Cochineal is a beetle, found mostly in Mexico, which was used for most traditional crimson and cool pink dyes before more modern synthetic dyes. Pyrrol red deep, quinacridone red and quin magenta are all good lightfast replacements. It's mostly used as a food dye these days, but is still available for paints and fabric dyes.
I love your videos! You explain the colors and pigments in detail but still simple enough that its clear and not monotonous. You dont ramble and make scripted jokes but still know how to keep our attention. I think you should make more videos, definitely, if you have the resources; maybe like pigments or brand comparisons, you could start with the paint you have now ...idk..i just know id definitely watch them.
