I just commented on your Spider-Man omnibus vol. 3 saying how much I was impressed with the quality of stories. Of how readable it was. Of how great the art is. Unfortunately I can’t say that here. I have this book strictly as a Spider-Man completist. I’m really not a fan of McFarlan’s art. And the stories are only so-so. Maybe if I enjoyed the art more I’d be more hooked by the stories, but that art! Ugh! It’s just odd. I know he’s considered a master of the craft, but it’s just not for me.
Although I am a McFarlane fan and enjoy his work here, his style is certainly unique and distinctive enough that I can understand why not everyone would like it, we can't all like everything after all!
Great overview of the Omnibus. Alex Saviuk did a lot of work on Web of Spider-man, he's a fairly under-rated artist imo.
