No other actor can do what Denzel Washington does in Malcolm X. People who claim Denzel is anything less than one of the finest actors ever are just plain ridiculous.
@thelittlefactsvideos Wait wait which one of them are you talking about they kind of look the same are you talking about Denzel Washington Samuel L Jackson Will Smith Martin Lawrence or someone else Maybe Martin Luther King😂

Some actors actually look like the real person Some actors can simply copy the person’s speech mannerisms But actors who are able to do BOTH. That’s always amazing
There are few things we’ve learned about ‘Raging Bull’ directed by Martin Scorsese: - Toxic Masculinity. - Insecurity. - Ephebophilia. - Domestic violence. ‘Raging Bull’ is still one of my top 5 favorite Martin Scorsese movies of all time. The real Jake LaMotta, may he rest in peace.
This video needed some honorable mentions - you can’t leave out Gary Oldman as Winston Churchill in The Darkest Hour, Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth II in The Queen, Will Smith as Muhammad Ali in Ali….and I would dare adding Rami Malek as Freddy Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody as well.
Wait wait which one of them are you talking about they kind of look the same are you talking about Denzel Washington Samuel L Jackson Will Smith Martin Lawrence or someone else Maybe Martin Luther King😂
I am assuming portrayals of historical women will be in another video (Blanchette as Hepburn and Elizabeth I, Streep as Thatcher, Theron as Wounos,, Coleman as Queen Anne, Kidman as Woolf, Bassett as Turner, etc). However, may I add Joquin Phoenix as Cash, Will Smith as Ali, Forrest Whitaker as Amin, Laurence Fishburne as Turner, Geoffrey Rush as de Sade, Colin Firth as King George IV, and Eddie Redmayne as Hawkins?
@@sainttea12 tho personally didn't like the iron lady, bad writing, most of the film Streep is running around as a senile old bat and most of the actual portrayal of thatcher's career is superficial at best
Daniel Day Lewis won best actor for playing Christy Brown an exceptional immersion into a life of a perplexing individual and one of the best acting ever

For that era yes one that stands the test of time at a time where story trumped accuracy Gary Cooper brought both in equal quantity put on my snub list
No doubts about any of these tho I would say there are some snubs and ill also say Lawrence of Arabia is a stretch but due to the script not the acting. Here are some snubs. Zac Efron - Kevin Von Erich - The iron claw while there were historical issues with side characters (omitting the controversy regarding David's death, completely leaving our Chris Von Erich) Kevin as the reserved conflicted but determined rock (and sole survivor) of the family has been praised by wrestling historians as factual and well portrayed by the former teen heartthrob Paul Dano - pet sounds era Brian Wilson - Love and Mercy while John Cusak's portrayal of 80s Brian has been criticized namely as being told thru the lens of Brian's late Wife Melinda Paul Dano as young Brian has been lauded for capturing both the genius and mental health decline of Brian Wilson over a short time and capturing him as a producer not just part of the beach Boys or as a bombed out madman. Helen Mirren - Queen Elizabeth II - the queen yes a narrow script but down to the animal love and her wwII taught prowess in auto repair were treated with the same weight even if the script was narrow and limiting George C Scott - George Patton - Patton. Great detail in the general's philosophy not just his accomplishments if anything he wasn't firey enough Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon- Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash - Walk The Line dual effort but the complexity of their budding relationship was clear and captured two music legends as humans especially in reaction to Johnny's addiction Gary Cooper - Lou Gherig- Pride of the Yankees Golden age of Hollywood censored hays code stuff but the baseball scenes are incredibly advanced and also for its day captured lou gherig better than later less restricted attempts David Strathihan - Edward R Murrow- Good Night and Good Luck. Low key but captured both Murrow's fantasy of an ideal educational television medium and his cynicism and disappointment at its reality Meryl Streep - Julia Child - Julie and Julia while it was only half the film the idea to use the actual memoir of Julia Child to bracket an otherwise forgettable rom com was a genius stroke and played to the hilt right down to Julia's distinctive speech pattern, awkward posture and cumbersome height.
@@AndyHouse-v1m you literally have no proof to prove Candice is a alt account of some one else on a public channel. Sad that you like your own comment and lie about others.
This was a very dramatic list of performances and portrayals. It didn't really touch on other performances that were attached to different genres of movies. Like Kurt Russell's portrayal of Wyatt Earp in Tombstone. Or Johnnie Depp in Public Enemy, Black Mass, and Donnie Brasco. Westerns and crime dramas can be historically accurate as well. The title of this list should have Top 10 Historically Accurate Oscar Bait Movies.
The actors in this list may be Top Class in their professions; But I'm not a fan of any of these movies due having absolutely no interest in watching said movie; regardless of content.
11:48 it's EXTREMELY OVERRATED...is not that big of an actor but some kind of schizophrenia that he also uses to get away from mistreatment people The "method acting" is being used to justify being a jerk TOO MANY TIMES

You’re right but I’ve never heard anyone claim he’s not 😂
Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth II in “The Queen” should not be overlooked. 🏆
agreed. Her performance was magnificent
Jamie Foxx won an Oscar for “Best Actor” in 2005.
The music legend Ray Charles Robinson is already proud of Mr. Foxx, and may he rest in peace…

Daniel Day-Lewis was amazing as Lincoln
No. It was the make up.
@@justaregularguyb6258no it was the acting.

Some actors actually look like the real person
Some actors can simply copy the person’s speech mannerisms

Not including Gary Oldman as Winston Churchill in Darkest hour is a crime and also Will Smith as Muhammad Ali
There are few things we’ve learned about ‘Raging Bull’ directed by Martin Scorsese:

- Domestic violence.
‘Raging Bull’ is still one of my top 5 favorite Martin Scorsese movies of all time.
The real Jake LaMotta, may he rest in peace.
Sean Penn did a wonderful job playing Harvey Milk.
‘Milk’ is still one of the best LGBTQ+ films ever made.
Now three-time Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis did a terrific job playing the 16th President of the United States.
Bruno Ganz in Downfall was for sure top 5
Denzel Washington played the role of Malcolm X so well people thought stock footage of the real X was imitating Denzel
It was well done
This video needed some honorable mentions - you can’t leave out Gary Oldman as Winston Churchill in The Darkest Hour, Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth II in The Queen, Will Smith as Muhammad Ali in Ali….and I would dare adding Rami Malek as Freddy Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody as well.
Such great performances! I also love that the great majority of these people won Oscars for their portrayals
Will smith as Ali should’ve made this list
Where the hell is Bruno Ganz from Downfall?
‘Malcolm X’ became one of my top 3 favorite Spike Lee movies.
Wait wait which one of them are you talking about they kind of look the same are you talking about Denzel Washington Samuel L Jackson Will Smith Martin Lawrence or someone else Maybe Martin Luther King😂
There is also Chaderwick Boseman as Jackie Robinson.
I liked his performance as James Brown more
Excuse me but where is Bruno Ganz as Adolf Hitler? One of the greatest performances of all time!
They know just for Hollywood movies
@thebobanpevac Yeah
Dont say his name
@lucasfig2002 Really, is that so bad to say his name he is not Voldemort

Lol don't think so since it was a fictional version BUT your right in theory of all the portrayals of teddy this may be the best lol
WatchMojo, what about Will Smith as Muhammad Ali?
Daniel Day-Lewis had an incredible performance as Abraham Lincoln!
Liam Neeson turned down the role, but he could have been good in it too. (In the next Civil War movie they should give him a cameo as Honest Abe...)
George C. Scott's portrayal as Lt. General George S. "Blood and Guts" Patton for the 1970 film Patton should've been on this list.
Denzel Washington did an excellent job in Malcom X

A number of people from Apollo 13 but number one is probably Ed Harris as Gene Kranz

get on up chadwick boseman
Dulce Sloan would be great as Neil Carter in a movie with either Jenny Slate or Sarah Sherman as Fran Drescher.

Ed Harris in THE RIGHT STUFF .
impressive list... of men.
Peter O'Toole did a better job of playing T.E. Lawrence than the original Lawrence did! (He looked a bit silly in Arab clothes...)
Cillian Murphy should be higher on the list. A lot higher.
Sarah Sherman would be great as Joan Rivers in a film.
Gary Cooper in 'Pride of the Yankees. '
