A small folded towel works just fine. Even my beanbag is fine. Possibly because it is very well filled.

+Robert Tangen its a well made piece of equipment, I've had mine for over 5 years with no problem. Yes it's expensive but you get smooth pans while using a beanbag or shooting from the roof of a safari vehicle. Please also notice I have no affiliate link with this I'm not recommending this to make money, I believe more people need to know about equipment like this that can help them make better images and video.
