It's amazing how he can sing perfectly at least an entire octave higher than his normal speaking voice!!
he's a "low talker" as one of my vocal instructors called it, meaning he regularly speaks at the very bottom of his vocal range.
you can tell he's a tenor from how bright his voice sounds even when he's down in that range (a baritone or bass would sound much fuller and deeper than he sounds). He's actually singing most of this song at pretty standard tenor middle voice ranges, that's why it sounds so easy for him, because it IS easy for him.
The reason you think it's so much higher than it actually is is because he's adding in a LOT of nasality to massively brighten the tone (like how a flute and a bass playing the same note would sound MASSIVELY different even though it's the same note) because, obviously, he's singing as the character Steve Smith and not as himself.

I LOVE IT when voice actors embrace their roles enough to entertain like this. There's something so hilarious about seeing a grown man with Steve's voice, its super uncanny and he even plays the whole performance straight.
Not gonna lie though, if Steve grows up to look like his voice actor, he's gonna do well.
Just like Lahey if you've ever watched trailer park boys. That man absolutely loved his character with all his heart and loved making fans happy. If you recognized him, he'd happily snap into character for you and take some pictures (from reports of fans who have met him on the subreddit). Really wish I could've met him before he bit the dust. Man was a great actor, hands down the best drunk on TV and he wasn't even a drinker
