    Hey Mike,
Strap an Alaskan Sawmill to that 880 and start milling those saw logs you've put back. That will get you into saw milling on the cheap.

I put this video on thinking you were going to put this beast to work on some downed oak. But no.... you took out a tape measure, told your mrs what to do, spotted another oak, but no chainsaw action. Next time, just tell us you're not going to operating this thing, just give us a tour of your property, ... just saying. Oh yeah.... next video we see this thing work.

Hi Mike, love the channel,my family were in the timber import business from the late 18 hundreds here in the UK. There were lots of enormous Elm and Oak trees until the Dutch elm disease killed several milions of trees.Around 1950 my father built a saw with a six foot blade powered by a 350cc New imperial motor bike engine and he fabricated everything by hand even the bar and sprockets and had to join two blades as there were no blades long enough to suit.We used it for several years cutting fallen trees but it could only be used in the vertical as it was a four stroke engine then it was black powder to split the sections as there was no handling machinery such as you use and it was all down to muscle power .

Nice saw. I used to heli log in British Columbia for 13 years and we used to rip logs up to 9 foot diameter using old 088s or 090s,sometimes Husky 3120s. We would use 6 foot bars but you could get up to 8 foot bars if needed. I personally have an old 066 that just motors through wood like crazy. Greetings from BC 😎

880 with a 5ft bar is my everyday milling saw primarily - and gets taken off the mill for the odd felling job - Mill a few sticks into 55" width natural edged slabs and the saws price becomes very bearable compared to band Mills ( that can't fell a tree).
yes heavy and ungainly -- but it excells in its niche.

So, my wife loves to watch big "monster" trucks pull up when we go shopping. The 1st time she did this with me while sitting in our "regular" truck, I didn't know what to make of it... She carefully watches who gets out, and sure as heck, we see this mediocre guy with a big ol attitude, get out with another dude. Both of them strutting around making a scene. You know what I mean? So I look at her and I say, Honey, should I be jealous or something? She turned to me and said, "Hell no! You see that attitude goes right along with that truck! He's trying to make up for his inadequacies... especially from down below the belt! Honey, you ought to be proud of yourself, but your humble... he's a lioser!" I never laughed so hard... neither could I escape from realizing the huge compliment my wife had just given me! Now, I'm a guy, and I have to admit, I like my toys... but that definitely changed the way I thought about them...! And that chainsaw definitely reminds me of those monsters! LOL! I Would probably only get one if having one was a necessity! (But, from one guy to another, it IS cool!) LOL! 😆 🤣

I was climbing a tall eucalyptus tree and the last cut, 20 foot up the trunk, with my spikes in, I needed to exchange my MS 660. 25” bar, for a MS 880 4’ bar.
I cut in a shallow scarf
    From the left side.
Then I had to do the back cut, spiking around either side to span the 6’ diameter.
Only time I’ve ever needed to climb with a Saw larger the a husqvana 394.

Don't get me wrong I need a 3120 or an 880 as much as the next guy, really I do!
But am I missing somthing here? What is the intended job description for the aforementioned 880? I figured you'd be cutting live edge slabs at least 48" or something similar .
For the trees shown I imagine that someone would have a much more pleasurable experience with a saw in the 70-80 cc range if you're a Stihl guy only then 460/461 , for what that saw cost you could've bought a 7910 for each member of your family and had a saw that you'll find a reason to use just because it's a pleasure.
Again not critical I would love to own this saw as well, it was just almost saterical looking as presented. Possibly just intranet saw humor that's over my head.
I would as mentioned love this saw but would have to go with the 3120, primarily based on price.
    Enjoy your saw, stay safe!

Yeah.... I got a magnum 880...... Except mine bar is bigger than yours....People don't always believe how big it is, so every once in a while I whip it out. When I'm going horizontal the sheer weight of it just bends my bar so I have to let the guys with the smaller saws "git 'er started" then I just step in with my Magnum and handle the rest!😎😝

You'll need a 55 gal drum of fuel to feed it too. My 660 turns 13500 & uses fuel faster than any saw I've ever had. Also if you're using a saw that's bar heavy, you'll eventually screw your back up. You're fighting weight & balance.

I couldn't imagine what that thing would be like to start if it was anything like my 420 concrete saw. You would be warn out before you even got going LOL. It was used to cut up the huge live oaks in Hancock County in south Mississippi. It took to men to handle it and a three eighth file to sharpen it I ran it twice; my first and last time. Never saw one like it again

Cross fit!!?? You don't need no cross fit on your property. Just jump over tree stumps and fallen logs...that will get the heart rate up a bit. :)

I went to a Stihl dealer for a new chainsaw. I tried all the saws in the dealer. I couldn't pull start any saws in the dealer. I walked out of the dealer disappointed. Without a second thought, I ordered a Husqvarna 460 Rancher with a 24 inches bar. I received my first Husky. Two pulls I started my first big saw. I cut down few 24 inches diameter trees without issue. Just needed to readjust the carburetor. I tried my brother's Stihl MS362. Useless saw. Hard to start and the stock chain was dull. What good is a saw with a big name but I can't start and use it.

Hey There - out here in the Pacific Northwest that saw is a popsicle stick lol. We have massive trees out here Redwoods Cedars and Ponderosa Pines
Where I do a lot of camping and/or hunting there are trees downed that we cut to get our trucks through or cut for firewood that are well over 7 ft in diameter. You can literally park your truck on one side of the tree and it’s not visible from the other side.
    Now that’s a tree! Lol

That ain't nothin like a motorcycle engine. Not even close. A KTM 125cc SX engine puts out 40 hp. This thing is 121cc and only puts out 8.5 hp. It does sound awesome though. I got a couple of huge Oaks that are too close to the house for my comfort. I'm thinking this thing would make short work of them for sure. Good video.

FYI: Your measuring results are is incorrect. You are reading the the 1/10 of a foot side of the tape, not the inches side. Otherwise nice video :)

880 with 36 to 48 on a sawmill jig and you cut all day long. It not made for many to Hall around all day. It's a mill machine. I have the Chinese knockoff version milling live edge up to 4 feet. The 880 has been on back order for 3 months.

The oiler went out, twice, first was 40.00. Second was like 85.00. No warranty. Stihl dogs suck, bad design, I end up modifying them on the bigger saws. Use my 880 all day sometimes.

This would be perfect for some of the fat cottonwoods we have her in Nebraska. They look nothing like the cottonwoods out west. We had one on the river banks we found were 5 people linked hand in hand could barely get around. The wood is soft though and double cutting isn’t and issue.

Mike, Tim the tool man Taylor would love that saw. Did it jump in you hane when you revved it up? Love the show and I hope the tree does die. It is an old tree and wonder if you can measure the year in doing the measuring? Have fun.
