- Hello friends, welcome to my first official RUclips video!
This week, I tried to break out of Rookie class in iRacing's road racing, but it's Week 13, which means the tracks rotate every day! Fortunately, I found a combo I liked, the MX-5s at VIR - can we get out of Rookie class in a single evening? Let's find out!
Your feedback and comments are wanted and appreciated. If you have any constructive feedback or even if you just enjoyed the video, leave a comment below! :) More content to come soon - thanks for watching!
I started a sim racing team with some friends called Apex Hunter Racing. We have some quality racers on our team, if you're interested in joining, join our Discord at the link below or check out @BobsYerUncle_GT

Nice consistent and level explanation of what you're doing, what you intend do and thoughts on errors throughout, gj.
Was the main aim to improve your safety rating by any chance? 😁
What gave that away? 🤣
Enjoyed this DJ, I'll keep my iracing questions off here cause it'd be an essay but to be brief seeing as you asked for feedback.
Some more of those wider replay angles mixed in with your POV would be nice (I was trying to figure out the track layout 😅)
The last race I thought very engaging. Maybe if you wanted to shave off some time and cut out some fluff I would maybe suggest here to have taken shorter clips from the first races, and showed your last one in full, or near enough.
Very nice job here though and really enjoyed it.
More iRacing please!
Thanks, Bob! I will include the track layout(s) in future videos, great suggestion!
Good mindset. Enjoyed the watch.
Thnxs for the share my friend.
Greetings from Holland.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for the support and greetings from America :)
11:15 Imagine someone on your OWN TEAM distracting you like that into a braking zone... I mean, honestly 😅😅
It follows me across platforms and games so clearly it's a me thing
This strategy of starting in the pits and then not racing competitively just makes D class like rookies. It's going to be a shit show when you get there. Better to race hard and you'll get used to running with yahoos and being able to predict the stupidity that is about to ensue. It's a skill that you're depriving yourself from developing. Don't prioritize safety rating, you'll move up if you're good enough to move up, which you will be.
I just did it to get out of rookies even though I agree with you, it's better to just dive in and deal with the carnage - fortunately, Gran Turismo has taught me a lot about that, though the perspective change will make it a little harder. I'll definitely race without "pit hiding" from here on out though!
You should add some UI to the video capture. Stuff like the relative info box.
Yeah, I recognized as I was recording that a lot of that would've been helpful info, especially since you can't see the virtual mirror in the replays - I will definitely do that in the future, thank you! :)
