One night a few weeks ago the guys asked Nikola what he enjoyed most; scoring, rebounding, or assists. He said assists, because it makes two people happy. That answer tells you a lot about him.
Toni Kukoč said the same sentence in late 1989 when he was the king of the Europe with his team from Split, Croatia- Jugoplastika. Obsiously, players from this part of Europe are different then people from other parts of the world.
A lot of people do not appreciate Jokic's game, which is a shame. He just goes out there and puts up great stats. He is a throwback when Centers made an impact on the game.
I would have liked to see how he would do against real centers in the 80's and 90's. Bigger stronger and no calls for flopping when met with any physical resistance. Jokic would only be great in this era.
@@willault9120 there’s some truth to this. He does not play defense so when the opposing team has a dominating big man, that plays both sides of the game, they are screwed.
22-0 when Jokic records a triple-double... That is greatness, not stat-padding! Edit: This had nothing to do with Westbrook, but shout out to the unbelievable 3 year run he had with OKC. Just calling out the folks saying that Jokic stat pads!
Across the whole NBA any player getting a triple double drags the teams win% up by double digits. I think Westbrook's triple doubles generally take his teams up by 15%. It's never stat padding.
Before Murray got injured he had star potential himself. I seem to recall Murray getting an All-Star nod at some point recently, though I could be wrong. The main argument for Jokic would be his triple double average while scoring at a historic efficiency rate. Keep in mind Gordon is second of all players listed here with 59% FG%.
Chuck had the same team as Jokic. He was too great for a team where he played. And he needed a bit of luck, every time. Plus, a really small percentage of people are born with the same determination as MJ had.

When everything is considered no player comes close to Jordan. Not Russell, not Lebron, not Kobe, not Wilt, not Magic and not Shaq.
Jokey is perhaps the most efficient basketball player of all time. He seems to be moving at half speed all the time, yet he dominates just about every game he plays. He is this generation's Larry Bird, but SLOWER. Basketball can't be as easy as he makes it seem. Given his energy output, he could play into his 60's.
dude has all time great playoff numbers, what are you talking about? was jordan not great when he scored 63 on celtics and lost? people seriously don’t understand basketballs a team sport
Please!!! don't bring JOKIC and Larry Bird up in the same sentence. They not even close to each other in terms of skill set or ability. Larry Legend in a different category from Jokic entirely, Jokic not even in the top 10 all time in terms of centers to ever play the game. what's next Jokic is close to Michael Jordan. @@ReverendSam1 yeah and that's what they were discussing in the video. No matter how great Jokic is, he will always be judged by the playoffs even though it's a team game. Nobody can win games alone on the court and individual players get judged by the entire team's performance.
I've been an avid basketball fan for almost half a century now. I watched Charles Barkley playing against Yugoslavia in 1983 and I loved him ever since. He was a phenomenal player despite being a bit chubby and so is Jokic. Nikola is such an extraordinary player, insanely talented and unique. He is breaking so many records in the NBA and literally changing the game of basketball with his style of playing.
The best part about Jokic's triple doubles is that they dont just sound cool, these are not empty stats, his team WINS when he gets these triple doubles. That's the most important part.
A lot of them come in big wins where he exits after 30-32 minutes as well, it's not like he even stays in chasing them or anything, just plays as long as it takes to get the W secured and checks out. It sure isn't any Ricky Davis chasing the TDub scenario.
@@dime6941 You should watch one full game and count how many of of his "assists" they miss! It goes both ways but when he assist its a "real" assist that gives them lot of time to adjust shot.
@@dime6941 "Shouldn't that also mean his team has really good shooters" Great shooters are only great if their hands get hot during the game and are open most of the time. If joker would have no good shooters in his team he would simply score more like it was last year, when his 2 great shooters were injured and him avg 27+ points with only 7-8 assists. Now you have joker with only 22 points, but he is not getting THAT tired anymore. + His in court IQ makes his shooters simply better by giving ball to open players, theres a reason why his games dont seem to be forced - like getting fouls or diving every single time to the basket. His assists are simply special, because he makes his shooters focused with his unselfish plays and if you are open, theres a high chance of you getting the ball. For example austin reaves in lakers at the begining was not getting ball at all and most stars there were playing pretty selfish ball.
@@dime6941 Every year they say what? Say what again. Considering injuries, nobody expected nuggets to reach play-in, but they ended in 6th seed and lost to the full healthy nba champions in the first round. It is unbelievable what you are saying.
Jokic deserves the MVP this year, he's literally averaging an triple double and is on the best team in the west and possibly the NBA, I know people want embid to get it because he's averaging like 33.3 points a game but jokic isn't just scoring he does it all. He deserves the 3rd consecutive MVP, he's proving to the world that he is the most valued player in the NBA for three straight years. Denver needs to win a championship finally. It's gotta happen this year
I think he deserves it this year, but I also think he shouldn't get 3 in a row cause he doesn't have close to the post season success the other 3 3 in a row winners had. Can't change how things have been for one player cause it distorts how accomplishments are viewed in NBA imo
@@gumballwaterson1957 many players have been MVPs and they didn’t put historical numbers, breaking historical records etc. Jokic is. It doesn’t matter who was 3 MVP in a row. He deserves it period. He is the 22/23 Most Valuable Player so he has to win it. Regardless of narratives and Past History / Seasons
he does not deserve MVP this season. He not the best player in the league. With this your logic lets go back and give chris paul some MVP trophies for years past. Just like chris paul was not the best player and never won MVP , the same logic should hold. the year Russ got MVP he was scoring 30 plus a game with a triple double and dominate on both defense and offense. The other years Russ had a triple double he did not get MVP. he simply was not the best player in the League. Jokic is an all star level player like a Mitch Richmond , and Jokic is a future hall of famer. He just is not the best player in the game. Never has been the best player just like Mitch richmond or Chris paul. All star good enough. its not disrespect at all .
@@gumballwaterson1957 Lebron won his 3rd mvp before winning a chip. Then he won his first chip that season. Who says Jokic won't do the same. Plus Lebron played with 2 hall of famers then (Bosh and Wade). Jokic has no team mate with 1 all star game even.
A lot of the players on the nuggets are also playing quite well. Gordon is 2nd in the league in dunks. KCP is 2nd in the league in 3 pt percentage. Jokic is a big part of that. I mean look at Jeff Green these last two games.
@@GTNover Maybe they set up Jokic to make those passes? Jokic is just playing his role better than average. Give Gordon, KCP, MPJ and Murray their credits.
@Xavi Firstly, I never took any credit away from anyone. I said they themselves have been quoted attributing their success to Jokic. But the numbers also back it up. KCP is shooting the best % of his career. So Aaron Gordon's two best years are the two full years playing with Jokic. Jeff Green is playing hyper effecint at age 36 and says it's because of Jokic. Bruce Brown made a significant leap for the first time in 3 years. And then Monte Morris, Will Barton, Austin Rivers, and Facu Compazzo who all played in the NBA playoffs with Jokic, have all dropped production significantly without him. And facu is out of the league. So the players say it, the stats of every player gets better when they play with him, and worse when they play without him. I think we have enough data to say Jokic is the common denominator.
@@GTNover The fact that these players lack an enabler in other teams they played doesn't prove anything. It is just other teams' problem. AG and KCP are specifically acquired to make Jokic more effective. They are D and 3 players and AG also cuts and dunks in addition. They just have a good team where everybody knows and plays their role according to the plan. Jokic has a stacked team. More than half of his success should be attributed to his great teammates. Even he knows this and says it whenever possible. After winning the MVP last year, he literally said "it wouldn't be possible without my teammates". Jokic perhaps should win the "Most Helped Star" award.

For all those who say, "Jokc isn't an MVP because the Nuggets choke in the playoffs"...the Nuggets played in the Western Conference Finals in 2020. Put the last two years in perspective...in both 2021 & 2022 the Nuggets were minus 40ppg as Murray & MPJ were injured. Also, Jokic has increased his PPG in the playoffs vs regular season EVERY YEAR the Nuggets made it to the post season, a four year span. What more do you want from the guy?
Not to mention MVP is exclusively a regular season award, playoffs have ZERO (0) bearing on the award. The second anyone says the word playoffs when talking about MVP, you immediately ignore anything they say ever again.
Nuggets haven't been healthy the past 2 years plus the other star on that team wasn't playing. Now that they are complete they definitely have a solid chance at reaching the finals.
Not a Denver homer and I remember that. I don't know why the talking heads don't. Hard for any team to win missing 2 of your best players. Jokic definitely maximized his talent and that's all you can ask for. Never have up,, always made his teammates better. Respect
I think the most impressive Stat kinda went under the radar - nuggets won all games where jokic had a triple double. those arent stattpadded triple doubles (looking at you, prime/MVP russ), those are actual contributions.
What...Russ got his okc team that lost durant for no return to the playoffs. Y'all quit talking down on Russ. Give me that guy any day of the week, he plays hard every time he hits the floor and he plays most if not every game.
So, he just made another NBA record, passing Magic Johnson for 25 straight W when he has triple-double. In his team, he is leading in score, assists and rebounds. That is value there for you.
This record is exact definition of stat-padding. If you are winning, go and do the stats, if you are losing, just don't play, ask the coach to take you from the game. Every star can do it if they try hard.
And there are people still dumb to act like Embiid is anywhere close in the MVP conversation. It's Jokic, no one else is on the same planet this year. Giannis is the best player in the world right now, but he's not having the season Jokic is.
@@berryesseen Your comment is exact definition of comments being made when actually not watching his game. Do you know how many times he took a bench when just one assist or one rebound would give him triple-double? More than dozens.

@@claudeedwards7069 unfortunately basketball is a team game. One player no matter how great can carry an entire team. There are a lot of great players that don't get recognized because they weren't lucky enough to be drafted to a super team especially in the earlier days of basketball where people had more team loyalty. That doesn't change the fact that they're incredible individual players.
telling people scoring 50pts is great but putting up 10 reb 10assists on a daily basis to go along with 25pts on 60% + Ts while being the number 1 seed is just wow
He dominates the ball in other ways. The nuggets literally dribble the ball down the court and give it to jokic every possession just about. That's as good as jokic himself bringing the ball up the floor like a lebron does.
He brings the ball up the court most of the game, and the reason why he doesn't do it always is because he is not selfish and plays the game the right way, meaning if someone else has a better position to bring the ball up the court he will easily allow him to do so. But those are basketball details that no NBA show host or analyst has the IQ to comprehend. It's the same thing why he leaves rebound for others.
he has the most touches in the nba so he does "dominate" the ball but he makes the right play dang near every time so he should continue to touch the ball
Seems like people that say he doesn't deserve MVP don't see how he elevates his teammates. The other MVP candidates are all about solo play while Jokic is about the TEAM
I really hope the Nuggets win the championship this year and Jokic averages triple double in the finals and wins finals mvp just so he can shut up the haters like Nick Wright and Skip Bayless.

Much respect to Jokic's game, just brings me back to prime Westbrook, he averaged a triple double for 2 seasons, and like Chuck said, they weren't small triple doubles, he used to explode every other night. Sad to see his scapegoated like that in the Lakers, hope the Clippers are a better fit for this guy
Jokic isn't a liability to his team the way Westbrook is and has been for a few years now. Westbrook's stats are in the 'Starbury'/James Harden category--they looked good on paper but seldom made the team better.
@@atlien1988 true 🙏 Kenny feels small next to Charles and Shaq so he makes stuff up to make himself bigger 😉 Its all fun, we all know when he is full of it 🤗
Might as well giving him MVP every year because he’s going to get you triple double. He’s not flashy or makes you jump off your seat or dunk on everyone or winning championship but he’s consistently giving you good play night in and night out. Joker is still very young like 28 years old or I’m not sure but he can still has a chances to win championship.
I'm surprised there aren't so many haters in these comments compared to others I have seen before this mostly speaking against Jokic's "boring" playstyle as if he cares to play flashy he is here to win and prove to all the doubters that he is championship material
We love Charles in Serbia not because he loves Jokic, but because he played with attitude, and, now, he speaks with the same kind of attitude and principledness.
When people say that as a guard, you should be able to get double digit assists, that is just scraping the tip of iceberg. A guard or as a matter of fact, for any player to get an assist many things have to fall in place perfectly. And even if it does, the player might miss the shot. To dish out the ball so that it is easier for players to shoot a high percentage shot is the most difficult task of all. And with the stat that Ernie said at the end as a mic drop - only 4 players average 10 assists per game. Rebounds is a hustle stat 70% of the times.
Yea 10 is a bit much haha. I would say any “elite” guard at whatever level they are playing in should be able to get 5/6 assists a game. But it’s more about just controlling the game and making the right decisions. You may have 25 hockey assists but only 2 assists at the end of the game. Stats definitely lie at times.
Nah just a lot of elite guards these days aren't pass first even if they're averaging high assists very few actual pass first PGs in the league which is what's confusing chuck. Elite guards can easily average 10 assists if they look to pass first as much as big men hunt for boards.
I'm glad Chuck said it cause all these other tv ppl don't put the pressure on Jokic. They just praise him. Jokic has to make it to the finals. No excuses. U can't be a back to back mvp with a possible 3rd and not have that expectation
lebron, tatum, durant, have better teams than jokic and no one puts pressure on them, you are just salty that he gonna win the mvp again, also mvp isn't a post season award ignorant lmao.
fear lol they’re playing basketball moron, when anybody in league can actually stop dude from doing whatever he wants get back at me, embid shoots 5 for 26 last night jokic has shot below 50 one time this year but people ‘’fear” embid right lol so stuoid
It's really about just how efficiently the Nuggets score when Jokić is on the floor. Either he's taking the shot, which usually goes in, or another Nugget is taking the shot, which is usually wide open because of Jokić. They just burn clean, high-octane gas on every possession.
Players averaging 10+ rebounds: 13 Players averaging 10+ assists: 4 Plus, none of the 4 players averaging 10+ assists is averaging 11 assists or more, meanwhile 7 of the 13 players averaging 10+ rebounds are averaging 11 or more rebounds and two of those 7 are even averaging 12 or more. I understand that for guys like Trae Young averaging 10+ rebounds would be nearly impossibile, but generally speaking averaging 10+ assists is much more difficult than averaging 10+ rebounds
Agreed, for assists to get to double digits you need a player with passing/playmaking skill AND an offense that will allow them to do it. You need good shooters, smart cutters and a good center doesn't hurt. And you need the ball in your hand. Rebounds only require some height/hustle, which might be oversimplifying but that is the easier stat for most players, much easier to luck your way to 10 of them. If you're a guard it helps if you have a bad rebounding center I guess?
What most of the people fail to understand is that he's a great defender when they need him to be. The thing is he plays for 37 minutes every night, is hugely important and can't risk of getting himself into a foul trouble possition or even try wrestling under the rim against those other big guys, because that way you get hit, exausted and injured really quickly. That's why he hesitates to hustle or even jump, and tries to pass the ball whenever he can.
That's silly what you stated. The Joker is a average to awful defender who in the playofffs they target, just like the Cavs searched him out tonight. He is a great offensive player and an awful to average defensive player. Stating that he is outsmarting other big men defensively is ridiculous.
@nndayo6408 My friend, you're only telling half the story, though. Why don't you talk about his defense, particularly in the fourth quarter when teams Target him? Remember my friend, just two sides to an NBA court, one is on the defensive side for a hint🤣
Jokic ain't no joke he's the real deal. No matter the question could he play in the 90s and 2000 he's here now and that's how they play the game now. Nah his game is not fitted for the All-star game but he's bonafide.
25 straight wins when he gets a triple double and people still just say he stat pads and compare him to russ?? it becomes more apparent that it’s just casuals and sad embiid fans who don’t appreciate jokic

Jokic's greatness isn't captured by the triple double. He will get a lot of those just because of how he's used in the offense. To appreciate how good he is, you have to see how efficiently he plays offense.
The pressure on Jokic will be so immense after his 3rd MVP. The floor for him and Denver this year is a finals appearance and next year it should be a championship. He’s in his 8th season with 2 mvps and only 1 Western conference finals appearance
people said same thing about MJ until he won, it took another top ten player in league for him to get a ring, said same thing about lebron, took another top ten player in league tell he did, said same thing about durant, took another top ten player to win, if jokic teamed up with another top player dude would win, but then you guys would say he’s ring chasing lol fans are dumb

Why doesn't anyone ask the question: If LeBron needed Wade and Bosh to become an NBA champion, maybe it's fair to expect the same from Jokic when Durant and JA (for example) become his teammates.
I agree with everything you said, the only all time great who won a ring without an all star or hall of fame teammate was Hakeem in 1994 (even though Sam Cassell would become an all star in Minnesota years after)
@@srdjanpajic2404 That's why Hakeem's 1994 title is worth a lot. I could make an argument that 1994 title is the most valuable of all time. Jokic's title will also be worth a lot if he wins it with this team (far more than Lebron's 2012 and 2013 rings or Durant's 2017 and 2018 or any of Jabbar's titles...Durant's titles are the only worthless titles in history if you ask me)
@@jasonmoukala8909 Of course they are worthless. His sign with the Warriors is the most cowardly move by an all-time great player in NBA history. And the player who wins without difficulty triumphs without glory.
Unfortunately they will be judged based on the playoffs as they probably should, but even if they don't win a title or fail in the playoffs in any shape of form, it will not prevent me from appreciating the greatness of Jokic and his team this season
The issue isn't that players are judged based on postseason performance, but the objectivity around it. Everyone in the mainstream media criticizes Jokic's postseason performance especially in comparison to Joel Embiid. Jokic has made it farther than Joel in the playoffs with better numbers and has never played with an all star or all nba teammate like Joel has. The refusal to add context around his loss to Portland in 2019 when Murray + Millsap both shot 25% or worse in the 2 closeout games is unacceptable. Ignoring that Jokic and the Nuggets beat the heavily favored Clippers and made it to the CF is unacceptable. Ignoring that Murray missed each of the last 2 postseasons and that Porter missed last postseason is unacceptable. Judge players by the same standards. They can't have it both ways. Either acknowledge that Jokic is the best player on the planet which is why they hold him to a higher standard or use an appropriate rating system.
@@TheMilapMehta Also Jokic ups his game in the playoffs. Embiid's better in the regular season. He doesn't choke or anything, he just struggles against playoff defense more than he does against regular season defense. Playoff defense doesn't seem to effect Jokic though he was putting up 30 point triple doubles against the eventual champs with Draymond guarding him last year.
inside the nba speaking all the truths and still manage to be better than espn they are in his full support while the rest of the media is trying to taint joker's name
To be fair, Jokic touches the ball more than any player in the game possession wise. Hes a centre so 10 rebounds is a given every night, so basically all he needs to get for a TD is 10 assists and hes also the defacto point guard...
False, Jokic is 34th in the NBA in usage rate. He has 10+ assists because he has the highest assist percentage in the NBA. If he's not scoring at the most efficient clip, he's throwing a perfect pass to setup a teammate. His elite vision and placement is what gets him there, not an insane amount of touches.
Fact is Jokic won't break any scoring records because he's way too much of a team player. He definitely could if he tried, and I'm hoping he'll break 60 at some point but that's as far as it will go. Jokic is the most valuable player without a doubt.
Agreed, but both are/were set up to do it. It’s not like Joker is out here running the break, shaking people throwing lobs. Everything is ran through him and it’s all in the half court, as it should be. That’s called smart basketball. He also has a much better team than Westbrook did. But we need to relax a bit. There have been quite a few big man that could’ve put up assists numbers similar to his if the game was played like this when they played. I’m not knocking the guy but let’s relax a bit. If it were any year pre 2010 he’s not putting up the assists numbers because he’s in the post bangin. Time is relative. Love his game though
Well yea. One of them gets triple doubles by playing winning team basketball. The other stat pads by leaving defensive assignments to hawk rebounds and only passes when he knows the other player can score.
Tbh WB is more amazing... 31.6 ppg with mates like Morrow and Roberson as a 6th seed? That's a great season by Russ and I think that's better than Jokic is about to have this season.

Or if the player you pass it to makes a extra move or takes another dribble before his shot you're not always credited with the assist 🤦🏻♂️
Dude these are pro ballers nor ur sorority basketball team
Nah just a lot of elite guards these days aren't pass first even if they're averaging high assists very few actual pass first PGs in the league which is what's confusing chuck. Elite guards can easily average 10 assists if they look to pass first as much as big men hunt for boards.
@@censr1 you’re still credited for the assist bro
I'm glad Chuck said it cause all these other tv ppl don't put the pressure on Jokic. They just praise him. Jokic has to make it to the finals. No excuses. U can't be a back to back mvp with a possible 3rd and not have that expectation
lebron, tatum, durant, have better teams than jokic and no one puts pressure on them, you are just salty that he gonna win the mvp again, also mvp isn't a post season award ignorant lmao.
one day when he finishes his carrer ppl will appreciate what hes done...
Never seen a player Garner so much praise from media and NO FEAR from his competition.
fear lol they’re playing basketball moron, when anybody in league can actually stop dude from doing whatever he wants get back at me, embid shoots 5 for 26 last night jokic has shot below 50 one time this year but people ‘’fear” embid right lol so stuoid
It's really about just how efficiently the Nuggets score when Jokić is on the floor. Either he's taking the shot, which usually goes in, or another Nugget is taking the shot, which is usually wide open because of Jokić. They just burn clean, high-octane gas on every possession.
This is the part that majority of nba fans just don’t see and it’s a shame because I’ve never seen anything like it ever
There was 40 picks ahead of Jokic. Wow. Go back and look at some of the players that were taken before him.
Wow what a conversation. Wish it was longer on the triple double part.
Players averaging 10+ rebounds: 13
Players averaging 10+ assists: 4
Plus, none of the 4 players averaging 10+ assists is averaging 11 assists or more, meanwhile 7 of the 13 players averaging 10+ rebounds are averaging 11 or more rebounds and two of those 7 are even averaging 12 or more.
@@tonyb.1905 he’s above giannis and embiid on steals and not too far behind in blocks😊

@nndayo6408 My friend, you're only telling half the story, though. Why don't you talk about his defense, particularly in the fourth quarter when teams Target him? Remember my friend, just two sides to an NBA court, one is on the defensive side for a hint🤣
Jokic is amazing!!!
He's the antithesis of a stat-padder. Hell, there are nights he only takes 6 or 7 shots...in this NBA era that's unheard of for a star.
Jokic is a very special big man .
Very smart like Bird , Kareem , Bill Russell ; Great vision , athletic ability .
Not the best athlete ;
Melliflous , he's so smart ;
Makes the game slow down , always in position to make the best play .
Head & basketball I.Q.are incredible .
Bravo 🏀🎷🙋♂️👏
What does Nick Wrong has to say about the Joker?
Jokic's greatness isn't captured by the triple double. He will get a lot of those just because of how he's used in the offense. To appreciate how good he is, you have to see how efficiently he plays offense.
The fact that Charles stopped and said all the NBA players are good, shows why he's a great fan of the game and commentator.
JOKIC is something like a SUPER HEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO from SERBIA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was actually a "down" game for him but he's still so dominant that it didn't matter.
These guys really do know basketball. I like listening to them. Also damned entertaining.
jokic and giannis would get more credit when the media stops talking about the lakers all the damn time
Jokic is the best player in NBA currently. He is also 3xmvp. Goat assist player ... Goat center.. 🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
He needs to win a chip. Yeah, he’s a great player but people need to see postseason success for him to vault into those top conversations.
I think he and the nuggets ended up doing that 4 months later.
@@lancebrady3770 Dirk, Giannis, Kawhi and Curry(2022) have all won chips and Fmvp without a top 10 player. If Jokic is of their caliber he needs to at least make a finals appearance case closed.
not a great argument bro comparing the teams those guys had to what jokic has had last two years it’s not even close, i think team jokic has this year is comparable to those teams so if he fails this year criticism is fair. but campazo and rivers as your backcourt isn’t same as kidd late in career but still hall of famed and jason. terry marion and chandler pretty solid too peja of bench, curry had klay hall of famer draymond great defender and other solid players, gianni’s had jrue and chris both all stars brook lopez solid, kawhai had pascal and solid shooters but only won because of kevin durant and klaythkmpson injuries so kind of a weird year, those were all really good supporting casts without a top ten, jokic has had nothing like that until this year last time jamal played in playoffs with him he made west finals all last three years even with terrible team dude lost to team that made finals and twice won finals
@@lancebrady3770 I don’t disagree with your point. I initially said the pressure on him will be immense if he doesn’t go to the finals after he wins another mvp. Not having your two best players is understandable but after this season there aren’t anymore excuses because this Denver squad is good this year.
Me personally, I was never high on Murray, I thought Porter Jr ha a higher ceiling (he been disappointing) I think this roster if everyone plays to there capabilities can win a chip, I do know, if I was denver, and this squad can't get at least to the WCF, then I'm really looking into a Beal for Murray swap, or check the market for mpj
Murray has that 4th quarter thing that only a few guys have which makes him forever a good asset. Dude can stink all game but come 6 minutes left, down 7 he'll get the win somehow.
@@metalhead2536 we're living to much off of his only really good postseason run, that was in the bubble, beal IMO has always been a better player than Murray, and beal would fill that role just fine, however we'll see if Murray can build off of his bubble postseason run, if he can, this team will win the west
Lol your smoking dope. Murry all day over Beal. And mpj is killing it 17-2 since his return. So go tell that shet to someone who doesn't watch the games.
damb i would love to see beal get to play relevant basketball, one of the best in league but when your team sucks people just don’t care. love jamal but if they don’t win that would be an awesome moce
MPJ has never been able to find a consistent rhythm, but you don't find many 6-10 players with that shooting capability.
Jokic is a basketball miracle.
Jokic had exactly 0 all star teammates during his entire career! Lebron had more all star teammates in Cleveland (2003-2010) than Jokic in Denver!? Not to mention the injuries of Jokić's teammates in the previous 2 seasons.
Tell me any all time great player who won their first title without any all star/hall of fame teammate. Kareem? No. Lebron and Durant? Hell no. Jordan, Russell, Kobe, Magic, Bird, Wilt, Shaq, Duncan...? No, no and no.
But for some reason Jokic is expected to do that? Why doesn't anyone ask the question: If LeBron needed Wade and Bosh to become an NBA champion, maybe it's fair to expect the same from Jokic when Durant and JA (for example) become his teammates.
I agree with everything you said, the only all time great who won a ring without an all star or hall of fame teammate was Hakeem in 1994 (even though Sam Cassell would become an all star in Minnesota years after)
@@srdjanpajic2404 Yep, although for some people (including myself) Big shot Bob should be in the HoF
@@srdjanpajic2404 That's why Hakeem's 1994 title is worth a lot. I could make an argument that 1994 title is the most valuable of all time. Not to mention that Hakeem led his team in all 5 statistical categories during that playoff!
Jokic's title will also be worth a lot if he wins it with this team (far more than Lebron's 2012 and 2013 rings or Durant's 2017 and 2018 or any of Jabbar's titles...Durant's titles are the only worthless titles in history if you ask me)
@@nikolaivanovic3163 worthless? What a casual statement 🤣🤣🤣
@@jasonmoukala8909 Of course they are worthless. His sign with the Warriors is the most cowardly move by an all-time great player in NBA history. And the player who wins without difficulty triumphs without glory.
I’m so glad they’re gonna hold Jokic to the same standard w the triple doubles as Russ. Fair or not, it’s consistent.
Exactly
He's the MVP. 100%.

To be fair, Jokic touches the ball more than any player in the game possession wise. Hes a centre so 10 rebounds is a given every night, so basically all he needs to get for a TD is 10 assists and hes also the defacto point guard...
True
False, Jokic is 34th in the NBA in usage rate. He has 10+ assists because he has the highest assist percentage in the NBA. If he's not scoring at the most efficient clip, he's throwing a perfect pass to setup a teammate. His elite vision and placement is what gets him there, not an insane amount of touches.
@@TheMilapMehta usage rate and touches per game are different stats.
Fact is Jokic won't break any scoring records because he's way too much of a team player. He definitely could if he tried, and I'm hoping he'll break 60 at some point but that's as far as it will go. Jokic is the most valuable player without a doubt.
0:23 what in earth was that dunk 😳
jokic's triple double season > westbrook
common brother is not worth even mentioning to ez for the Joker
Russ' highest FG% in one of his four triple double seasons was .449 and from 3 it was .298. Jokic right now has .632 FG% and shoots .391 from 3. Joker is too good man
24 12 10 season on 63 39 81 splits shooting, this is gonna be crazy prime, every year somehow he improves. Best hands of any center ever. I like that Hakeem said Jokic is that guy. Media can hate all day long, but when a king of low post footwork(african legend, like embiid and giannis) said that Jokic has that footwork and doesn't need his lessons unlikee Giannis and Embiid, i trust that man Hakeem. That is top 10 player ever talking about his position.
Kenny have to remind everybody once in a while that he talked to MJ and they talked about Triple Doubles hahaha
I swear to god he asked the same question because of MJ 2 years ago
It's actually 3. Only 3 guards average 10 ast per game this season. The other in double digit ast is Jokic, for a grand total of 4 players in the entire NBA. Jokic is a beast!
The scary thing is that he may get MVP couple times more. What we are going to do then.
And Jokic was the second to the last person to be picked during the all star team selection. Lack of respect.
Jokic is a phenomenal player and one of the very few I choose to watch but Chuck is right he’s got to do damage in the post season otherwise most people won’t recognize his play and just say he’s stat padding which is unfortunate for him.
