@evilqueen515 No problem. Glad to help. I personally look at twin peaks like a trilogy of sorts. First 2 seasons are part 1. Fire Walk is part 2. And season 3 is...drum roll...part 3! lol. If you really want to get into the lore, I'm told the books are pretty great. You guys have fun watching!
The intro and the background just give me a comfortable feelings. Makes me feel like I’m in the late 80’s n early 90’s. Gives me a creepy comfy feel as well
This was such a good video. I appreciate how much you put into it. You made it so much more special by actually knowing and being invested in the show and characters . Could really tell that you enjoyed making this video. Thanks 🦉🦉
I’m a forever Twin Peaks fan. I loved Fire Walk With Me. It is such a hard series to explain to someone that’s never heard of anything Twin Peaks. Like said either you love it or hate it. David Lynch is one of my favorite directors, I get his POV. #LetsRock
Binge watched season 1 and loved it. Kept me wanting more. Couldn’t make it through season 2, it was driving me crazy. David Lynch needs other creatives and writers around to help keep him grounded, IMHO.
My sister was obsessed with this show in 90s she had the VHS collection and probably the movie as well. I'm 43 and just watched the movie Fire walk with me last weekend on TCM underground last weekend. Truthfully I found his short films they played afterwards one being called I think the grandmother was bazaar af and crazy to watch coming down from a acid trip. The movie however I couldn't take my eyes off but at same time was completely creeped out by the amount of lust all these middle aged men have for the teenage girls in the town. Their are definitely good things and bad things about it.
A very enjoyable reminiscent assement of Twin Peaks. The use of the word "fucking" to express fondness for a scene, character or an episode, struck as cold, abrasive and really not necessary.
Twin peaks is something that really defies proper explanation. I have come up with several competing theories to explain the events in a single narrative and its possible none of them are accurate to the intentions of Frost and Lynch. The concept is so easy, a girl dies and an FBI agent goes to investigate. That is the hook, the thing that brings you into the town of Twin Peaks and a big part of the show is just the writers and directors spending time with various residents of the town and as they do you get exposed to more and more weirdness and this dark undertone that is always present grows more and more pronounced. After that though you get into wild speculation, all I will leave you with is a hint, did Dale Cooper ever leave the room where Caroline was killed by her husband or are the events Dales passage through the lodges on his way to perfection? Why is Dale always wounded in the stomach in roughly the same place? Those two questions combine together to form a possible explanation, but that could easily be replaced by aliens. "Through the darkness of future past a magician longs to see, one chants out between "two worlds" fire walk with me." I am not saying its aliens but...
Sorry, had to bail at the 10 minute mark. After tripping all over the narration and the actor's names, calling Albert Rosen(stein)field (2 seconds of research) over the scene where he SPELLS his name to the receptionist was enough.
More geeky stuff; there are even several fan-theories out there that connect not only 'X-Files', but virtually EVERY major sci-fi/supernatural show from the 90's and early 2000's with this show in a "Shared Multiverse"! (even 'Quantum Leap'!) =)
I don't get it I've never gotten it and your video didn't help me to get it I'm more fascinated that there are fans of this work than I ever have been by the work itself there are college courses on this series yes I've watched it numerous times and never once have I walked away with any understanding of what went on in the narrative it's just over my head
Is this horror, sci-fi or neo-noir? I mean, Lynch brilliantly succeeds at all three genres. But, it is very hard to classify or label or pigeonhole any of his films, let alone TWWIN PEAKS.
The first 2 seasons are still my favorite TV show of all time. The Return did not impress me, it seemed a random collection of scenes, mostly with new characters. It answered nothing and demeaned Agt. Cooper.
Lmao this show is weird as fuck. Extremely awkward acting? YES. Overdrawn creepy scenes? YES. I just started watching it and for some reason it’s addicting.
I tried watching Twin Peaks several years ago and it was just WAAAY too 90s for me. Kind of like going back to watch Sliders, which I used to love, but damn it's bad now lol. Anyway, maybe I'll try again and just try to ignore the 90s cringe/corniness.
Modern Family is a show that lasted too long for its own good. 11 seasons that got progressively worse and the characters became caricatures of themselves
Shows that ran to long. Supernatural. I loved that show but jesus 15 SEASONS! 23 EP. A PIECE!!(for the most part) completely of the rails doesn't cover it.
taking twin peaks 'at face value' is an awful statement. that would be just a bunch of incoherent random shit for 30 episodes. especially form lynch whose movies are all but dune pseudo deep that noone but him understands.
Twin Peaks is the most perfect thing , its smart and treats the audience as smart. Its not just a tv show its an experience
Words cannot adequately describe my deep and endearing love for this show and it's characters.
We need a spin-off where Coop goes crime fighting with the llama.

"Now that's a good cup of coffee."
Damn good coffee, and hot!
Wrong quote
David Lynch is the best character in the whole thing.
His reactions to everything bring me out in laughter every time. "He's dead."
YOU GOTTA SPEAK SIR!
Twin Peaks as a whole changed my life. No hyperbole. It changed my way of thinking and taught me that even in the darkest pits of humanity, through all the suffering... there will always be someone who loves.
I've binge watched it before several times, and it never gets old...glad to see I'm not alone..💕🇨🇦

20% in the show are the best tv ever! But... Too bizzare... Too chaotic. Too Lynch...
I re-watched the last season just yesterday, by some "coincidence". I'm generally not so emotional but whooaaaaa... really brought it out.

I love your take on this show. Great video. Keep it going sis.
Is the audio changing on purpose?
Gosh Passions was bad and I could not stop watching it!
It's one of the greatest TV shows ever made
I also spent a weekend in Twin Peaks. Its an amazing place!
Thank you for inspiring me to do a complete start to finish rewatch.❤️💯👏👏👏👏👏
Wonderful. Thank you
One of best tv shows of 1990s the cast was so good especially Kyle Mcallahan, Richard Baymer, Sherlyn Fen.
I always hear about this show..buy I've never seen it! 🤔 seems awesome 👌
@18:45 Is that Heather Graham?
No
Yes it is!
Rosenstein?! Rosenstein? Rosenfield.
Excellent stuff! Please use a hard-limiter on your voice track next time to eliminate jumps in volume, cheers!
Please do a full video on The Return!

Lynch wasn't around for season 2 past the reveal (until the finale), though?

11:34 lmao I thought that "wtf" was going to be about his Theres something about Mary hair lol
Wasn't there a similar series called picket fences? If i remember right, it was actually inspired by twin peaks
Allan Wake, reminded me a bit of Twin Perks.
She literally says that at the end of the video.
Season 2 drags and season 3 is frustrating but I would gladly take 20 seasons of that over most shows

The lady doing the VO gets a few things wrong, maybe get a real fan to do it if there's a next time. Amateur hour.
1. It's "Albert Rosenfield" not "Rosenstein."
2. It's "Garmonbozia" not "Garbonzo."
