Another great video! Thanks Omar! This one is a definite buy although not thrilled on the binding. Oh well seen worse. 😀. I think the lighting looked great!! Only constructive comment is if you can position the camera over the book so that we are looking directly down at the book. Don’t know if this is possible but have seen it done on other videos. A must buy for me. I don't know if it's just the lighting but when you where comparing splash pages when Peter hits kingpin they both look a bit more red in the omnibus then the ohc.
There is a slot on the shelf all ready for it to fill. Real Quality first look and the NEW lighting is spot on. As for the spine it's perfect when compared to a DC omni. 👍Back in Black for me.👍

@@JohnDeFoor yes. That would be great. Gathering of Five/Final chapter is true end to Clone Saga and it would be great to see it in Ommibus. Together with Identity Crisis/Spider-Hunt.
Thanks for this overview Omar. I will be buying it. The OMD storyline will be interesting to me as I have never read it so I don't have the 'emotional or nostalgic attachment to this era of ASM even though Peter Parker Spidey is my favourite character. This omni will complement my JMS vol. 1 Omni and bridge the gap to my Brand New Day trades. Great work as usual mate. 😁
@Zarius I can't endorse something I hadn't read. A lot of people got very antsy about the story. I'll reserve judgement until I actually read it. Questioning someone's respect for a character just because they read a particular 'controversial' story is a bit much however.
Glad I checked and saw those two Back in Black HCs weren't in the omni cuz I just bought both new for $38 on ebay. Practically a steal compared to how expensive vol 1 alone is.
The flat spine doesn’t bother me if the book holds together and I get to read it haha Thanks for going over everything, I’m really looking forward to this book. I wish they’d do a reprint of that civil war Spidey OHC though 🤞
Bromar, I love you for talking to David about the spine! I hated the flat spine! Still buying the books though! I own every Spiderman Omni, (except Byrne and I keep trying to talk myself into it). Anyways, pumped about this!
Glad to hear these flat spines are not the new trend going forward. I personally would rather just wait on the omnis until they had their usual printer(s) available, but I guess it's good that they want to keep these books coming. Certainly not a deal-breaker for me, but I know it will be a problem for my collector OCD.
I love that Black cover. I don’t love the other two covers but I really dislike the standard market cover. Volume 1 is amping my top ten omnibuses of all time. Truly great stories. I don’t love vol. 2. In fact I don’t love it so much I’m only half way thru. I really need to give it a chance and read it thru.
Obviously I love a spidey book and being a fan it's a must have in a way but I always do debate my purchases as I do have the comics and the price therefore comes into play a little. What I mean is some people get early omnibus volumes as it makes sense to get asm vol 1 and 2 etc because individual issues are quite a cost to a collector plus you dont mind a book even at over 100 notes. So later volumes are a luxury when you think that way. That being said yeah one more day is divided in opinion and I didnt like it but there is quality here in back in black amongst others so it's a class read. Loved the vid and thanks.
Planning on getting the 'Back in Black' cover for this one if I can. I will probably end my reading right before 'One More Day', as I see it as a tumor that has forever tainted Spider-Man as a character. Note that I do fully admit that there have been good stories that came out of it despite the status quot reset (Superior Spider-Man probably being the best, which doesn't even star Peter), but until they resolve it, I don't feel like the character can ever fully recover. On a unrelated omnibus buying note, you wouldn't happen to have any idea if there was a delay on the Daredevil by Bendis Omnibus 2 reprint, would you? It's marked as coming out tomorrow on Amazon, but it never showed up on the direct market sites for order two weeks ago like books normally would. I really don't want to miss it since I have omni 1, both Brubaker omnis, and Shadowland omni waiting to do a mass read of that era of Daredevil.
Great overview. It’s the black suit variant for me. Can’t wait for this one. But any new Spidey omnibus day is Christmas Day. Merry Christmas Spidey fans!

This is the same universe as the New Avengers By Brian Michael Bendis right? Is this something you would recommend to someone who wants to read good Spider-Man stories?
Omar a question; is the book readable as one continuing story? Or are there parts missing, as you pointed out, there are issues in the 'Back in Black' HC that arent printed in this book. That's sometimes a problem with writer centered omni's, it leaves story gaps (like the Byrne one). Regretfully, the temporary Malaysian printers Marvel uses nowadays are bothering me, the binding is just too tight.
Those parts aren't necessary to enjoy this at all. The crossover is really The Other and One More Day and all of that is in here. The other stuff was just stories from the other Spidey titles.
This go's up to a brand new day, is that available in 1 complete HC or are we waiting of more omnibuses? I cant believe they take years to update the complete history of ASM in HC or Omnibus
Is there any news on Diamond shipping these variant versions? It’s not on these new Diamond shipping lists and I’m worried! I just don’t want to get the standard cover
I don't think there will be one. I think this is the printing that will come out and that's it. As this is the reprint of a book that's been OOP for a decade.
Lots of great art and seemingly more talking than fighting, I want to read it. Spider-Man was what got me interested in superheroes again for the first time since my childhood by watching Sam Raimi's Spider-Man and especially Spider-Man 2, which I still think is the best superhero movie of all time. However for the next several years I just watched the movies and read a few selected comics like The Books of Magic, Sin City, The Dark Knight Returns, Arkham Asylum and Wolverine: Origin, and I even had a chance to use Sin City, The Dark Knight Returns and Wolverine: Origin during a two-year teaching project at a private high school, where I taught Swedish lit and world lit. Watching the Smallville TV show a year ago made me interested in reading more comics and especially Supes and I look forward to getting back to the character that stirred my interest in the first place, Spidey. I'm also eagerly waiting for the beautiful Spidey/Mary Jane statue from Sideshow based on the art by the magnificent J. Scott Campbell.
Got this one ordered. Never read the JMS run though I have of course heard about One More Day, look forward to reading it to form my own opinion, although I rarely like retcons. We'll see.
@@goldenstatewarriors9418 i barely agree, but in my opinion is: 1 - stan lee 2 - conway 3 - roger stern 4 - J. M. Straczynski and Tom DeFalco 5 - Marv Wolfman 6 - J. M. DeMatteis 7 - Len Wein 8 - David Micheline 9 - Dan Slott
@@caiquefarias5467 Okay, so I finally got around to reading it. My dislike of retcons remains strong. JMS's writing was heartbreaking and Joe Q's art is of course beautiful and I understand the need to open up story possibilities, that said, I hate it. 20 + years of being invested in Pete and MJ just to do away with their marriage by hitting the reset button? Hate it. Call me a romantic at heart, it's true, but I love Pete and MJ together. Hell, I still want the Vision and Wanda back together. Anyway, I'm not complaining about the story or art, I just don't like that they did that to us. Btw, if Nick Spencer follows thru and puts Pete and MJ back together again, I'll choose to overlook that "hail hydra". Haven't read his Spidey run. Have you? How do you think he's doing?
Are the stories in this better than vol one? I want to collect a Spiderman run by the same writter and I don't mind waiting for a reprint of vol 1 or do you recommend I wait for the Dan Slott stuff?
Kinda late to the party.... But is back in black complete in this omnibus? And is there a cheaper option to read that? (Besides the OOP tpb/hardcovers).
I would rather have the couple OHC (Back in black, civil war, other, etc) than just one massive book but the omnibus is so much more affordable. Omar, do you think those OHC will get cheaper ?
Nice. I've had this pre-ordered since the beginning of the month. The bookseller sent a notice that their release date was pushed back to April though. I just hope they remember to send on shipping day since my my source has been notorious of late for not shipping when promised and running out of stock without covering advance orders. Just one question regarding the portions of Back in Black and Civil War not included. Are the parts that are included readable without the rest of the missing parts or will I need to find the entire stories to those events? I'm not mad about the spine and just hope this leads to more omnis from current Spidey. Been Wanting to get Braintrust and Slott stuff in Complete Collections but a big portion is no longer available in the Complete format. Marvel seems to let that particular format sell out and don't do any kind of restock.
Oy I see some books being pushed back. I think it depends on where it was printed. Lord. I would love a Brand New Day omnis and then moving into Big Time.
For someone who hasn’t read Spidey around this era, would you recommend to seek out the issues left out of this omni (e.g. Back In Black & Civil War) and read them interspersed with the omni? Or were those stories of lesser quality and not worth the effort?
Taylor, we are using an Aputure LS-C120d II (www.amazon.com/dp/B07FYBL7P8/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_qX-vEb73C4YVG?tag=nearmintcon-20) as our main (key) light. It’s a super-bright single-chip LED light with a mini dome for diffusion and a reflector to fill in some shadows. Then we have an Aputure Amaran F7 (www.amazon.com/Aputure-Bi-Color-Dimmable-perature-3200-9500K/dp/B07X3GZRXD?tag=nearmintcon-20) in the back to fill in some more shadows.
Hey Omar just wanted to know what’s a good jumping off point to get into doctor strange? I’ve always wanted to get into it but wasn’t really sure where to start! Thanks a bunch!
There is a certain story I always push on people and it's collected in this Epic Triumph and Toment.: www.amazon.com/Doctor-Strange-Epic-Collection-Triumph/dp/1302920561//?tag=nearmintcon-20
This lighting is better. The old lighting was too warm, this is cooler. Have you thought about putting your phone/camera directly over the book so it's square? I do that on my videos because rectangular book, rectangular video... just matches better than having a trapezoid shaped book in a rectangular video.
What Would you recommend, omnis or tpb? If I wanna get the full story which one would be better. I have heard omnis can be missing issues or are writer centric. As a completist that kills me
I love omnis. Most are done with everythign included. There are some like Frank Miller Marvel Universe, John Byrne Marvel Universe and the Rob Liefeld Marvel Omnibus that are artist centric.
I know this is an old vid guys so apologies. I'm itching it get a Spidey Omni but not sure what to get. Been looking at adjective less Spiderman Omni by McFarlane. Been looking at spider-man's tangled web Omni and a few other bits like that. Since vol 1 of this run is getting a reprint it makes sense to jump on here surely? Any advice welcome guys. Cheers
Omar do you know when we can order this omnibus? Also do you know of we will ever get a reprint of volume 1? I never got to purchase it, same with the avengers omnibus run by Hickman
A great review of a beautiful book. The fact that it`s hand-drawn Deodato makes it more special. The inclusion of Weringo and Quesada makes it even more special. You can be forgiven for the pronunciation of Deodato`s name can be forgiven, they speak Portuguese in Brazil, not Spanish. Try the correct pronunciation of Ivan Reis. Now that`s tricky.
I've ordered like 6-7 omnibus in the last 2 weeks. I should not be watching more omni overviews but here I am.
Hahahahaha... I'm sorry.
And I ordered 20 Omnis in last three weeks, of which 3 didn't arrived, but then again I had only 5 Omnis before.
Man I loved what JMS did with Spider-Man so much. I'll never forgive Marvel for making him undo everything he had worked so hard to achieve with him
His run is seriously some of the best and some of the worst.
Bold choice using art from One More Day on the cover. The art itself is wonderful; it is just that story arc.

Does anyone know if the back in black version has the flat spine?
This go's up to a brand new day, is that available in 1 complete HC or are we waiting of more omnibuses? I cant believe they take years to update the complete history of ASM in HC or Omnibus
Brand new day is collected in tpb and standard editions. No big editions. Yet.
Is there any news on Diamond shipping these variant versions? It’s not on these new Diamond shipping lists and I’m worried! I just don’t want to get the standard cover
I’ll have a full list from Marvel i hope sometime this week.
Now if only they could reprint ASM omnis 2 and 3 my I'd die a happy man
Don't say that. You got a long time to live.
When can we know when the round spine printing of Wolverine omnibus will be out?
This is a great run that I recommend to new readers. So glad you got to use those books during your teachings. I lkove taking comics to classrooms.
Got this one ordered. Never read the JMS run though I have of course heard about One More Day, look forward to reading it to form my own opinion, although I rarely like retcons. We'll see.
Oh let me know what you think.
did you alredy read it? if you did, what is your opinion?
JMS has the third best ASM run, only behind Roger Stern's and Stan Lee's.
@@goldenstatewarriors9418 i barely agree, but in my opinion is:
1 - stan lee
2 - conway
3 - roger stern
4 - J. M. Straczynski and Tom DeFalco
5 - Marv Wolfman
6 - J. M. DeMatteis
7 - Len Wein
8 - David Micheline
9 - Dan Slott
@@caiquefarias5467
Okay, so I finally got around to reading it.
Did they ever fix the flat spines or is it like that in all of them on STRACZYNSKI Vol 2?? I still need to grab this Omni!
The new printings aren’t flat.
Are the stories in this better than vol one? I want to collect a Spiderman run by the same writter and I don't mind waiting for a reprint of vol 1 or do you recommend I wait for the Dan Slott stuff?
I'm a huge fan of this Spidey omnibus. I say wait for a reprint.
Kinda late to the party.... But is back in black complete in this omnibus? And is there a cheaper option to read that? (Besides the OOP tpb/hardcovers).
It just has the Amazing issues not Friendly or Sensational or Peter Parker.
I would rather have the couple OHC (Back in black, civil war, other, etc) than just one massive book but the omnibus is so much more affordable. Omar, do you think those OHC will get cheaper ?
I don't think sadly that they've ever reprinted OHCs.
Where are the rest of the Bendis Ultimate Spider-Man Omnibus? We only got volume 1, they should finish the run, that's a legendary spiderman run
Sadly at the time it didn't sell well. Maybe these days it would.
@@NearMintCondition damn same probably for new avengers also?
I don’t mind the flat spine as long as it does not cause dmg down the line. I am getting both of these books awesome
So far so good on mine.
Near Mint Condition thank you 🙏 for the feedback
Does that mean we ll get a different printing of this in the months to come? Just finished vol 1.need this
I believe its still out at CGN.
For someone who hasn’t read Spidey around this era, would you recommend to seek out the issues left out of this omni (e.g. Back In Black & Civil War) and read them interspersed with the omni? Or were those stories of lesser quality and not worth the effort?
It doesn't add anything to read those issues. Only the crossover issues and they are included in the omnibus.
The Omnibus are generally released first in Instocktrades / CheapGraphicNovels and then after on Amazon ?
Always. Then a couple of weeks later at Amazon.
So I like the new spines... but 1:52 is a bit weird looking next to eachother. Is it just me or?
It's not just you.
Is vol 2 really thicker or just appears so because of the flat spine?
Hmm this looks great, art etc. I haven't read vol 1...would vol 2 be good to read without reading the 1st vol
You can, but I strongly recommend reading volume 1.
What’s your new lighting set up like? If you don’t mind...
Did this book get a new release date? I have been looking for it since March 18th on IST and it doesn’t appear as being available to purchase.
It did. Looks like it is now April 1st. At least that's what the latest Diamond preview shows.
Someone posted images from this book online showing that the image on the top of certain pages was cropped. Is this the case?
Hey Omar just wanted to know what’s a good jumping off point to get into doctor strange? I’ve always wanted to get into it but wasn’t really sure where to start! Thanks a bunch!
There is a certain story I always push on people and it's collected in this Epic Triumph and Toment.:

Near Mint Condition awesome! I’ll def check it out! Thanks! 🤙
This lighting is better. The old lighting was too warm, this is cooler. Have you thought about putting your phone/camera directly over the book so it's square? I do that on my videos because rectangular book, rectangular video... just matches better than having a trapezoid shaped book in a rectangular video.
I just saw a couple of your videos. and I may try that, brother. Thank you.
@@NearMintCondition No problem!
Cheers
Doesn't matter I got it anyway in anticipation for vol 1 reprint
Omar do you know when we can order this omnibus? Also do you know of we will ever get a reprint of volume 1? I never got to purchase it, same with the avengers omnibus run by Hickman
It should be coming from Diamond on by middle to end of May.
@@NearMintCondition thank you always answering questions. Great work and keep up the videos 💪👍
The last true Spider-Man Run 😔
But but... Brand New Day. ;) Took me a while to get back into Spidey.
hey omar, can i start on vol.2 omnibus before vol. 1?
I strongly suggest waiting on a restock of volume 1. It's worth it.
Just curious what is the new status quo in current Amazing Spider-Man comics?
*SPOILERS* The marriage is over. So he is younger and single again and his webbing isn't organic.
@@NearMintCondition Well he's not single, considering he planned to propose...
Reyes? :)
@@NearMintCondition Nope. More like Evon Heis. He will answer to Ivan Reyes even though it`s not correct.
Man it's such a shame that volume 1 might be out of print. Can't find it anywhere where it isn't expensive as Hell
Trying to see if I can get Marvel to restock it.
@@NearMintCondition Thank you!!! Receiving volume 2 tomorrow but can't read it until I've got volume 1, sob.
@@JennySparkz Same here just hoping with his anniversary coming up perhaps we get a reprint of vol 1 next year.
