The big cluster at 14:00 is AMAZING! Beautiful piece. Neat to see some of the points curved. Such unique formations going on there at that site. Great video Joe!

      Thank you Tony!
It’s pretty fun, think you’ll like it there. Right now, they aren’t accepting any minors. I forgot to add that in my video. They’ll eventually have a kid section and offer privately digs. They’re working up to it. Thanks again!!

Thank you on the information on that. I would of asked abby to go before i figured out she couldn't go. It wouldn't end well for me. She love getting dirt under her nails.

Beautiful material there! $50 a bucket seems fair, shame so much of them are broken though! Thanks for sharing!

Wow! Those are some GREAT finds! I'm going to have to look into flash mountain. Looks like a good spot. I really love the crystals you found. Hard to pick a favorite!

Yeah, definitely look into it. In fact, coming from southeast MO, this mine is probably closer to you than the others, maybe?

If you haven't tried one, I'd recommend a textile cleaning gun to get the clay out of the nooks and crannies. It lets the iron out/oxalic get deeper into that deeply imbedded iron staining, and lets you reach clay you can't get out with a pick due to angles etc.

      Thanks, Matthew!
The mine owner said that they have accidentally ruined some of their pieces due to the textile gun, as some of the quartz pieces can be pretty fragile and can’t take the pressure.
So, what I have been doing, is soaking them, letting them dry out, then re-soaking them. The expanding/contracting of the mud eventually is wearing out little by little. It might take me a while, but I’ll get them there…
      Thanks again!!

I was wondering what all do you do to get your crystals clean, mine either turn black in some places due to the iron out if left in too long, and then i get a chalky look on some as well when i wash them afterwards. I'm new to collecting crystals so I'm always welcoming any tips or information on them.

I heard it cost almost $50 to dig our search for crystals there. If so that's sad cos I just don't resonate with that.

Yes, it was $45 when I went, and the digging time was from 11-5.
Honestly though, I had a blast. The amount of crystals that I got and the quality of some of them made it more than worth it. You’ve gotta be willing to put in the work and effort though!
