funnily enough i got Paige as my giftee after she was my secret santa last year!! she made me a super gorgeous red crackle vid, and Paige I can only hope that you'll like my gift to you as much as i liked yours for me!! ;o; your editing is always so creative and unique and innovative and i tried to channel some of that into this edit for you :')
this is like the most zutara ive ever edited, which was fun bc when i first watched a:tla a few years ago i meant to edit them and then ...didn't really do that. when i saw you liked daughter I just immediately thought of this song (which is one of my fave songs ever and i'm obsessed with) and like, it fits zutara SO WELL that i had to look it up bc i could've sworn someone already edited this vid ??? but I didn't find anything so this was born hahaha.
(also, aside - i previously edited with this song to a certain other, infamous red/blue ship for a friend that i had a horrible falling out with so. it was a bit healing in a way to attach this song to something else lol)

ABSOLUTELY SOBBING. This video is PERFECT, holy crap. I have ALWAYS loved this song for them but never got around to editing it for them, and I'm SO THANKFUL that I didn't! Your TIMING, your TYPOGRAPHY, the OVERLAYS, it's amazing!!! I literally audibly gasped, when the "electricity" part came on, and started the whole video back over, STUNNING use of an overlay there. Ok and now I'm going to talk about scene selection for 17 years.

Just stumbled across this this was posted 2 months ago so I hope I’m not too late to the party lol 😭 but after watching a few of the other ones I gotta say I really love how simple your editing style is. I’m not trying to say that editors who use a lot of effects in their works are bad, they’re great too but sometimes I prefer the simpler edits with a lot overlays and fancy effects and transitions. They just hit differently for me. Sometimes less is more powerful yk? I was feeling quite insecure about my editing skills before coming across this channel but editors like you give me inspiration and made me realize that my edits don’t have to look all fancy and advanced to be “good.” ☺️

Willow, this is incredible 😭😭😭 Your scene selection is brilliant, as is the way you use element-type overlays. I love the parallels with the fighting sequences at the beginning, and then 0:09 and 0:29 had me shook 😭 Your typography is top notch and effective too as always ❤️
