- JFRD responded to a large broken gas line that had been intertwined with a tree root system. Workers were trying to remove the tree stump not realizing the root ball had a hold on the gas line. This was a large diameter line and the hazmat team had to dig dig dig so they could clamp off the gas to stop the leak.
It was a hot day and crews had to work through the heat...there were no reported injuries to this fire.

Thanks! Keep it up
Your team goes above and beyond!!
Yes they do!
It's quite possible that the natural gas company evaluated the situation first and called JFRD for assistance. Seeing as how there is huge risk involved, the gas company opted to call people highly trained in chemicals, gases, fire, explosions and rescue, etc....
that is not how it goes here...
Never a dull moment as fire rescue.
Never
Keep up the good work & keep the videos comin 🚒🔥🪓🧑🏻🚒
Thanks...will do
Wait wait...idea coming!
Maybe at the end of the video, do a quick walk around to show which units were on scene.
thanks for your input
was there no shut off valve nearby to isolate the area? and i am surprise that the gas main was under such a large tree it appears when they went to remove the stump and roots of the tree they had grown around the gas line and caused it to break when the mini excavator tried to remove the remains of the tree but man digging by hand in full gear especially in the heat is brutal work i remember having to do it on a dump truck roll over full of dirt when i was on they could not get equipment on the side that had all the dirt so we shoveled it so the could right the truck we were not packed up but still had gear on and that was brutal in itself i definitely feel for you guys
No shut off near...we regularly have to dig and work in the extreme heat.
Good Job, JFRD!!
Thank you
