    One night a few weeks ago the guys asked Nikola what he enjoyed most; scoring, rebounding, or assists. He said assists, because it makes two people happy. That answer tells you a lot about him.

      Before Murray got injured he had star potential himself. I seem to recall Murray getting an All-Star nod at some point recently, though I could be wrong. Just this year along Murray is at 20PPG with a plus/minus of 5.2
      Gordon;
      17PPG on 59% FG% with 40% from 3,
      7 REB and 3AST with a plus/minus of 8.7
      Jokic (53 GP)
      25PPG on 63% FG% with 40% from 3,
      11 REB and 10AST with a plus/minus of 9.9
      Then there’s Pope and Michael Porter Jr. Shooting over 40% from 3 with a plus/minus of 7.6 each. 2 other players above 10PPG.
      ______________________________________
      Embiid has Tobias Harris, Maxey and James Harden.
      Embiid (47 GP);
      33PPG on 53% FG% with 34% from 3,
      10.5REB, 4AST with a plus/minus 6.7
      Harden;
      26PPG on 45% FG% with 40% from 3,
      6REB and 11AST with a plus/minus 5
      Harris;
      15.5PPG on 50% FG% with 38% from 3,
      6REB and 2.5AST with a plus/minus 4.2
      Maxey;
      19PPG on 45% FG% with 38% from 3,
      3REB, 3.5AST with a plus/minus 3.3
      ______________________________________
      Giannis has Jrue Holiday and Middleton
      Giannis (48 GP);
      31PPG on 54% FG% with 27% from 3(bad),
      12REB, 5.5AST with a plus/minus 5.1
      Jrue;
      19.5PPG on 46.5FG% with 38% from 3,
      5AST, 7REB with a plus/minus 6.2
      Middleton (injured this season, so 18 games);
      13.5PPG on 43% FG% with 30% from 3,
      4REB, 4AST with a plus/minus 4.8
      Portis and Lopez each pour in close to 15PPG on 50% FG%, Portis has a respectable 10REB and Lopez has 6.5REB, both less than 2AST, plus/minus Lopez 3.6 with Bobby 0.8
      The narrative that Jokic has nobody needs to stop, as Jokic arguably has more help and better depth on his team than both Embiid and Giannis, both of whom over much higher calibre defence.
      The main argument for Jokic would be his triple double average while scoring at a historic efficiency rate. Keep in mind Gordon is second of all players listed here with 59% FG%.

      @Xavi Firstly, I never took any credit away from anyone. I said they themselves have been quoted attributing their success to Jokic. But the numbers also back it up. KCP is shooting the best % of his career. So Aaron Gordon's two best years are the two full years playing with Jokic. Jeff Green is playing hyper effecint at age 36 and says it's because of Jokic. Bruce Brown made a significant leap for the first time in 3 years.
      And then Monte Morris, Will Barton, Austin Rivers, and Facu Compazzo who all played in the NBA playoffs with Jokic, have all dropped production significantly without him. And facu is out of the league.
      So the players say it, the stats of every player gets better when they play with him, and worse when they play without him.

They just have a good team where everybody knows and plays their role according to the plan. Jokic has a stacked team. More than half of his success should be attributed to his great teammates. A guard or as a matter of fact, for any player to get an assist many things have to fall in place perfectly. And even if it does, the player might miss the shot.
    To dish out the ball so that it is easier for players to shoot a high percentage shot is the most difficult task of all.
    And with the stat that Ernie said at the end as a mic drop - only 4 players average 10 assists per game.

      Agreed, for assists to get to double digits you need a player with passing/playmaking skill AND an offense that will allow them to do it.
      You need good shooters, smart cutters and a good center doesn't hurt. And you need the ball in your hand.
      Rebounds only require some height/hustle, which might be oversimplifying but that is the easier stat for most players, much easier to luck your way to 10 of them. If you're a guard it helps if you have a bad rebounding center I guess?

      The issue isn't that players are judged based on postseason performance, but the objectivity around it. Everyone in the mainstream media criticizes Jokic's postseason performance especially in comparison to Joel Embiid. Jokic has made it farther than Joel in the playoffs with better numbers and has never played with an all star or all nba teammate like Joel has.
      The refusal to add context around his loss to Portland in 2019 when Murray + Millsap both shot 25% or worse in the 2 closeout games is unacceptable. Ignoring that Jokic and the Nuggets beat the heavily favored Clippers and made it to the CF is unacceptable. Ignoring that Murray missed each of the last 2 postseasons and that Porter missed last postseason is unacceptable.
      Judge players by the same standards. They can't have it both ways. Either acknowledge that Jokic is the best player on the planet which is why they hold him to a higher standard or use an appropriate rating system.
