Hello Stacey!. I am so glad to see this variation of Garlic Ketchup Shrimp. My grandmother made a similar version but with vinegar and without the cornstarch. This dish really brings back memories of my late grandmother. I love it!

The only way to eat shrimp or a burger with ketchup is to mix the ketchup with prepared horse radish with it, 2 parts ketchup to t part horse radish ( not rhe creamy horse radish sauce, use the grated in a jar) it is almost like cocktail sauce

Besides broccoli or green pepper, asparagus would be a good addition.
I always get jumbo shirmp. Any other size is a no. They shrink into mini size, if not Jumbo.

I don't understand this 1/16 of a tsp of salt. It's way, way too small a volume to make any difference, surely!?

I would think you could leave the sugar out if you think it’s too much. Everyone has different tastes.
